🚨BREAKING🚨 Ron Washington Will Not Manage Angels in 2026 #RepTheHalo #GoHalos #Angels #LTBU

Ron Washington will not be the Angels manager in 2026. What’s going on everybody? John Fish, one half of Locked on Angels. Taking a walk and my phone’s blown up because of the breaking news that Ron Matt Washington will not be back as the manager for the Angels. He had a thirdyear club option and he will not have that picked up. And it makes sense, you know, his health concerns. While he says that he’s healthy and fine, he did have quadruple bypass surgery. you don’t want to run into another situation where he’s under a high pressure environment where he’s got to make these crucial decisions for the team and it affects his health and his heart. So that’s totally understandable. Under Ron Washington, the team was two games under 500 this season. Under Ray Montgomery, who was also not going to be the manager next year, fortunately, the team was 20 games under 500. So that should tell you everything you need to know about uh his managerial stay as the Angels. Now, this opens up a lot of options considering there are a lot of managers who were just let go from their teams like Roco Baldelli, Bob Melvin, not particularly any two that I might choose. I know Bruce Bochi is available. He’s likely headed back to the Giants if he is going to manage. And then Skip Schumacher is part of the Rangers organization. Seems very clear to me that he will be the next manager of the Texas Rangers. Now, a lot of names out there include Tory Hunter, who’s someone that Mike and I are a big fan of. Also, Darren Ursstad would be a great choice. Albert Poolh has also tied to the club. Buck Shawwalter has been tied to the club in the past. But going back to Ron Washington, what’s his legacy going to be in Anaheim in terms of being the manager? Was this inevitable? Was this always going to happen? Was it the uh the heart issue that kind of sealed the deal for him? There’s a lot of questions to be answered. We’re going to talk about all of those on Locked on Angels, including what’s going to happen with this coaching staff because we know that with a new manager, usually comes a new coaching staff. And that’s something particularly in the offensive department, the hitting department that the Angels need a severe change in. And so we’ll talk about it all in lockdown angels.

  1. Ron Washington"s time in Anaheim I think is best described as "what might have been" Of those you mentioned, Tori Hunter or Darin Erstad are the two that stand out for me. Long term Angels. I like Pujols as a mentor but have some concerns about manager.

  2. I always appreciate how you rep Anaheim and California Angels gear. If I could buy the team rebranding more traditional would be one of the first things I’d do. Renaiming to Anaheim Angels, bringing back the big gold halo in the logo, bringing back the blue and red hat. I really hope if and when new ownership comes aboard they consider it. I don’t think having Los Angeles in the name is as important now as it was at the time when they did it for branding and sponsorships. The world is a lot smaller now and if we can have the Anaheim Ducks why not the Anaheim Angels?

  3. We need someone young! We have a young team! We need someone who can grow with the team and be a staple. We need that so we can have consistency someone like Sean mcvay for the rams or Kyle Shannahan from the niners. Love the videos guys I hope my comment one day makes the video!!!

  4. You acted like Bob Melvin was washed up, but he hasn’t been around as long as Showalter (hired by the Yankees in 1992!) and hasn’t been without a managerial or coaching job for two seasons.

  5. desperately need an entirely new coaching staff too. i dont remember the exact numbers but bottom 5 team ERA, 2nd worst team AVG, highest team batter strikeouts, bottom 5 i think in fielding percentage. the only thing we did well in this season was hit homeruns and make some comebacks here and there but you cant really rely on those things to consistently win you games in a full season.

  6. Dude, boycott all things “Arte’s Angels”. Stop paying attention to them. Economic boycott sends a clear message “sell the team”. Hit’em in his billfold. Continue to follow baseball. Plenty of other options for your obsession. He’s 79. He won’t live forever. Wait’em out.
