Tigers vs. Mariners: Full ALDS Game 2 Highlights (10/5/25)

The Detroit Tigers up one game to nothing in the best of five series. Game two of the divisional series tonight. Really great pitching match up as we know. Scubble for the Tigers. Luis Castillo for the Mariners. This guy’s the total pitcher. The choice in one of the best pitchers in the planet and probably backto back Sai Young winner in 2025. Now that being said, the Mariners did something that not a lot of teams get a chance to do. They beat TKO twice this season. Granted, it was in the first half. Granted, a little bit of a different lineup. this thing could change very quickly if the Mariners are able to come away win and head into Detroit after this game even at one and one. One of our strengths is bouncing back and and we have to do that and and uh you know, Scoo’s a guy obviously that that we have seen a couple of times this year. He’s, you know, he’s thrown the ball well uh in Cleveland and and uh you know, we got to come out tomorrow and and um you know, come right back at them and bounce back and um you know, our guys are good at that. That’s what they do. and and uh you know I think we’ll be ready. On the hill for the Mariners of course will be Luis Castillo who has had a strong season of the season. Torres waves and misses at the speed of one down for Castillo. Here’s Carrie Carpenter trying the inside corner with a fast ball and Carpenter draws the one. Here’s Riley Green. Green goes the other way left center field. The Rose Arena just a few steps over for back to first base goes Carpenter. So two down for Spencer Tolson swinging a fly ball left field. Randy Rosena going back. He’s there. Waits for it to come down. And we go to the bottom of the first and TKO who started a few years back at Seattle University gets a start for the Tigers. It’s always good to get back to the city. The city means a lot to me. Obviously I spent four years here. You know I was born in California, raised in Arizona, but I feel like I kind of grew up here, you know, in college kind of getting independent and stuff. So, um, this place will always have a special place in my heart for sure. Randy Rosena getting ready to lead things off. That is Bang for a base hit on a change up. So, Rose Arena starts it off for Seattle. These are the matchups that everybody has their eyes on when they’re looking at a lineup card and they look at the pitching matchups. It’s Raleigh, the 60 home run star against Terrick Scooble, now batting right-handed against the lefty. Waved on and missed on the change up. A Rosena goes, swung on and missed. Throw down to second. Tag not there. Torres tried to swing that down on Rosena. Scubble had to duck out of the way of that dingler throw. They get the strike out of Rodriguez, but now Rosena in scoring position. Here’s Palanco. Swings at the first offering and pops it up. Lead off single does no harm. Scubble strains Rosena at second. Go to the second inning. Game two of the division series. Scoreless after one. Then he works a leadoff walk. Leadoff man is aboard here in the second against Castillo. Dingler swings away and pops it up back at second. It’ll be Palano and he’s got it for the first out. There goes the runner. The pitch is low and it’s ball four. So they did send Cole Keith that time. McKinstry draws the second Castillo walk of this second inning. Now Bayz will come up with a man in scoring position. They were two for 11 yesterday with runners in scoring position. They left eight, but they got the big hit late in the game from McKinstry. Gets a piece of that one. It rolls in front of the plate. It is a fair ball. Raleigh was able to grab it in fair territory and the two on the way. Swing and a miss. Right. Quickly two down for Scooble here in the second. Here’s Mitch Garver who jumps into the DH spot tonight against the lefty. Swing and a miss. 99 just blew it. Mitch Gar no chance. That is equipped. One, two, three. Second. Torres going to lead things off here in the third. No score. Swing and a miss from Torres. Gets the out day. Carpenter loops one on a tough hop to second. Grabbed by Palanco. And a nice pick. Swung on Sky center field. Julio a couple steps over. Ranges in the gap. He’s right there. Reaches up, makes the catch. A one, two, three inning for Luis Castile. The big crowd approves. We go to the bottom of the third. Terrick Scooel and Luis Castillo off to solid starts in this game two. Scoreless to the bottom of the third and Victor Robless leads it off try the corner and Robless Crawford fouls one into the Detroit dugout. Hopefully everybody’s all right down there. You see school’s reaction. I think I think it got Paddock. Chris Paddock. He emerges like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Runner stays. Crawford swings and misses on the change up tonight in game two. Cal Raleigh against Tick Scooble. The runner at first and two out. First pitch towards short. It’s caught. There’s Bayz and the inning is over. So it’s the middle third of the order here in the fourth inning. Swinging a fly ball center field. Julio drifting just very casually back into his left. Plants and makes the catch. A routine out number one to begin the top of the fourth inning. Breaking ball is golfed in the air to right. Robless is over and he’s got it. Three straight flyyous induced during this seven in a row retired stretch for Castillo. Two down. Swinging a fly ball to center field. Julio back a couple of steps straight away and he makes the catch. First out here in the fourth inning. A six pitch battle. It’s been good strikes strike throwing for TKO. 50 pitches, 35 strikes, but has misfired a little bit more on the fast ball