Vikings vs. Browns goes DOWN TO THE WIRE in London!

through in the past five
seasons. And he still has that
production. It’s Carson Wentz starting his third straight
game for the Vikings. Trailing
by three. Low snap. Wentz able to hand it off. And a big hole
up the middle for Mason who
gains nine. Second down and one. Take a look. The snap could
have almost been a disaster for
the offense. Instead it ends up being a nice gain Jordan Mason
going through the heart of that
Browns defense. Second down and one. Wentz to the outside.
Caught by Nailor for a Vikings
first down Martin brought him down in bounds. So the clock
continues to run. 30. Vikings
scored a touchdown on the opening drive of the second
half. Pass. Is caught out to
the 38 yard line. It’s Hockenson. Down to 205 as the
clock continues to run a gain
of six. And that will take us to the two minute warning.
Wentz taken down on the last
drive by Collins. But now with are some good games. Got a
three point game here with two
minutes remaining. And now Justin Jefferson at the bottom
of the screen lined up against
Denzel Ward. Second down and four. Wentz over the middle.
First down across midfield T.J.
Hockenson. And what you’re going to see is a lot of T.J.
Hockenson going right over and
sitting on the zone. What was interesting is that they rolled
the zone away from Denzel Ward.
Yet Carson Schlesinger went a little too far. And then
Hockenson went right underneath
where he was kind of 15. His sixth catch today. And now
Jefferson able to make the
catch matched up with Denzel Ward. Another Vikings first
down. That’s just beautiful
Carson Wentz recognizing last time it was one on one. No help.
Same thing happens here. Four
time Pro Bowler Denzel Ward. He’s usually good in that. But
those 5050 balls they’re always
going to go to Justin Jefferson. Browns call time out charge
timeout Cleveland following the
21 yard reception by Jefferson. Coming up the Mercedes-Benz
postgame highlights and
analysis and an interview with the star of the game that’s
coming up on the Mercedes Benz
postgame down to a minute ten with the Vikings already in
field goal range trailing by
three, you see how quickly the momentum changes. The situation
changes, right? Because now the
Vikings are in field goal range. They still have that timeout
which Kevin Stefanski didn’t
force Kevin O’Connell to take. So you have a timeout. You’re
able to still run your offense
right. Run the football if you want. Still have the passing
play. So now defensively you’re
worried about not allowing them to score the touchdown. What
you’re really worried about is
how do we force a three and out or excuse me not a three and
out force the throw down. So
they only kick it as opposed to a touchdown. Wentz swings it
out to Nailor. There’s some
forces him out of bounds at the 23 yard line. Gain of five. And
one thing about Jim Schwartz’s
defense it’s not complicated. So when you spread them out
empty it. It allows Carson
Wentz to really read the defense. Know who’s coming know
who’s not coming. This defense
is very physical but it’s not taxing on you mentally. And
that’s why you see Kevin
O’Connell liking to have these motions out to empty. Make it
easy for Wentz to figure out
where he wants to go with the football. Second down and five.
Mason makes the catch. Mason
tripped up by Miles Hardin. Gain of two down to the 21 yard
line just over a minute
remaining. Biggest thing he got out of bounds. So the clock has
stopped and the Vikings still
have that timeout. All right. Kevin O’Connell out for a chat
with Scott Novak. Third down
and three upcoming for the Vikings. Both coaches with
questions for the officials.
Looks like they’re trying to determine if Jordan Mason
actually got out of bounds. Or
was his knee down prior to having that ball out of bounds?
After reviewing the runner’s
knee was down inbounds. Clock was at 59 seconds. Cleveland is
elected to take a charge
timeout. So we do not run 10s. So second charge timeout for
Cleveland. Play clock will be
at 25. Game clock at 59. There you saw the knee go down before
the ball touched out of bounds.
And Cleveland takes a timeout instead of the ten second
runoff. And Cleveland is doing
that because now they need to preserve time. As I mentioned
the situation has changed. Now
Kevin Stefanski, he’s worried about if the Vikings score a
touchdown here. He needs time
on the clock for Dillon Gabriel in that offense to go down and
try and score two seconds back
on the clock. Now at 59 seconds Gabriel can only watch. Third
down and three. Mason in the
backfield. Addison in motion on third down. Wentz complete for
a first down. It’s Addison at
the Browns 17. Nice play call Addison is basically running
away from Myles Harden. The
nickel corner the whole time. That is a tough coverage for
Myles Harden. The best he can
do is just make the tackle. But it was enough for a first down.
Browns use their final timeout.
So a new set of downs for the Vikings who trail by three
Minnesota with one timeout
remaining. The Browns are out of timeouts and going back to
this one timeout for the
Vikings. It is very hard to call a play defensively because
your gym shorts, you know they
can still run the ball. They can still pass the ball
