I agree. I wouldn’t call it good but it’s better than the last 2 years. I think they’ll get better over time and hopefully a new draft class can improve it further.
The defense isn’t great, but if we had this defense with last year’s offense we would’ve been dangerous. It’s performed as well as we could’ve reasonably expected. Still need to improve it some this offseason, but the defense hasn’t been a big issue so far.
It looks like Golden is starting to find the potential in some of our young guys and I also like Knight a lot. They held Detroit to 14 in the first half which isn’t great but it at least gives the offense a chance.
Knight has been fantastic. We have zero pass rush

Silver lining is if we keep losing at this rate, we can add another premium defensive talent through the draft. I like what I see from D Knight, Shemarr and Dax Hill, so adding a Top 3 pick, game wrecker would be amazing, unless there’s a cant miss talent playing OL.

Agreed. They played well enough to win the first half. If there was only a mediocre offense, not a bottom 5 offense we could be 4-1
Ehhh. They may not be as bad as the numbers show, but they’re definitely below average. Better than last year? Maybe but that’s saying almost nothing. Geno Stone is ass, Battle is like a 50/50 on whether he’s gonna do the right thing, CTB is completely cooked, and our other CBs and LBs, while fairly talented, seem to not know where they need to be a lot. DLine showed up reasonably well today, Slaton was huge and Murphy actually did a thing, and Trey was Trey.
Good defense doesn’t give up 37 points regardless of how bad the offense is
Giving up 14 points to that offense in the first half is very impressive considering the Lions had 6 possessions, two of which were short fields after an interception
Can we just fire the entire o line our offense should be nuts even without burrow considering the strength of our weapons

What can a defense do when you gather a bit of momentum to end the half, and the shit QB throws the worst INT of the day on the second fucking play?
Through 3 full quarters of football the offense scored as many points as Jamaar had tackles.
Defense will grow as the season goes on. I feel like we don’t get to see them be aggressive given they are never playing with a lead or some rest so hopefully the worse teams on the schedule allow them to do so.
Look at the time of possession totals over 5 games between the Bengals and their opponents. They’re getting no support from the offense that cannot run the ball and now plagued with a qb that turns the ball over. Not a winning formula when you continually ask them to go back out there over and over. Eventually the dam breaks.
TOP was 17 minutes to 13 minutes in the first half. Second half was similar. I don’t think they looked bad because they were gassed. The Lions have too many weapons, and this defense has weaknesses. The defense is better than last year, but it still has a ways to go.
The offense without Joe isn’t a threat, as great as Chase and Tee are we have nothing to get then the ball. Our coach sucks now and our defense, who’s playing better, isn’t the best. Best we look to 2026 and a healthy year.

The defence is also bad. Lou was not the problem. The lack of talent was the problem.
The defense isn’t good. It’s just better than the absolute shit show it has been recently. The bar was very low from last season. It’s not completely bad, but not good either. Hopefully, there will be better progress/development as this season continues. Again, it’s the first season under a new DC, so give them time.
