[Highlight] Touchdown-negating OPI call against Garrett Wilson

  1. Almost every top receiver does that shit and the refs call OPI now of all times at a pivotal moment in the 4th quarter. Fuck the refs

  2. Wish I could say I haven’t been watching these types of bullshit calls cost Jets touchdowns for my entire life…

  3. I hate saying this cause obviously we sucked and rightfully earned the L in numerous ways but this league is rigged as shit. The thumb is always on the scale in one way or another and every since that MNF Chiefs game it just seems that this team is always on the short end of bogus shit like this all the time. I dont miss my season tickets or investing as much energy as I once did. This league has zero accountability for this nonsense.

  4. The NFL has officially joined the ranks of the NBA by allowing the refs to intervene in every other play and make themselves a ridiculously clownish part of the game and it has become infuriating and unwatchable.

  5. after the debacle jets game ended i flipped to the other MNF game and Buck and Aikman were bemoaning the endless flag fest that was occurring there. the guys who runs these sports leagues are all some of the most disgusting, zero integrity, only care about money and damn the small folk people on the PLANET. to assume people who are totally cool with taking healthcare away from babies and old people would be above fixing the games for their own personal financial gain is naive.

  6. I really think Garrett’s awesomeness did himself dirty here. Not being sarcastic. Even the announcers said there was all of sudden a separation between Garrett and the DB, making you think, real time, there has to be a push off. Then you look at the slow-mo, it was just Garrett being a freak athlete…

  7. The toe tap is the type of insane athleticism ppl watch the nfl to see. No one tunes in for the refs, shit is so obviously rigged…

  8. We for sure cost ourselves the game with all the turnovers, but the fact we had players getting hit 5 seconds late on the ground; and helmets being hit off our linemen without being called… hard to argue there was some real shitty officiating.

  9. I don’t even think the NFL just outright tells the refs “Make sure the Phins win.”

They *do* probably send over a video and explicitly say “Watch for this guy to push off” or “This guy holds onto the defender too long, keep an eye on that.”

Just feels like stuff that other teams get away with, the Jets never do.

  10. I really think they need to make this shit reviewable

Unlike 2019 the review should be decided by a centralized command for consistency purposes

  11. Without the 3-4 really bad penalties or non-calls. The jets probably win this game. However they did not deserve for the game to be even close. I love AG and I am still hoping he could figure it out. But the amount of mental errors and the legitimate penalties and the worst D we have had in years and overall sloppiness has me worried early on in his tenure

  12. I mean that was as weak as it gets, I don’t know about a PUSH OFF … He barely touched him with a few fingers, Get that French Toast out of here. Bullshit.

And it’s only Garrett Wilson, one of the top and most-promising receivers in the league.

  13. That was a brutal call and subsequent chain of events. Refs didn’t make it easy.

That said, giving up a 96 yard touchdown drive after the goal line fumble was unforgivable.

  14. They have such a grey area about pass interference, both ways. I see the same things happening on every down. Sometimes they call it, most of the time they let it go. I’m not talking about just Jets games, I’m talking about all the games.

  15. It was aggravating to watch. We were playing against self inflicted penalties, our fumbles and the refs all night. Tough to pull out a win with that many adversaries.

  16. Such a shame this doesn’t count as a td for him. One of the few guys on the team who plays his ass off and is loyal to us regardless of how shit we are. He deserved that. Lame call

  17. I can’t think of how this league isn’t completely rigged at this point unless they’re deliberately hiring and training referees to be entirely incompetent. This isn’t soccer or hockey or basketball where the action is continuous. You only have to watch and concentrate for about 5-8 seconds yet they’re blatantly and consisttently making calls that are completely different from one team to the other on 20-40% of plays every single game. AJ Brown literally throws his defender to the ground to win a game for Philly and nothing is called yet GW barely nudges his defender and it’s OPI. The Jets are called for late hits twice this game while 2 MUCH later, more obvious and more violent hits by the Fish are completely ignored. I refuse to go to any more games or purchase any more NFL products. They’ve completely ruined a sport that should be relatively easy to officiate through either abject incompetence or blatant corruption.

  18. I’m 50 years old, my dad had season tickets at Shea Stadium…this has been happening for two generations now. Weird things happen and the Jets lose.

  19. This was a terrible call. It sucks that guys like Wilson, slender and slight of frame, get called for ticky tack calls like this when behemoths like DK can literally forearm dudes out the way. It’s infuriating watching the refs in every sport make the games about them.
