TJ Edwards did talk to the media after practice today. He said, quote, “I feel really good.” Kyler Gordon actually talked as well. He said, “If there was a game this week, he’d be playing.” And let’s face it, those two guys returning will be big. Especially Kyler because he could just, he’s a Swiss Army knight. You could drop him into coverage. You can blitz him. He can play and run support. And look, Nick Mloud has battled in coverage. He does not like to tackle. So, uh, I think teams have tried to run at him, and he is not a very willing tackler. uh Kyler Gordon is, so that should help in run support and could give your pass rush a boost as well if you bring him on some blitzes. So excited to have him back. And TJ Edwards should also fill the lanes better. Tmaine Edmonds is very hit and miss. Is a run stopping linebacker. I thought he really struggled uh against the Raiders after having a good game uh against Dallas. He racked up 11 tackles, but he was out of position a lot. So TJ, a better instinctive player should help in that regard. in TMAN and you know go back to hopefully being you know more of that coverage sideline to sideline guy.

  5. Now long shot but if Jaylen Johnson can somehow come back near week 16-18 and we make the playoffs by a miracle, this defenses will be strong again. Prayers JJ comes back this season, but what are the chances?

I know it’s early but the Grady Jarret signing isn’t looking the best… we need to stop paying guys who earned their pay on other teams… our top 5 highest cap hits this year are players we didn’t draft (Sweat, DJ, Edmunds, Jonah Jackson, Drew Dalman) we need to start investing in form gone talent.

  19. I'm so tired of Kyler Gordon being out. We were sold on how limber he is. Called him Spiderman. Does yoga and ballet and whatever. Yet somehow the dude always has muscle pulls and tears. Dumbest contract extension ever.

  20. Edmonds there’s a huge liability in the run game. He is nonexistent against the run. Softest linebacker I’ve ever seen in the Chicago uniform. For the amount of money he gets paid. It’s an absolute joke.

  22. I haven’t exactly studied the film but I’m kind of surprised McCloud didn’t get burnt in coverage more, I thought nickle was going to be very vulnerable but in coverage at least he seemed to hold his own

  25. We getting players back healthy. Also we could see a trade coming. Roschon Johnson has minimal playing time. We need another RB if Johnson can't step up.

  26. Mcloud is a waste of a space on the bench, he needs to be off the field and off the team. We have no space for someone whos afraid. We have had the same issue for far to long where we pick up players that are afraid of getting hit, we need ballers not golfers.

  32. If you watch the game closely, the Bears have a few in the secondary who are afraid of tackling! You have a helmet, pads, etc….. Why wouldn't you throw yourself at their legs? I was coached "You can't run without legs!" Still surprised that guys in the league try tackling up top? You learn this crap in peewee league. Stop giving up extra yards, fly in and take those knees out! When a player leaves his feet, make them pay! C'mon already Bears!
