In reality the Steelers have had that title for decades because they did marketing in Mexico since the Terry Bradshaw days. Congrats to the 49ers brass for getting us to to the same level. They always did positive fan engagement and it didn’t hurt that we’ve had players with roots in Mexico. I know Fred Warner has, so did Alfredo Gutierrez and from 8 years ago Shayne Skov. I know I’m probably forgetting some guys so I’m sorry in advance.

As a Mexican I can confirm it’s popular down there (though you also see a good amount of Steelers, cowboys, and raiders get repped as well)

Well since we’re California’s team and a significant portion of our fan base is Mexican American (unlike those Texans iykyk) then yeah, goddamn right we’re Mexico’s team.
Japan too. The amount of niners merch all over in Japan is CRAZY. they have alot of our old vintage stuff too. I came home with such great buys
