Sounds like a 1-year deal (as expected) but no official word on AAV yet. It will be low/immaterial lol
Edit: 1-year, $1MM
It is what it is. Decent depth signing.
I hoped Del Mastro or Korchinski could have made the team but they had bad preseasons and you can’t reward that.
Meh, just grateful it’s not tinordi
I thought he looked better and better as the preseason games went on. With Murph the only guy on the backend over 24 years old and likely gone at the deadline it makes sense to have another vet back there. Also gives us some PP insurance in case lev/Rinzel miss games.
There’s no shame in allowing our defensive prospects to marinate further at Rockford.
At 1MM per, he’d be great trade deadline potential.
It’s like Del Mastro got zapped by the MonStars. 40 pts last year. Hopefully he can move the puck to Bedard and Nazar and tune the offense up a bit. Although 6th D don’t usually have that much impact
Knew it. So many of the young dmen didn’t look ready. Korchinski’s play looked especially troubling. Grzelcyk it is, then.
Not the worst signing. The defense last night was practically non-existent. I am really worried we take a step backwards this year particularly on defense. Beyond Rinzel & Vlasic I think we see a sharp drop in performance.
I support it
League on notice.
Not opposed to this, he looked decent throughout camp/preseason and it’s an upgrade on Brodie. Does somewhat concern me tho they don’t have faith in EDM, Allan, Korch, Crevier. But he can play with any of the RDs and can cover RD as well. As evidence with Rinzel the other night. Guys like this are so valuable.
If Kaiser and Arty can establish a solid 2nd pair, I think we’ll be okay but really need one of Allan, EDM, Korch to figure it out quick. Can always find 6/7 type guys in FA and a spot for that rare prospect that comes through. Or hell keeping Murphy or Crevier is fine for 6/7 guys. Allan and EDM should be top pair in Rockford getting big minutes. Those two seem to be a step ahead of Korch, who I think is ultimately going to get traded, he’ll soon be in a situation like Reichel but they’re still young, so who knows.
