New Orleans Pelicans vs SE Melbourne Phoenix Full Game Highlights | October 4, 2025 | NBA Preseaso
Brian Forte, Jason Goldenberg, Bradair, our three men in charge as well for the NBA series. Well, that’s the NBA rule in play right there. Jordy from the three-point line. He’d be anxious as well. He’s another one that has NBA aspirations to just a young man. But one thing we haven’t actually talked about with this used to, you know, the more sweat on your hands, the better it feels. So early on in the game, it’s a bit of a different feel. But I guess this is different to what we’ve seen in the first two games. They they’re much more retreated, not picking up and wow, they might need to have a look at some weak side help. Melbourne series. A sellout once again at Rod Lab Arena. Pull catch and shoot. It’s good. Yeah. Flat looking jumper from Gorge Gak who checks into the game. Looney in transition. That to themselves a little bit. They’ve been so busy enjoying the night life most nights as well. So, um, you know, it’s a credit to what Melbourne’s doing. Certainly looking higher than what it was Friday. Couldn’t connect that time. Great ball movement. Phoenix Glover with a wide open look. Gak with the offensive rebound. This is better out of the timeout. That’s it. I mean, I’d like to see a little bit more ball movement. They just got a wide open three from some ball movement. Those ones are going to look a lot better on arena [Music] puts the ball on the floor. Nice handles. He’s going to keep getting his shots up. Reminds me of someone we know. But the pull the crossover. Nice take and the finish. Be entertaining to see that live. Hang on to your hats. Could be a fun second quarter. Sadique Bay has knocked down a second looking exactly the way that they would like right now. Yeah. I mean, this man here has it going. That’s three. That’s it. Short. As we saw on Friday night, the Pelicans are looking to get into their offense quickly and attack. Find a way to take this pace out of the game, Phoenix, because it’s right in New Orleans’s sweet spot at the moment. Foster the youngster against the shot clock. Nice finish. They’ve already put up 10. Foster for a catch here. There we go. Clean up the defense a bit here. First time we’re seeing a catch a leader in a Southeast Melbourne Phoenix jersey. Hasn’t played the first couple of games because of personal reasons. It’s high pressure in this game. I actually thought they would come out and be like, you know, cool breeze. Look, it’s this has this has energy of a regular season game, right? A lot of the game now is a lot of switching, a lot of, you know, getting out of position and position. This is what they trying to move to. So, it is. Yeah. Fitness and being mobile is extremely important. Yeah. Williamson crosscourt. Come on, we watch Jordan and I warm up with sunglasses on. That was Is that something you would do? I would definitely not uh wear sunglasses in warm up, nor would my team had an issue with our man Andrew Gays who kept touching him. I’m very tactile. Are you okay with being touched? So energy is real. Thank you. Me and Gazy, we know each other back in 2000. That was Vince. That was not me. That was You were You were provoking him. You you would never provoke, would you? You you won it. Yeah, man. I always say anything when it’s one more than the Lakers is anything. You know what I’m saying? Anything better than one of the Lakers is is great. You know, have you seen him? He He looks like he’s he’s he’s ahead of schedule. He’s on the court. He’s doing Yeah. You saw how he look really medicine, man. Modern. Look at LeBron. LeBron’s down there 50 playing still. Oh, man. That’s incredible. Wow, look at he’s up to eight. His mindset was locked in during his workout. We learned from that by watching. That’s huge. That’s huge. I think you need veterans. Veterans are able to different areas of the big. And you know, he sees and understands the game differently than what he was given credit for throughout points of his career. From Hun to Maldonado in the Phoenix learning and understanding, growing. You know, they a lot of a lot of players watch film and say they watch film, but man, there’s access to these people instead of just picking up. Yeah. I don’t know. I don’t know. I’m sure I could adjust to it if we started to play it more constantly. Yeah. Place through the coach. Nice finish for the next stop. That was tough. That was tough. So, I wanted to say uh earlier about uh Jordan Pool. If you don’t know Jordan Pool uh is his nickname, Nice L by the way. Yes. unsuccessful long rebound Malik Lewis we go. There’s that ball movement you were talking about movement to open. So the problem is the 48 minutes. Can they keep that up? So this right here is decent too. I like here we go. Here we go. They’re picking it up with the speed. Oh, that’s exactly what I wanted to see earlier. Just a little movement. We We got our own We got our own Minnesota Timberwolf now. And Roco Big Roco is out there. Oh, really? So, okay. That one’s going to be a fun one. This team there. He’s out there with a catcher, Daniel Foster, Owen Foxwell, and Malik Lewis. So, small lineup out here for the Phoenix right now, which means that they of time living in Melbourne every year. Yeah. Well, look at Williamson behind the back nearly got taken out. A couple of Very nice youngsters come through the Oklahoma system the last few years. Blake Griffin, Trey Young as well. So they rips baseline. Pelicans really getting this ball to hum. Shot clock at four. Sadique Bay with another deep three. One of the hardest rollers in Australian basketball. Jordy Hunter Peace three. That’s the bottom of the net and they are need to Yeah, you you might get exposed but just try and do a better job of running them off the three-point line and that might happen. Plays like that might happen and when they’re rebound taken care of by Sadik Bay, he’s got a full head of steam. Gets that to drop. Andrew Lopez, but a lot of positives that the Pelicans can take away from this weekend. BC being one of them and the work they do before a game. It’s a full-on workout. It’s not just a regular warm up. Look out. And the passes pregame times they they split it up. There’s a long period, but in your moments, you’re working on your game shots. Mi comes down the lane with another bit of thunder. John Brown brings the ball up the floor. All hands on deck to get these rebounds and it pays off. and quicker. You just get forced to play quicker and can make it a bit tougher. Oh, hello. [Applause] Foster off the handoff. Spent 5 years of college at Nevada, but familiar to a lot of our international viewers broke. His attention to detail. He was not happy with the defensive transition. Be happy for the Phoenix today. again. Would have loved to see Malik shoot that last one. I know we been a quick shot, but they they got the penetration. They got shot the ball well. In fact, it’s tapered though. They started off in blistering form of safety. So checks three-point line. The 11 of 31. No, this is a beautiful place to play today. Hope Josh gives him a longer look next game [Music] on two. that camp. Some some pundits, some media are a little bit down on the Pels, but this is still a team that won 49 games two seasons ago. You know about the injuries that happened a year ago. Zion. Oh, that was nice. Yeah. Straight up and off the floor. He’s been sitting for probably a couple of hours by now. and to come out and show that type of athleticism. And even that last possession there, he gets another opportunity for we going to guard this guy cuz that that was my benefit in Boston was they would let me stand out there because they wanted to stop um Kyrie or Gordon or Rosia coming off down the lane and I was left wide open from the three-point line. Shoe with a nice take. Another of these young guys looking for opportunities with the Pels this season. Tough finish from Foster. Got a couple good finishes. Simon with the Pelicans in May. Hunter Dickinson after going undrafted. Fast world runners there. They all who there are three that I’m aware of. Joel now playing college basketball to Melbourne. A genuine success. The New Orleans Pelicans come to Australia, play
