  7. Ahhh my favorite part of the year. Lakers preseason when this sub can hyper focus on every new lakers signing in meaningless games while not caring about their own teams. But still early enough in the season where they forget that they “hate” every post being about the Lakers.

  16. Ayton has been in the NBA for 7 years now, he is who he is. He talks the talk then goes out there and is the exact same player everyone knows him to be. He’s not going to change or turn a corner

  18. Ayton is a very talented scorer and if youre not incorporating that in some capacity then youre a bad coach. Im not saying feed him the rock, but looking at his history and saying “yea we’re going to implement this guy as a defender exclusively” then youre a moron.

  20. I do believe Ayton is one of the more intriguing pieces in the entire league going into the season.

    If he tries continuously, the Lakers got a free difference maker.

    If he doesn’t put forth effort and/or gets injured, the Lakers will be in real trouble.

    Ayton is a serviceable but not remarkable center that fills an area of need on the Lakers. I struggle to see how the forced narratives around him (especially in preseason) are interesting to anyone who isn’t a Lakers or Suns fan.

  26. That’s the attitude we need. He has Luka running the show and all Ayton needs to do is be where Luka needs him while also defending at a high level. That’s it. It’s simple.

  27. I think it’s pretty clear now over the years that when you’re on a team with LeBron, you’re there to do what you’re told haha probably a contributing factor to the Kyrie leaving aspect too.

    Luka is certainly the primary asset now from an organization view but when on the court the players still gonna follow LeBron and he gone tell you how to play haha

  28. It’s almost as if he doesn’t realize he’s usually the biggest dude out there and can use that to his advantage. I wish he had that dawg Amare had in him and would just go straight at people. He needs to impose his will. He just lacks that and sadly at this point it doesn’t seem like that will ever dawn on him.

  30. Reminds me a lot of Andre Wiggins. Scary as hell during Golden State’s last championship run when he cared, then reverted to his normal, apathetic nature. Baffling and infuriating. Going to be a bumpy season in LA.

  33. That’s a fine mentality when Luka and Lebron are out but when both those guys are out he needs to step it up on the offensive end too.

  34. I was at the game last night. After a blown layup and a timeout, he was clearly angry and slapped the bench hard. Ayton tends to get in his head a lot and I don’t think being under the Lakers spotlight is going to be good for him.

  35. At the end of the day its preseason and him doing good or doing bad means nothing. Especially when the whole idea is Luka and LeBron both incredible pasers can unlock Aytons full potential.
