FINAL 3 OUTS: The Toronto Blue Jays are on the brink of their first ALCS appearance since 2016! 🇨🇦
Last chance at a miracle comeback for the Yankees. Top of the order coming up here. 13-7. Anthony Dominguez. The Jays not messing around. Going to one of their top guys here. Faced two hitters yesterday. Retired them both. In there with a strike down. Gisham. Seventh reliever that John Schneider’s had to bring in. Of course, the off day tomorrow for those guys to get some rest. Gisham hooks this one foul and it’s 0 and2. Yeah, you couldn’t have wrote a better script. If you’re the Toronto Blue Jays manager saying, “Okay, here’s what we’re doing in the six days off to kind of simulate baseball. We know all the things that go on with the team with the buy, but then we’re going to come out.” Yep. exercise what we do well and never miss a beat. I I just think it’s been incredible what Toronto has done. The bats of ball ability we’ve seen all year, we saw some power, but not quite to this degree. Seven homers in two games, a strike out of Gisham to open the ninth. So, we’ve given uh the headline for the Yankees tomorrow, at least the story for the Yankees tomorrow. Kenny, do you have a headline and or a story in the papers tomorrow for the Blue Jays? Well, my headline would be first the combined score 23 to8 of the two games as of right now. And then I would say, how do you like this exchange rate? Nice. Now, the story would be, oh, I don’t know, you Savage and Guerrero and Baro and Clement and on and on and on. And what is so remarkable to me about the Blue Jays guys is that you go back to the start of spring training, you could not see this coming. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had not yet agreed to his extension. He was a potential free agent. Bob Bashette still a potential free agent. The front office was under fire. The team as a whole could not have been expected to do this. Springer had a horrible spring. And yet, it’s one of those years where it has all come together, where the role players have emerged, the stars have played like stars, and here they are one win away potentially from the American League Championship Series. And even two months into the season, Kenny, after they got clear of spring training, they were still not good. They’re below 500, way out of first place. Well, as you said, it all come together. Gone to another level here so far. How about this for a headline given what Kenny said. Savage and then in parentheses an S. Yeah. Well, that’s what Aaron Boon called his offense at one point. That’s right. Nope. Judge takes the walk aboard for the fourth time today. Two walks, two singles. So, he’s hitting 450 in the playoffs with an on base above 500. One on base runner. Here’s Bellinger. Knocked in three over the last two innings. It was all Yankees in the first half when you’re looking in the division and the race and you see that it comes down to a tie. 94 wins. 94 wins. All Yankees in the first half. It turned with a four-game sweep that we’ve referenced a couple times in this building. Start of July. Blue Jays did not fall out of first place after that. Yeah, they fell into a tie, but it’s kind of like that series never ended. The Blue Jays averaged nine runs per game. Wow. Nine runs per game. And then they do even better than that in the two games here. Going to go to eight and one against the Yankees in Toronto this year. Two and two on Cody Bellinger. Little long. Bouncing ball towards the middle at first. Two out. It’s Ben Rice who’s gotten his first two hits in this series. His last two times up. As good as the Jays have been against the Yankees in their own building, the Yankees have been pretty darn good against the Jays back in the Bronx. 4-2 at home this year against Toronto. The motto here for the Blue Jays in town is want it all. They weren’t satisfied just getting their first win in the postseason in nine years, winning the division for the first time in a decade. Sight set on winning it all. And they have looked every bit the part of a potential World Series champ in these two games. No, they have. And and and and really you think about whatever pitchers on the mound against them, I don’t think they have fear. I think they feel like they can at least compete and put the ball in play and get their hits cuz that’s what they’ve shown. Now, I’m sure they wouldn’t want to face one of their own. Savage, he might he might be the equalizer. Well, if it gets to a game four, they’re going to face the Yankees version of that, Cam Schlitler. Well, I I got to give the young man credit. Look, there’s there’s a couple ways that game could have gone today for him being unknown unknown. He commanded the baseball. He wasn’t off in any way. Didn’t have the jitters or at least didn’t look like it. And that was an easy recipe for that to happen. When you think about what he was doing in the regular season and all the jumps he’s made to be that good and that electric at home against the Yankees, man oh man, as good as Gossman was yesterday, he was better. Wow, that’s saying something cuz you were raving about there. Yeah. Another two two to Rice and it’s full. You know, it’s like in football, you script plays in your first drive and it goes perfect. You’re like, great. Then what, right? And you just kind of keep going. Well, you script it as a pitcher. You’re like, “This is the game plan I want to have. This is what I want to execute. Here’s what I want to impose on the other team.” And they did it. Rice takes the walk. He’s saying if I see one more splitter, I’m going to two os in this ninth inning issued by Dominguez. John Carlos stand for his first six in this series and one for his first 17 in the postseason. His two for his last two and has knocked in a pair. Aaron Boom is saying before the game, just when you think we’re standing that he’s got no shot, that he’s not close, that’s when he’ll get you. Yan from Dominguez. A swing and a miss in strike two. lopsided. The Toronto Blue Jays are a win away from the championship series. Trey, five and a third innings, no hits, 11 strikeouts. When did you know today would be a special day? I don’t know. I mean, when I was out there, I could feel the energy with the crowd and I just knew something was going to happen. I didn’t know it was going to be all that. You said yesterday that you were built for this. Now, I know you pitched some big games at East Carolina, but nothing like on this stage. Why did you say that? Why did you feel that way? I don’t know. I’ve been I pitch with my back against the wall with a division title on the line. I mean, we’re I’m not built for this. We’re built for this. Your parents are here today. A lot of family is here today. What does it mean for you to do this in front of them? It’s special. Um they’re my biggest fans. They’re my biggest fans and I love them and they’re they’re my people. Trey, thanks a lot.

Who else is loving the Yankees falling apart?!
As a Giants fan, I think they are going win game 3 to advance the next game of this week since they are so good.
why do i have a feeling that the blue jays are going to blow a 2-0 series lead? this is the yankees! they'll never quit!
Yankees 27 rings and Aaron Judge zero ring lol
MLB record set today by the Blue Jays — most runs ever in a two-game post season play.
Ngl the Blue Jays bullpen really gave me a heart attack today. It was 12-0 at one point 😳 but a win is a win, and the closing few bullpen pitchers really restored the calm!
Oh Canada
Who doubted my jays? Oh yes the Americans and Yankees. This is the first time in my life where I went into the playoffs for any Toronto team and not doubt or be nervous. I kid you not, since yesterday I haven’t felt nervous or doubtful of these boys. They legit can and should win it all. That’s what I truly believe. 😊
Man, I hate losing NNN in October. But this eyecandy makes it more than worth it! as all Junkee fans have said for the last 16 years: Maybe next year! Rangersforever❤
