Cam Ward talks first win as NFL quarterback, says he’s proud of the Titans’ response to adversity

Cam, last week you had some profane words about your team. How did your team play today? Well, they played we played good today. Um, just from an adversity standpoint. We battled throughout the whole game. We were able to get what we really want done offensively. The defense kept us in the game. That’s why, you know, we were able to come up with the win. Um, at the end game, just give our guy Joey Joey chance. He missed the kick earlier, but if we put in that position, you know, we know he’ll knock it again. Cam, let’s talk about that. all game long, no matter what was happening, that sideline did not quit. What does that say about this team and where you are? Uh, it just shows that, you know, we got a lot of hardworking people on the team from upstairs all the way to the guys in the locker room. Uh, and we just got to continue to be better. Uh, we put oursel in a hole earlier this season just with a couple hills. But, you know, we trending in the right direction now. We playing with each other right now. Uh, both sides to the ball. We complimented each other today and we just got to try to do it again next week. Jeffrey Simmons just now came and gave you a hug and said that’s why we drafted you. What does that do for you? Uh just just a lot. Uh Jeff, he’s one of the first people to welcome me to Nashville once they drafted. Um and he’s a he’s a team player and the way he goes about his business every day in and out in and out the locker room. He’s just someone that you know I tend to lean towards when times get rough. Um he is the reason why we able to get this win today as well. Okay. And what’s your message to Titans fans tonight? Uh got our first victory. Uh try to get the next one next week. Um, Titans fans, you know, start traveling. You know, we’ll try to get some more wins. Congratulations on this first one.
