Giants vs Saints Game Preview: Predictions and Best Bets | NFL Week 5
the NFL on CBS and Paramount+. The Giants head down to the Big Easy this weekend, hoping Jaxson Dart can once again lead them to the promised land of a win. In his debut last week, the rookie went 13 of 2111 passing yards. Also took off on the ground plenty for 54 yards and a rushing touchdown. And keep in mind, he did it against the Chargers, making him the first quarterback to win his first career start versus A30 team or better since 2002. Taking a look at a little bit more about his stats, you know what I’m really excited about, though? Chris, after the game, he went to one of my favorite restaurants in New York. What’s that? I think it’s called Emilio. Do you think it’s one of your favorite restaurants? You don’t even know the name because it’s like very Italian, so I’m not sure I’m pronouncing it right. You don’t know how to pronounce it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I don’t know how to pronounce it. Charles. I can’t mess that up. Let’s welcome in Charles Davis, who’s going to be on the call for their game against the Saints this weekend. Charles, let me ask you this. You have watched so many rookie quarterbacks in their debuts over the years. What have you make of Jackson Dart’s performance and kind of what are you expecting from him in game two? We’ll get to that very quickly. But did you call did you call Eli Manning for you know, him to call restaurant and get you in like Jackson earlier this year, that exclusive restaurant that only had eight tables. And he’s like, hey Eli, you know, I’m going to rely on you and I appreciate you mentoring me. Can you can you hook me up at the restaurant? Eli’s like, that’s not what mentoring is about. No, I don’t know. But you know what? It’s funny. Your favorite restaurant. You should know the name of it. Amanda. Okay, I do know that. Yes. The owner. The only reason I went there is because I lined up before it opened, and I went there like at 5:00, and the owner sits in the front of the restaurant and he like judges people when they come in, he’s like, okay, you may enter. So. So Eli Manning would be helpful, I hope I hope the owner doesn’t see this segment, that you didn’t know the name because none of us are getting in now. Chris and I aren’t getting in just because we’re associated with you. But let’s get to the start, okay? He played like a wild horse that had been fenced in, right? He had been itching to play so long he had held it in and he actually became what his last name. He became the starter because he took off and ran. He ran with authority. He ran with abandon, actually, you know, almost out of control at times because the joy and the glee was there. The numbers aren’t going to blow you out of the out of the water throwing the football. But because the Giants ran it so well and meaning they had enough attempts that they could go for it late in the count. All of those things like Scout, he had 25 carries for 79 yards. That’s not going to kill you. That’s not going to make you go, wow, what a great day. But it kept the ball away from Justin Herbert. It kept the clock moving. It kept the Giants defense in a good position. They did all the right things. And let’s face it, the rookie quarterback winning his first start. The Glee in the locker room afterwards. The joy around the team, the hope and the optimism that starts to rise. And you guys know New York fans. They’re loving chanting scatter boo already. And now they have. They believe their quarterback. But you remember Danny Dimes debut in Tampa was pretty good too. So Jackson’s got to do it again and again and again. Okay. So that’s that’s the good news. As of right now with the Giants bad news. They did lose Malik Nabers for the rest of the season because of a torn ACL. What are you hearing about maybe their plan to try and fill that void. Well obviously people are going to have to step up next man up in the NFL right. Jalen Hyatt hasn’t caught a ball this year. All right a former high selection in the draft who can flat out fly out of Tennessee has given them nothing. Can he jump up and finally realize his potential. But to me it always comes back to one person for the Giants that they’re always trying to replace. They’re always trying to get someone over the top of him, and he’s always there to make plays. And that’s Darius Slayton. Let’s get back to finding Darius Slayton with the football Wan’dale Robinson is going to be Mr. Dependable. He’s going to move the sticks on third down. He’s going to work in the slot. He’s going to give you big plays, all of those things. He’ll probably be wide receiver one, but Darius Slayton is the guy I’m keeping a real strong eye on. And I’ll be surprised, Amanda, if they don’t move up, what’s his name? Humphrey. Little man Humphrey, right. I expect him to come up off of the practice squad, because if you go back and watch preseason, Jaxson Dart and Humphrey had a really great connection and they worked together a lot on the second team, in the third team in preseason, he will probably come up now and be a part of the lineup starting this week. Lil’jordan