It’s a great time to do it because we got Major League Baseball playoffs on Sunday. NFL week five is going to take center stage. We’re starting to head towards college football week seven and we’re going to have WNBA finals and NHL beginning on Tuesday, too. For the Tigers, it’s going to be Tariq Scubble listed as a starter here, while the Mariners will counter with Luis Castillo. And Castillo was outstanding down the stretch in the month of September. uh you know his final four starts of the season gave up three runs combined in those four outnings spanning 25 and a3 innings of work the Seattle Mariners won all four of those starts from Luis Castillo as well and yeah they were against some you know weaker teams like Colorado Atlanta teams that were missing out on the playoffs the the Los Angeles Angels and even Kansas City Royals but you got to be impressed with what Castillo was able to draw up in those games and now you face the Detroit Tigers lineup that, you know, in the month of September was not all that strong against right-handed pitching. And while they are still a solid lineup with some solid talent, this is still a team that, like I said, kind of backpedalled their way into the postseason. And, you know, needed a big inning against the Cleveland Guardians to really, you know, get out of that one with a series win. So, I could see them struggle here, especially if Castillo was on point once again. But on the other side, you’ve got Tariq Scooble who, you know, is a front runner for the AL Sai Young once again and for good reason. I mean, he has been outstanding in his own right. However, it’s also worth remembering that Scooble did struggle against the Seattle Mariners, two starts against him in the regular season, 0 and2 RA just under six. But that being said, Scooble was still on point for the most part down the stretch, especially in that series against the Cleveland Guardians. He looked really good. career-high 14 strikeouts, seven and two/3 innings of one-run ball, gave up next to nothing against Cleveland in that game. And you know, it says something that Scooble quote unquote struggled down the stretch. He had his worst two months of the season in terms of erra in August and September, but it says a lot when those ERAs were, you know, 2.42 and 2.52. He has been that good. And I think that, you know, he can easily pitch well, have another strong start here. I think this is going to be a bit of a pitcher duel. I think this is going to be your prototypical playoff baseball lowscoring matchup here. So, I’m going to go with the under between the Tigers and the Mariners. And that’s going to be my free pick.
