Crazy how kickers are now regularly making 60+ yard field goals lol.

  1. It’s amazing how much of that game is blocked out of my memory, and I wasn’t even really drunk. I have way more memories of Super Bowl 30 when I was 17 years old versus Super Bowl 45 when I was 32. Super Bowl 45 is a black hole in my mind and memory outside of a few plays. Memories blocked by sports fandom trauma.

Did Suisham miss a crucial kick in that game? I don’t remember. My flashback goes to “We are absolutely going to win,” followed almost immediately by that Mendenhall fumble. Everything else is a blur. 😢

  2. I don’t remember anything from this game except the failed 4th down to Mike Wallace. I’ve never watched highlights or clips from it, I just forgot anything about it except that one play at the end.

  3. Suisham was very reliable, but anything 50+ was too much for him. I remember in 2012, he cost us two games (Bengals, Titans) because he missed a 52-yard field goal in each

  4. Fun Fact: because I was so young and such a die hard Steelers fan (born in 1997) When we lost this superbowl, I stopped watching football ENTIRELY until 2023…

I missed the killer b’s era, Ben retiring, Polamalu retiring, AB’s run, everything… This game truly broke my heart and I’ve yet to re-watch in it’s entirety. That’s also another reason why I had such a tough time when we signed Rodgers, gave me immediate PTSD Lol.

  5. There were so many missed opportunities in that game. My life would be so much better, even now, had I seen a third Steelers Super Bowl win.
