Jeff Blashill on Win Against St. Louis | Chicago Blackhawks
What are your thoughts on tonight’s game? I think uh you know overall I thought we did early in the game um I thought the first half of the game our our play without the puck was good. I thought structurally we did some good stuff. I thought our play with the puck was sloppy. Um, and that kind of cost us some opportunities against um, you know, but I thought our guys stayed with it and uh, you know, we had a young group in here tonight. Um, and they kept working hard and working hard and I thought even, you know, as the game went along structurally, uh, we got better and and as a result, I think, uh, you know, just the our team game got better. The pace seemed to pick up a little bit in the second period. Um, puck was moving a lot better. uh more scoring chances. What do you attribute that to? Yeah. Uh well, I just think again uh we were just a little bit sloppy without it. I thought, um our our forwards didn’t do a good enough job of supporting our D. Uh they, you know, they had uh when the D looked up, I think they saw a lot of backs, they saw a lot of numbers, and they got to see a lot of uh a lot of their chests instead. So, I thought uh as we went along, we supported it better. It makes it way easier if everybody wants the puck. I thought we did a better job of that. And again, as a result, you can kind of go tape to tape and start to uh start to look a little bit faster at that point. How would you assess the special teams play tonight? You know, I thought good. Uh we had plenty of chances on the power play. Um we didn’t score, but we had plenty of chances. I thought uh uh penalty kill-wise, you know, it took a step from the other night. We’ve practiced it a little bit more now. So, I think we’re we’re starting to get the the the hang of it. Uh Spencer’s first preseason game. What did you think of his play tonight? I thought he was really sharp. He kept us in the game uh the first half of the game when we were uh uh when we were giving up some real chances. I thought he kept us in the game and and uh allowed us to kind of climb our way back. So that’s uh that’s what a real good goalie does and he did that. And finally, have you ever seen a goal play out like Oliver’s before? I actually have um honestly I think two years ago in Tampa it was against us but it was it wasn’t exactly that scenario but you know similar type scenario where you thought whatever the play was over we actually had our goalie was in the corner and they they iced the puck down and went in the net like you just got to play the whistle and it’s a weird kind of situation but that’s the reality of

Dude is GREEEEEEEEEZY. Not sure about him.
Well we won but this is gonna be a long season is it? 😞
No chance of winning the Stanley Cup but maybe a playoff berth or winning the division
No Pat Quinn, or Dale Hunter 😉
Hopefully the young guys get better as the season goes along, and tough losses turn into tough wins.
