NFL LIVE | “Drake Maye will STUN Josh Allen!” – Dan bold predictions on Bills vs Patriots in Week 5
Mike Vrabel on the matchup. Coach Frabel, I got a lot of respect for him and I know our players have a lot of respect for him as well. So, it’s going to be a really good uh coached football team. Um they’re going to be very sound and you know uh they’re not going to beat themselves. I think it’s important that we can take the next step and and show that uh that we are ready and that maybe some of our identity has a chance to to let itself out on on Sunday night. And um but it’ll be a great challenge. should be a challenge to even just prepare today and get going and and focus on all those things that are going to help us in a road environment. Dan, what does the tape show you about this Patriots offense? First of all, I think this is a very dangerous game for the Bills. This this is their defense is struggling right now. So, I think it’s dangerous. Um, really impressed with Josh McDaniels in the sequencing of plays, but for their pass game, Steph looks like Steph. I mean, I’ve been very impressed with Stefon Diggs, and I think his feel of be where you’re supposed to be when you’re supposed to be there is a big deal. Okay, he’s at the bottom of the screen. This is a deep cross versus man coverage. They chip the tight end, free release to back, man coverage. What’s the one thing he’s got to do, Hawk, to run away from? Stair step. Stair step and run away. Beautiful. He knows it’s man coverage. No reason to slow down. Gets open. Very similar concept. Okay, step with a little bit of a reduced split this time. Now he’s going to get zone defense. Double chip. Zone defense. What’s the most important thing? Find a hole. Find the hole and sit there. Last time it’s the same route, right? But he’s running away from the defense. This time I call just being boring. Be where you’re supposed to be when you’re supposed to be there. Bottom of the screen. Go route. Corner’s playing where on him. He’s up kind of up top. Where do you expect it? Back shoulder. Back shoulder. So like just for the quarterback who’s in his second year, having that veteran receiver that’s running those routes, but he he knows where he’s supposed to be on what the coverage is. I could trust you, dude. Like I know I know you’re seeing it the same way. I think that’s part of the reason why we’re seeing this Drake May jump early on this year. I can I can see Drake May getting better with Stefon Diggs on the tape. They’re jelling. And those comments about him being comfortable after you watch the tape. It makes more sense cuz there’s probably another five catches 100 plus yards out there. There’s another three crossers that Drake May could hit him on where he is open. But Stefon Diggs isn’t used to not having the pass game go through him. So, it’s a little different, but for Drake May, you saw even in that the course of that game, he got more comfortable knowing when to let it hang. Like that pass that you showed in the zone coverage where Steph kind of settles. He settles right out of the break. Right out of the break and then Drake throws him to a spot and he reacts. Drake is ready to throw that. There were two times earlier that he did he wasn’t ready and they missed those opportunities. So, to your point, that’s what a veteran receiver gives you. gives you that evolution and that maturation. Very similar we saw from Josh Allen when Diggs went there. Yeah. I just think like we so often get caught in the physical abilities of guys and we forget how important is like the quarterback dropping back and expecting you to be somewhere and you’re there all the time. Absolutely. Guys, Drake May has looked so good over the last three weeks as you’re talking about. He leads the NFL in completion rate and has the fifth best total key. The numbers are burying it out. Yeah. Interesting. We’re going to remember that you said that. If uh they end up If they end up winning, we’re just going to we’re going to remember that, too. All right, new on NFL Live. Kim Ward was fired up post game on Sunday. Here he is today. No, it’s not tough. Um I’ve lost football games before. It’s more just learning from it fast and minimizing it fast. Um that’s the biggest thing. But I got I got some good guys around me. U we know that we ain’t play our best ball yet. We got a lot of potential on this roster. We just got to go prove it on Sundays. All right, time for Rookie Watch special edition with Field and Dan. Field, what do you have for us today? Yeah, Laura, it’s week five. We’re already shaking things up. Normally, you highlight three or four guys, but Dan, I was talking to you yesterday. I said we got to talk about Cam Ward. If you look at the numbers, people are going to say this guy’s off to a tough start. And the the Titans obviously are off to a very tough start. Maybe one of the most hopeless offenses in the NFL right now. I got to tell you, it feels like Cam has the appropriate number and number one cuz he’s the only one on the Titans offense that is bringing it. I think the tape tells a different story than the numbers do. What have you seen from Cam so far? Yeah, the only reason they’re hopeless is everybody but him essentially. So, three clips cuz I think it’s been really good. I think there’s moments you go you’re not getting much help and then bad. Okay, he’s peeking up top. That guy’s getting hung