NBAxNBL Melbourne Series – New Orleans Pelicans vs South East Melbourne Phoenix Game Highlights
from Jacksonville, Florida at a High Point College number zero, John Brown the third NBA draft number zero getting it going for Maya Fear. We haven’t seen Southeast Melbourne play since last Thursday when they took on Melbourne in the cross town throwdown and they were very disappointing in that performance. So, a chance for them to bounce back as well. Last Thursday against Melbourne United, really the only positive that they could take away from the game. Just like that. Jord first points of the afternoon for the Phoenix has got the ball Williamson away to a good start again. So, nice find inside for Hunter. Yeah, that’s a tough match up though cuz I get five points already for Jordan Paul, their leading scorer. Flat looking jumper from Gorge Gak who checks into the game. Looney in transition Williamson. [Music] A head pass for Cavon Looney. The entire team. I know Larry’s made sure that the entire city’s looked after them very well. Take from Jeremiah Fears. Confidence need to be more disruptive because right now they’re in their preferred defensive positions. Yeah, 100%. And if they cross that split line a couple times, you know, the defense has to move. [Music] Fear puts the ball on the floor. Nice handles. He’s going to keep getting his shots up. [Laughter] Pull the crossover. Nice take and the finish shove from Jordan P. Find a way to take this pace out of the game, Phoenix, because it’s right in New Orleans’s sweet spot at the moment. the youngster against the shot clock. Nice finish. Yeah, to see that. Foster for a catch here. There we go. There’s another You see him? He He looks like he’s he’s he’s ahead of schedule. He’s on the court. He’s doing Yeah. You saw how he looked coming along really quickly, right? you know, he sees and understands the game differently than what he was given credit for throughout points of his career. From Hunson to Maldonado, the Phoenix staying a lot of players watch film and say they watch film, but man, there’s access to these people instead of just picking up, you know, from video. Yeah. I don’t know. I don’t know. I’m sure I could adjust to it if we started to play it more constantly. Yeah. Play through the coach. Nice finish for the next stop. That was tough. That was tough. He’s got a full head of steam. Gets that to drop. Andrew Lopez, just take us through what the next few weeks looks like for the New Orleans Pelicans after today. Up to 13 points now. [Music] Oh, the jump off of Bay. [Music] John Brown brings the ball up the floor. All hands on deck to get these rebounds and it pays off. [Applause] Foster off the handoff. Spent five years of college at Nevada. Familiar to a lot of our international viewers. can reset. Nice hustle from McGowan’s trying to make life difficult for Foster. Took it into the paint and somehow gets it to work. Shot without any paint penetration and that’s not what they want. So, it’s all about different looks. Don McDaniels for Hawkins. Lays it up. 10 points now for Jordan Hawkins and 11 in three and nine shooting on Saturday has been a positive for the Phoenix today would have loved to see Malik shoot that last one. I know we been a quick shot but they they got the penetration. They got to swing swing. Let it fly young fell. But this is still a team that won 49 games two seasons ago. You know about the injuries that happened a year ago. Zion. Oh, that was nice. Shoe with a nice take. Another of these young guys looking for opportunities with the Pels this season. Tough finish from Foster is that he looks seriously fit and seriously motivated into the NBL season. Big man Dickinson to flop the left hand. A genuine success. The New Orleans Pelicans come to Australia, play two games, and capture the hearts and the imagination of a nation. They win today 127 to 92.

The nbl is weak because Australian investment in JNR programs right up and through to semi pro level are honestly TRASH compared to the American system. Australian sport is unique because we do have top tier world class level atheles in this country… If we had world class junior-semi pro avenues to develop home grown talent we as a nation would be far more advanced in sports than we are. It's sad really. Shocked the pels didn't win by 50 tbh
Phx dont have the best team atm. Adelaide or Perth would give them a run and united werent far off. Phx played crap
Wildcats could take them Pels ๐๐
Other than Jordan Hunter (game top scorer), South East Melbourne were pretty ordinary to watch.
shout out to Australia, love seeing my pels play there! Keep up that hard work guys!
glad they sent the pelicans. Their D is trash. Aussies look good when the floor is spaced. Easy buckets.
