I was only three days old, so I have no memory of this. But it's a sign. I love severe weather and I love a good storm. Good thing I live in Kansas.

  1. I remember watching it on ESPN live. Derrick Thomas sat in the middle of the field while it poured lol

  2. I vividly remember watching this game in college. My younger sister was at home by herself for some reason. I remember calling her and her having no idea it was even raining (and maybe it wasn’t that bad in Johnson county).

  3. I was a Jr at Rockhurst College and we lived at a shitty off campus house. The basement flooded so badly a keg shell was floating

  4. Mom and Dad were at that game. Sec 118. I was 12 and BEGGED to go but “iTs A sChOoL nIgHt…”

  5. You were 3 days old and I was just shy of 4 months old. How do you do fellow 27 year old chiefs fan?
    Edit: and fellow Kansan

  6. I watched the game on TV; we were playing the Seahawks. Incredible deluge & lightning. I lived in Grandview at the time. Didn’t get a drop. 🤣

  7. I was at KU in the marching band and we were scheduled to perform at halftime for this game. We canceled our performance earlier in the week because of the weather. I remember watching this game in the dorm and being happy we changed plans.

On another note, we were practicing at the stadium and it started to rain. I hurried to get back to the dorm. I ended up getting into a head-on collision with some guy who swerved into my lane. I vividly remember sitting in the police car with the guy because it was pouring rain.

  8. I watched this game at a buddy’s house near Westport and it flooded the streets so we were stuck for the night lol

  9. I was in college when this game happened. It poured and poured and poured all day long. That game was fun to watch.

  10. I remember watching this game. We lived an hour north of KC on rural farm land. There was a creek that flooded rapidly with that storm and washed a guy and his car away. He was found dead almost 20 miles down the Platte River. That was the only time I ever remember that creek flooding at all and it did so dramatically. I remember helicopters circling for a day or two trying to find him.

  11. I was at this game! Section 104 with my pop. Had a cheap chiefs hat that it rained so hard that the dye bled and looked like I was bleeding from my face. We were 9 rows from the field and the bottom row had so much standing water.

  12. I was there. It was amazing. This was back when the Seahawks were in the division so this was a big game. I will never forget when Warren Moon got hurt and the backup QB came in. 21 players were big blobs of mud and this QB looked like he was glowing in his fresh clean white jersey.

  13. I was at that game. My girlfriend at the time and I drove up from Warrensburg and were barely able to make it as 50 Hwy was flooded at 7. The stairways were literal waterfalls. It wasn’t cold so it wasn’t that bad, but it was still crazy.

  14. My dad and I had season tickets on the club level, we didn’t get wet unless the rain was blowing right at us.

  15. My dad and brother were there and sat in the front row of the top section and water was pouring over the top of the concrete wall in front of them. Basically their seats were completely submerged.

  16. I got to go out on the field for the coin toss during that game! I will never forget it.

  17. I remember watching this game and was amazed at the amount of rain coming down the stairs

  18. I was working there as a face painter of all things. They let me off early but I couldn’t leave. Also had a friend drown in the flood at brush creek that night.

  19. It was a sad year, the end of the Schottenheimer era. Marty may have never gotten us over the hump, but he coached some great teams.

  20. I scrolled to confirm, but my first thought was “Seahawks”. I was pleased that my terrible memory has kept track of the important stuff

  21. One of my lifetime moments is seeing DT sitting on the field after the game with helmet off and just sitting there with the rain and his just blank stare of he gave it all he could and was totally spent.

  22. I was at this game, it was absolutely crazy. So glad we were sitting under the overhang. Something I’ll never forget.

  23. That was such an awesome game to witness, even on TV. Such an incredible amount of water standing on the field.

  24. Loved this game against Seattle and Warren Moon Rison came up big and DT was still dominating loved watching on TNT old school

  25. They won that game to go to 4-1. Then, they went 3-8 the rest of the way. Including a six game losing streak following that game.

What in the world happened? That was a team who were SB contenders in 1997. They lost a low scoring game to the eventual SB champion Broncos. The arrow appeared to be pointing up headed into 98.