up. Reset and rip this ball to Cam or excuse me, Calvin Ridley. That’s about as good as you can do it versus man coverage. The the little things become the big things. Okay, play action screen. We’re going to lift coverage. I got bodies out front. This should be a home run for their offense. Home run. I need this ball to be on his left shoulder, not his right. Okay, that’s the bad. No, cuz then it slows Per down to reach. We We We should be scoring on that play. So that that little stuff’s got to get better for him. And then the ugly. It’s everyone around him. Okay, he drops back to pass. He’s peeking to his right. That right tackle just collapses into him. What I love for him to try to maybe reset and become a runner. Sure. But too often we see examples of this, and that’s what I get a little hesitant on is I don’t want that bad habit to develop of throwing back across your body. I could come up here and throw 20 clips of like, “Yep, yep. That that’s hitting your back foot, cutting it loose.” I think he’s in a spot because the talent he is where he naturally wants to be a playmaker. Yeah. I just don’t want him to get into the habit of thinking every play I got to go be be a playmaker. And there were times that was the case last year at Miami. That was one of the biggest things he had to kind of work on. Laura, I will say this though. Remember the Titans made what I think a lot of people thought was a gigantic bet in taking Cam Ward number one overall. not taking Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter are moving back very, very early for all three of those players. The early signs for Cam Moore, though, are pretty darn encouraging that Tennessee may have won that bet. I’ll ask you a question. Yeah. After four games, do you feel better about him now than you did in the pre-draft process? I feel better about Cam now as a player. And I’ll say this, I feel a whole lot better about the intangibles because this kid gets it right away. Facing a lot of adversity and saying and doing all the right things. Yeah, I think he can flat out play. I love it. Uh, by the way, Dan is not that tall. I mean, I like camera angle thing. 68 or something. Whatever. Dan, I stepped forward field. Trust me. Kansas City game on first and second down. Guess how many carries he had over the course of that game on first and second down last week. Yeah. Six. 12. Wow. Carried the ball six times on first and second down. So, I think there’s a reality where the Ravens have gotten a little passappy on offense. I love the throw. I love putting the ball in the air. I love being aggressive. But if you look at kind of the carries in comparison to last year and where he is this year on first and second down, that’s where you should be feeding him the football and allowing him to have an impact. Six carries on first and second down. Some of that because they were down and they were trying to They went down and took the lead the first drive of the game. They took nothing. You’re right. You’re right. But you were saying Swagoo was right. Right. His point was valid after going back and going six carries. If you look at it the numbers compared to last year as far as touches and whatnot, it’s not even close. Yeah. Two names, Derrick Henry, Zack Ore, like they got to get it figured out. Otherwise, they’re not going to have a chance. They got to play the field position game. And if I’m talking to the receivers in the receiver meeting room this week, I’m telling you, hey, you have a lot of time to get open when you have Lamar. That is not the case with Cooper Rush. And actually, he is appropriately named because he gets the ball out of his hands really, really fast. And what that means is as a receiver, what I’m telling you is you have to hurry, but don’t rush. This is going to feel different. Cooper is going to try to get the ball out of his hands. And as an offensive coordinator, what am I doing in the pass game that plays into the style that he likes to play? Getting it to Z Flowers on the edge, maybe some of that screen game, looking for Yak opportunities. Again, you’re playing the field position game, protecting the football. It has to go back to the old school Ravens, otherwise you won’t have a chance. This is not going to be a bar burner. Yeah, they they they got a I think we saw a couple couple teams recently get a little pass happy. The Chargers I felt last week certainly the Ravens fall under that. Yeah. By the way, we’re talking about all these Ravens injuries. If you’re keeping track, it’s really crazy. These are the guys who did not starters who did not practice today. Lamar Jackson, Ronnie Stanley, the left tackle, Rocoan Smith, who’s been dealing with a lot, it seems like not not healthy. Nate Wiggins, Marlon Humphrey, and Patrick Ricard, who we illustrated yesterday. Mina was making the point, and a few of us were, that Patrick Ricard may be who they missed the most. Just changes their offense entirely. A lot more coming your way here on NFL Live. We’re just getting started. Hey, Puka Nakua had a standout performance on Sunday. Could he be the best wide out in the league? Well, Dan and Hawks are going to go to the touchcreen, tell you why he just may be. A lot of Rams love in the show today. Plus, Cam Ward didn’t hold back on Sunday. They’re not playing very well, but Field says there’s still plenty to be excited about with the number one overall pick.