Humphrey, isn’t that right? Yeah, I think Humphrey works better. Jordan. You know, Lil Rel I mean, I’ve got to get it right because I’ve got to have it on Sunday when he makes a big catch. And I could not get his name wrong because I do not need his mom wanting a piece of me. Yo. That’s true. It’s always the moms that are coming after you. Talk to me about this Giants defense. And I was listening to Brian Daboll after that last game and this this front seven. Everybody was like, this is it. This is the best front seven you’re going to find in the NFL this season. And they’ve been good. But there are still kind of areas where it seems like they need to work on. Coach Daboll mentioned against the run they let a lot of runs through. What are you seeing from the defense so far? Yeah. Well what we saw Sunday was the ability to at least limit the running game in certain aspects of it. Although Omarion Hampton still ended up having a big game for them down the stretch. But Dexter Lawrence played the best game of the season for the Giants so far. And when Big Dex is playing well, when it’s sexy Dixie. All right, look out. Because now he plugs things up in the middle, makes a lot of plays up and down the line of scrimmage. He’s very active. And then of course, getting the interception running 37 yards that really got him activated. But when they can do that now you’re turning loose. Brian Burns who has been the best player of the on the Giants so far this season on both sides of the football. Now you’re turning loose. Kayvon Thibodeaux who’s been the second best player for the Giants on both sides of the football. And oh yeah you have your rookie number one pick Abdul Carter who’s also playing pretty well off the edge. But you have to earn the right for those edge guys to have an effect. And they earn that right on Sunday against the Chargers. You are very familiar with the Saints team, and I want to go to them really quickly. Because if you look at articles about Spencer Rattler, some people are saying, is it time to replace him? Is it time to bench him? And if you look their record, not great, but his numbers aren’t bad. He’s like it. Almost 70% of his passes, 600 or 765 yards, five touchdowns. Only one interception. What do you tell people when it comes to Spencer Rattler and maybe your opinion, but also maybe the the plan for the Saints? Yeah, the plan for the Saints is Spencer Rattler won the job in camp and that he’s going to be the starter for the season. And they’re not expecting to make any type of a change at this time. He’s playing fine football. He’s taking care of the ball. The ball is not going out of his arms. He had six fumbles last year. I think he’s had one this year. But it wasn’t even a lost fumble. He’s only thrown the one interception. So he’s done a very nice job taking care of it. The biggest issue two big issues for him one times when the accuracy needs to be there, it’s not quite there. Big throw that he had to Chris Olave on Sunday. That would have put them ahead in the fourth quarter. It was in the wrong spot. Couldn’t make the catch. That’s one. All right. The second part is they’re not getting enough plays downfield. That’s not all his fault. Can they continue to run the ball as well as they did Sunday against Buffalo. If they can. That should open up more of the play action. And they’ve got to find ways to push the ball downfield to Olave to Shaheed to Brandin Cooks. Jajuan Johnson in the seams as a tight end. And of course swinging it out to Alvin Kamara. But Kendre Miller he’s a revelation as a runner this past Sunday. They need more of that as well to help out Spencer Rattler Charles we appreciate your time. We could do like little Charles Davis or something like that. That could be your name from now on. You know if I’d been if I’d been Penny Hardaway and I’d been little Penny, I might have been Little Half cent, I don’t know, maybe something like that. Little one eighth. Who knows? There you go. I like it, Charles. Have fun down there in New Orleans. Be safe getting down there as well. Taking a look at the lineup of what we got coming up on CBS sports this weekend. On Sunday. Broncos and Eagles. Texans. Ravens. Giants. Saints. As I mentioned we just talked to Charles as well. And then Bucs at Seahawks. That is

Saints first win of the season
Jaxson gonna beat the Mess outta the Aints !
13 game win streak?๐ค
Saints wonโt be able to deal with the Giants pass rush,. The Giants will be able to run as well. Giants have ๐ฏ, Saints have Rattlerโฆ. Giants win this one
Slayton was only targeting once in week one. But in this win his big pass interference was key. The problem was that Slayton being targeted would take coverage off Nabers. Now, how about using TE's? We better get one than can catch. Fidone had good hands pre-season
enough of the idiocy, regarding restaurants!
Lets go dart take over
So some wealthy turd nugget can say who comes into his business and who doesn't based on how they look? And yet small business owners can't say no to a nazi maga chud?๐๐ผ

CBS continues to dog the Saints (sure they are losing again). I guess because of the FOX contract.
