Aaron Boone after Yankees win AL Wild Card Series

And this team dropped the first game of this series only to battle back and win two straight. How proud are you of the effort in punching your ticket to the division series? Yeah, so proud of these guys. We’ve had our backs against the wall. It felt like really the whole second half playing a lot of really meaningful games. I knew we wouldn’t flinch after game one, but you still never know what’s going to happen. You know, this going into this, it felt like the most pressure packed game I’ve ever experienced. World Series, clinching games, whatever. Um, and the guys came out and obviously Cam was the story. It just was absolutely dominant. But, um, it’s a lot of fun to win this game, you know, against our rivals and, uh, the crowd was amazing. Might have been pressure packed for you, but Cam Schlitler looked like he had ice in his veins. You send a rookie to the mound in a winner go home situation. He doesn’t just deliver, he dominates. Erin, how was he able to so easily navigate through that lineup? He’s the star is born tonight. He’s special kid, man. I’m telling you, it’s obviously amazing stuff. Um, but he’s shown us this from the jump. Like, he is not afraid. He expects this. And, uh, what I’m not going to say what he told me last night, but I’m not surprised at all by what he did. Hey, in that fourth inning, you guys were able to get to early. What was it that you guys picked up on that allowed you to put some runs on the board? First of all, he’s a great looking young pitcher as well, and he’s going to be a problem moving forward for us. But, um, I thought we just pressured him. We didn’t hit a ton of balls on the nose necessarily. I just thought we had really good, tough, winning at bats against a guy that was really mixing it up quite a bit against us. Great defense throughout the series. How about that play Ryan McMahon made there in the bottom of the eighth inning on Durant. Yeah, sh flashback to Gio Area going into the dugout a few years ago. I sprinted. I was a little nervous. Make sure he was okay. But what a great play by a great defender. Blue Jays next. Are you ready to go, Aaron? What’s the key in that one? We’re going to enjoy this for about 45 minutes and then when we get on the bird headed north in a couple hours, we’ll start shifting our attention. Obviously, a great team in our division that we’re familiar with and uh looking forward to the challenge of it. Erin, congratulations. Go talk to your team. Thank you. Send it back to you,

  1. Tonight was the position player line-up that Boone should have sent up during game one. Start your best players – no more of this lefty righty thing. It is playoff time, not July.

  2. I never understand the huge celebration after a WC win. I understand celebrating a Division championship or MAYBE (big MAYBE) even just making the playoffs. But what are teams celebrating (with champagne and everything) when they win the WC?? Yay, they are WC champions?? Is that even a thing??

There's basically three championships. Division, League, World Series. Those are really the only time teams should be allowed to celebrate so extensively.

  3. Listen, I’m the first criticized Boone, but the past two games I think he learned from Korra. He sent his starters out and he kept them rocking even when things got a little shaky and he let them go longer than usual. I’m not a fan of the first game decision by sitting rice and jazz, but at least it was a thought of ha let’s get a good matchup. It’s not the best and we see that we need those guys in but regardless, we’re trying new shit and Boone is learning. He ain’t perfect but boy we fucking needed him to make some different changes in. At least he’s starting to maybe do that shit

  8. Boone has an extemely tough choice to make as to whether to start Gil or Warren in game 1. I believe that he should probably go with Gil, who we know can be dominant IF he throws strikes and gets ahead in counts. Walking too many of these Blue Jays early would probably be unrecoverable..

  9. BOONE IS STILL AN ASSHOLE DUMMY ——-WELLS AND VOLPE BELONG IN AAA ——YOU GOT A GREAT PITCHING PERFORMANCE THAT BAILED YOUR ASS OUT ——-YOU AND CASHMAN ARE BOTH ASSHOLE LOSERS AND WHEN THE BLUE JAYS BEAT – MAYB E YOU WILL BE FIRED ——-DID WELLS AND VOLPE GIVE YOU A BLOW JOB
