Could Red Sox legend become next Mets coach?

  1. Manny sure was a tremendous hitter. It is intriguing, but the great ones are not always the best coaches.

  2. I mean.. if we’re all honest.. regardless of results, we all loyally & awesome fanedly (not a word).. watched so many innings of some of the most boring baseball imaginable.

I’m for it just for the make it at least not boring aspect

  3. As hilarious as this would be, Manny being Manny is not really a coaching philosophy.

  4. On the one hand, Manny Ramirez has one of the best swings of his generation so he’s probably legitimately got a lot to teach. He’s not just a random Steroid Era dude who cruised by on power.

On the flipside, he’s a known headcase and who knows whether he’s actually good at teaching what he knows. I think the Mets should definitely interview him, but as part of a wide process where they evaluate a lot of guys for the role.

  5. I would’ve been with it if I didn’t see him on insta taking hitting tips from teacheman and some no name hitting coach. Imagine that hall of fame caliber hitter taking advise from Bozos.

  6. How about we just get the best coaches possible and not be someone’s trial and error learning curve experiment. Cool? Thanks… we also have our own legends far more qualified if we want to go that route.

  7. Manny’s got a great instagram account where he gives batting tips and he’s still in excellent shape. I’m a huge manny fan. Make it happen.

  8. we have to get away from thinking the best hitters make the best hitting coaches. If that were true, Eric Chavez would have been the best hitting coach in MLB this year by far

  9. Genuine question, what are peoples gripes about Mendoza?
Just honestly trying to understand where all the Mendoza hate is coming from
