  1. ABS on EVERY pitch, not just 2 challenges a game. I want robo ump for every single pitch.

  2. Lol “Human element” My ass, i don’t care what game, or who’s playing, we MUST bring robo ump immediately. God.

  3. Maybe I’m being a conspiracy theorist but this feels like the ump getting back at Bogearts for his reaction to the previous pitch

  4. perfect end to the balls and strikes arent reviewable era. sorry, padres fans. you didnt deserve that. nobody does. ok maybe astros or cardinals fans

  5. Umpires rapidly making automated balls and strikes more and more important. That was a game changing blown call.

  6. There’s the justification for a huge expansion of ABS next year. Whoever was behind home plate should be shown the door for the rest of the playoffs.

  7. That is absolutely brutal, especially considering Keller was atrocious. I don’t know if the Pads could’ve tied the game, but they deserved an honest opportunity to try.

  8. Making a call like that is bad enough, never mind in the playoffs. Then, it’s unforgivable.

  9. I mean I understand borderline pitches but no way a professional umpire can make a call that bad

  10. I don’t understand why they are instituting a challenge system next year. Just full, auto ABS. Every pitch

  11. On the previous pitch, 3-1 count, the batter started heading to first base before the strike call. That called strike was right.

One thing I learned in baseball was not to show up the home plate ump and SD had done this move to first base on 3-1 counts at least 3 times.

I had a feeling that the pitcher was going to catch a break on anything remotely close to the plate, which he did. Not saying the ump was right for doing this, but SD hitters had shown him up at least 3 times.
