My name is Drew Frankle. I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Jackie. We have three kids together. We love going to the beach as a family, going on hikes. We’re just a bunch trying to make it through this crazy life. I did a fifth year at Notre Dame. I had a graduate class my last year. And in that graduate class, I saw this other kid playing chess online and I’m like, “What is that app? And what are you doing?” And so I’ve I’ve been playing ever since. My wife says this all the time. She’s like, “Drew, you love anything that you are not great at and is a challenge?” And I feel like chess for me is that it’s something that you can always get better at and it’s something that someone is always better than you at. It’s a really complicated game. There’s a lot of different maneuverings you have to make and I like the complexity of that. I like the challenge of it. This app, Chess.com, we thought it’d be a good idea. Let’s get NFL guys who love to play chess and let’s live stream a chess tournament. 2 days before the tournament, a seat opened up for me and I was able to join and I was able to win that tournament. So, I became the Blitz champion. It’s cool to see how AI and all these different technologies are creating these unique opportunities. You can play a bot. Drew Tranquil. You’ll get a very live shot at what it would be like to play me. And I think they even throw a little bit of trash talking, maybe a little chief’s talk in there. The persona of chess was like this is an old man woman’s game in the park. Kids are like playing chess and they’re cheating their parents. And so I think it’s just cool to see the accessibility to the young generation to anybody with a phone and internet can now get engaged with this ancient amazing Shame.