anywhere. Not just taking shots
to the end zone because there’s so much time left. Plus they
have the timeout. Just taking
it back to that third down play, Dillon Gabriel throws an
incompletion. That’s why it was
important to run the football, run some clock off or force
them to use a timeout. Wentz
quick release. It’s Addison on first down inside the 15 and
taken down inbounds. And you
can see the Vikings offense very familiar with this
situation. No panic by them.
They’re already up to the line of scrimmage Carson Wentz
getting the play call. And now
is the time where you need a Myles Garrett. That’s Browns
defense to step up. Make one of
these game changing plays. Wentz second and five Addison
he’s got it. Touchdown. What a
throw what a throw what a drive what a throw. And Addison is
the one making the play. Second
half we said we need to see more of him. He comes up big
for the Vikings getting that
touchdown. Taking the lead with 25 seconds to go. He did not
play in the first quarter
coach’s decision. We saw him sparingly in the second quarter,
but a huge second half for
Jordan Addison. The extra point is good with 25 seconds
remaining, the Vikings now lead
by four. And Jordan Addison I mean this is just the route is
good. The throw is great.
Denzel Ward was baiting him. He was baiting Carson Wentz
thinking he could never make
that throw. Going right over the top of him for the
beautiful catch. And the
touchdown for the Vikings. What a play. That was such a nice
throw I can’t emphasize enough
how good of a throw that was. That is big league Aaron
Rodgers Patrick Mahomes. Those
are the ones that take chances on that type of throw and put a
beautiful touch over the
defender for the touchdown. Addison had a big day last week
in Dublin against the Steelers.
Wentz heading downfield to celebrate Garrett and the
Browns now trail by four with
only 25 seconds on the clock. Who would have ever thought it
would be the Browns defense
that doesn’t hold up? Fourth quarter. They’ve been playing
phenomenal all game long. That
one drive. The Vikings had their number sealed it with a
very nice throw by Wentz to
Addison. Kickoff taken by Ford at the three. Sampson leading
the way. Ford out to the 30.
And here’s Dillon Gabriel. His day so far has been really good.
He’s able to get the ball out
there. He likes those outbreaking routes putting
enough on it. The ball
placement was there. And you know he’s mobile enough to get
out there throwing a touchdown
to Harold Fannin. Another one to David Njoku. So it’s not
like it’s too big for him. It’s
just that you got 25 seconds 21 seconds 21 seconds. Now to go
71 yards without a timeout.
Right. Gabriel on first down throws over the middle. It’s
caught across midfield by bond.
They do not have a timeout clock running. And now Gabriel
will spike it 23 yard
connection from Gabriel to Bond. And now we have seven seconds
remaining. And the ball at the
Vikings 49. If I if I’m seven seconds I don’t know if I want
to try to get greedy and see if
I can pick up a quick chunk play to the outside throw. You
know, a seven route, 15 yards
and out to the sideline before going for it all on a Hail Mary.
Vikings drop three all the way
back. Seven seconds. Gabriel sets. Heaves it downfield to
the end zone. It is picked off.
Sounded like a whistle. May have been blown prior to the
snap. Where the Vikings
attempted to call time out. Looked like O’Connell tried to
call time out prior to the ball
being snapped. We had an acknowledgment of a timeout for
Minnesota. All right, so Kevin
O’Connell did call timeout 30s. So they will reset the clock
and the bright the Browns will
get another opportunity. Yeah. There is Kevin O’Connell. Yeah.
Signaling to the official yeah
he wanted that timeout. And now he doesn’t want the timeout
after he sees the interception.
So the ball plays back at the 49 yard line with seven seconds
remaining. Three Vikings back
along the goal line as Gabriel throws. And it is caught by
thresh. But that will do it.
Clock runs all the way down. Yeah I know what they were
trying to do. Trying to get it
over the top to thrash. He runs out of bounds. That is a
tremendous play. Jeff Okudah
tripping him up before he can get out of bounds. Clock runs
out Minnesota gets the victory.
Vikings go to five zero in

  1. The Sanders fans trying so hard to ruin Gabriel’s career. It’s pathetic. They ruined the draft and the preseason. Now the regular season too

  2. Strange play call by Browns AFTER the Vikings timeout. Maybe the Browns only had one Hail Mary play and they showed their hand and the Vikings stopped it.

  3. The browns are a joke time for them to be the browns in another city so they can embarrass that city and their fans. It gets old that their season is over every year before the 5th or 6th game.

  4. Gabriel looked better than I expected, but with Stefanski’s high-school offense and no quality receivers, the only consistent way the Browns could gain yards was Judkins running.

The Browns’ defense was outplayed. They weren’t able to get stops early, and were fatigued in the last 2 minutes. Stefanski’s incompetent clock management helped the Vikings in their final drive. Stefanski should be fired tonight!