NFL LIVE | “Drake Maye will STUN Josh Allen!” – Dan bold predictions on Bills vs Patriots in Week 5

Josh Allen literally trains Drake Maye in off season. He isn't threatened by him. If anything he wants him to grow into a more competitive qb in the division. He wont be stunned by his improvement when he himself is teaching him.
Ive never seen a Offense face a offense before why would allen give a fuck he'll drop 40 on em and if the defense is letting shit through he will lock in and youll see 50 on the board drake may have to be kobe and throw up 60 to win this 😂😂
Pats fan here. I think the Bills win, but Pats will win the second game in Foxboro.
Pats fans here. Checking in.
We really Analyzing plays against the Panthers? Really? What a joke
Just because Stefon Diggs got 100 yard game doesn’t mean that they were STUN the bills
Drake and Josh are brothers that will face off many times in their careers. This is fun.
Didn't know Maye was on the rush defense 😂😂. This dude has some of the worst takes i swear
Steph is drugging and raping men… you gonna cover that
First off, lets stop crowning NE. Vrable hasn't won shit, Maye is overrated.
This is a bad matchup for Buffalo?
This is a terrible matchup for NE!
The Bills are getting everyone best shot regardless
aint afraid of Diggs. Our defense knows everything about him. Drake Maye is not Josh Allen. The game is in prime time in Buffalo. This will be a cake walk. Y'all better stop poking the bear before Buffalo really wakes up and train rolls the rest of the season.
I really hope the bills make Maye look just awful
BIlls play bad against Pats and pats putting up 44 point last week aint ez
They are friends and spent time in the offseason together. Maye sees Josh as a mentor.
Neither of them will be surprised by the other.
He didn’t predict that.
What is Dan talking about🤷🏿
last time Bills started 4-0 in 2020, they lost week 5 to Mike Vrabels Tennessee Titans fyi Bills fans..
"they won't beat themselves" -JA 17
"I'ma wax dat ass tho" – JA 17 probably
Every week is a trap game? Got it
Pats got this …they barely won last year by 3 and loss to Joe Milton at QB we way better this year long as we don't beat ourselves like the Steelers game .y'all who sleep on the pats just wait and see
So New England Patriots are going to win the super bowl,…… Man go take a f**** nap
Click bait bull crap… Bills D gets a lil healthier this week. Bills pull away and win .
Let’s calm down with the “patriots are going to shock the Bills” narrative. Unless you’re saying we’re just going to be competitive. Otherwise, chill. The bills are still the bills, Josh Allen is still playing at an MVP level. The division still runs through Buffalo. Let’s just hope we’re competitive.
These analysts are like democrats. They dont know what they want and when they figure it out its usually wrong. Stef had one good game now hes the best receiver. Bills defense it struggling but have been missing key pieces all year. Pats beat dolphins and panthers. Give me a fucking break. They lost to steelers and raiders. Im not saying this will be an easy game because division games are always hard but these analysts need to get more consistent.
What a clown
Bills 47-17
Dan talks way more than he listens.
He was one bad QB but he’s a even worse “analyst”.
Last time the Bills played a Vrable coached team the Bills won 42-7
Josh will need to throw short and James cook counter with runs first half, and throwing deep second half of third quarter.
Bills on stand alone night games don't lose
Hope we win 50-0 Can not stand the patriots and Coach sucked at Tennessee!
This is why I have written in another place the words partisan" – all commentators are supposedly objective but the flavor here is decided partisan – just from the above caption I decided not to view listen and is the reason I hate and almost totally avoid all soft media and even television commentary unless it What I remember is all commentators are being paid and they have their own favored teams. What I want and need to see and hear is total objectivity and I don';t see or hear any of that is from game play commentary. Last years I totally stopped because of the crap talk I was hearing and seeing. I thought I would give it another chance this year but the same thing happened. I now turn off all you obviously non-objective very well paid people.
These momos said this before jets and Miami too😂😂 no doubt NE will be a tough test though
The Patriots are still a year or two away from challenging the Bills in their own building.
Bills fan here but… D is a big time worry… This game will be uncomfortably close.
Josh Allen..is a Monster .at night .Bills by 30…Allen scores 5 TDs
Omg really ? A tough game? You all said the pats will only win 4 games this year!
To be the man you have to beat the man prove it
