This was just released but clearly shows the author isn't on top of what is going on with the team. All the stats talk about last season and don't mention anything about training camp and the preseason. Cootes isn't even mentioned and they have Hoggs in the line up. Bad look for the NHL having someone so out of touch write a story like this.

  1. Picking Willander as the training camp surprise really nails home OP’s point. It reads like it was written 4 weeks ago.

  2. I think Drance has covered stuff like this (?)

Journalists write these well in advance because the site has to coordinate/edit 30 team previews. Something like this happened with an NFL team preview which listed a deceased player on the depth chart due to lag.

Not a gotcha, but a reminder local reporters are best for Canucks coverage

  3. I dont think he watched any canucks preseason games. He said willander has a good training camp and potentially surprised everyone. Lol

  4. It’s how these writers get paid a good salary to be a sub-par hockey fan that really grinds my gears

  5. Do you think any actual work goes into these, or do they just put down what information they’ve loosely retained over browsing the internet?

  6. Pathetic excuse of journalism. The guy didn’t even have the motivation and care to update the article. Report it to the NHL website if possible and call him out on social media.

  7. Canucks local media is some of the best IMO. I think we take it for granted sometimes.
