What do you take away from a game like that? It’s uh Well, we really got to work on our pen kill. 17 kills. I don’t think I’ve seen that in a long time. So, that was uh there’s always the positives that come out of it, and that was definitely one of them. Did you anticipate a game like that? Did you intend for a game to go like that? No, it’s uh listen, this is this is the time of year that uh kids are trying to make teams and they’re trying to make impact on the uh on the organization and um you know there’s there’s players out there that haven’t been in our organization and so um you got to give the kids credit for doing you know working to try and make a team and so um No, it’s uh going to game second. On special teams opportunities aside, I mean, do you think you guys are more prepared to even for the regular season after a game like that? We had we had seven of them and a hell of a lot of practice time. So, we’ll be fine. You had a game like that where you got three skaters left on your bench? Yeah, that’s a that’s a first for me. I think we have more coaches and players on the basketball. How’s Ozie? Uh, it’s No, that’s those aren’t good answers for right now. I think of the six guys you called up, five of them had at least roughing or fighting major. was I mean when you’re when you are a guy trying to make a team is that a way to after the way the last game went is that player uh initiative there to to go out and do things like that like I I don’t understand like like do do the players feel like that’s what they they need to answer cuz they’re trying to make an impression. I think I think anybody that has the the two Florida teams have had a lot of success in this league in the last, you know, six years. And uh um I think anybody that’s been a part of this rivalry would probably look at this box score and probably not a not be surprised and be like, I can’t believe it’s taken this long for that something like that to happen. So, uh, it’s two extremely proud franchises and, uh, and they one boys, you know, played with their card in his sleeve. So, that’s all I can say because since it was Basil last game, what what do you think he got out of something like this? Well, all the things we’re looking for. I mean, we’re not take away the special teams, take away the score and all that. Like, to to us, it was we don’t care about that. It’s how does he feel? How’s his conditioning and everything? and uh it was all great. So, I was uh you know, he’s he’s on track and and where he wants to be. And so, that’s good.

John Cooper doesn’t understand the questions (ok) he’s asking a very simple question Is it the players that are going out there try to injure other players or is the coaches telling them to go out there to injure other players. Just by the way he’s acting you know it’s him that’s telling players to injured other players.

  17. Paul Maurice asked for this type of game on Thursday. And most of last season. They should ask HIM if the cheapshots by Panthers are "Player Initiative" or directions from Coach Maurice.

  20. This is absolutely repulsive of the coach who had all the power to control the situation. He ignited it pre game im sure and his rookies were just trying to appease him. See movie Slapshot played out in real life here.

  21. Every year we know our gm in tampa likes to trade our future away with every draft pick for a player we get for a few months and thier gone. This year should be no different, go get ryan reeves, last year of his contract which is right up your ally anyways. Make it worth it this year for physicality

  23. He called up six goons from their amateur team to rough up the Panthers and attempt to hurt their players. The Lightening made fools out of themselves last night.