than we’re used to seeing. Swing fly ball driven deep. Driven back left field. Gone. Jorge Palanco. It’s a one- nothing Mariners lead. Jorge Palanco grabs the Trident after his first playoff home run in six years. Mary’s have the lead. Good. On the outside corner, Suarez goes down looking. Naylor goes chasing on that slider tailing away and that finishes off the four who’s been able to get seven outs over the course of the 19 pitch stretch after a Rocky’s start. McKinstream lines it out to left and they get a one pitch out right there as a Rose Arena grabs it to start off the fifth and he watches that one off the plate. Impressive takes that time from Bayz and he draws the fourth. Castillo walking the night. Now given the fact that it’s spire warming, you figure there’s a chance that Dan Wilson gives Castillo as far as Torres, who’s now the man on deck on the ground towards second. Palano flips. Crawford throws. Not in time. Runner goes again and right through the right side. And Meadows is going to go first to third. Perfectly played by Torres. It’s first and third for an aggressive base running team in Detroit. Fling and a miss here. Nitro gas from Gabes fire but trying to get aboard with a hit trying to flip it is the second baseman Torres or Rosa Raina goes down on the change up that has a little bit to do with his knowledge of this Seattle offense and a swing and a miss on a fast ball. Payoff pitch to Palano. Fast draw deep left field. Jose Palanco has done it again. It is gone. Jorge Palco his second of the game into Eders. This place erups and the Marriers lead two to nothing. Unbelievable. Lightning strikes twice. Swinging a miss and Suarez strikes out in a 99 mph fast ball. Ninth strikeout ends the sixth inning. But the Mariners get one more big run. One pitch, one out, seventh inning. Two nothing Seattle on top. Hard hit ball back over. That’s through for the fifth Seattle hit against school tonight. It’s a one out single in the seventh. There’s JP Crawford who’s got a bun single tonight. Back up the middle. There’s short stop Bayz to his left. Nice sliding play to get JP Crawford. Ends the seventh inning. End of the eighth. And now Seattle goes to its third reliever of the night, Matt Brash. payoff pitch with a fast ball seemingly I don’t know it looked like a fast ball didn’t really break looked like it was staying inside if it was a slider either way it’s a walk the look in by Brash the stretch and the 3-2 pitch it is strike three called he got him looking slider grounded to first it’s off the glove of Naylor it rolls to Palano he flips late and everybody’s safe Naylor couldn’t squeeze it cleanly all that spin from the slider and then the grounder ends up putting green at First on to second goes Torres. That is an error and a fieldielder’s choice. Two aboard for Torqulson. The tying runs are on base for Detroit. Two- two pitch the other way. It’s a fair ball down the right field line. Torres will score. Here comes Green into third. Joey Cora giving him the wave. Here’s the throw. It’s cut off and this game is tied. Spencer Torlson with a shot down the first baseline. 22 tie in the eighth. How about it? There’s called strike three on a change up. Randy waves and misses at that splitter. 0 for three tonight. A struck out twice. Hard hit ball by Raleigh down the right field line towards the corner and the big double is looking for extra bases and he’s got another drive down. That’s a Mars take the lead. Rodriguez has come up close yet again. Palanco breaks his bat, rolls it towards short, left side, cut off by McKinstry. There’s no point. Rodriguez to third. Runners at the corners with only one out. Ground ball to third. Rodriguez coming home. The throw from McKinstry will get him in time and it keeps it at a one-run game. Fielder’s choice goes 52. Palano on to second. Safe at first is Suarez. And that will be it for Finnegan. Two on, two out for the lefty Brandt Purder, who’s facing the left-hander Josh Naylor. Runners at first and second for Naylor. Pops one off on a golf shot. Sand wedges it up towards second. And Torres. And Andreas Munoz, who recorded six outs last night, a season high, will try to go back to back to even the series. The Kinstream waves and misses. He’s tapped. What a way. He pops it up. Reas makes the catch. Two down. And here is Parker Meadows swinging a bouncy ball. First base line behind the bag. Naylor underhand flip. Deuno’s at the bag. It’s over. The Mariners win it. They tied the series.

The Mariners took Game 2 of the ALDS with a 3–2 win over the Tigers, backed by Jorge Polanco’s two home runs and a strong 4.2-inning outing from Luis Castillo. Julio Rodríguez delivered the go-ahead RBI double late in the game, helping Seattle secure a crucial postseason victory at home.

  1. Polanco came through huge today going yard against Skubal not once, but twice and then Julio came through clutch again this time with the go ahead Double. Decent outing from Castillo who did well to hold the Tigers off the board through 4.2 innings before passing it to the pen.

Biggest performers through the first 2 games: 1. Julio 2. Polanco 3. Munoz 4. Speier with an honorable mention to Cal, Castillo, and a couple other bullpen guys. Everyone else needs to get it going in Detroit.

  2. Please! When you post these highlight videos don't put a splash page that says "Mariners win" or "Tigers win". Not everybody lives in the US and can see these games. Some of us work in the military or public service overseas and in areas we can't see the action. So watching these highlight videos is the only way we can experience the action. So when the splash page gives the result instead of saying "ALDS Game 2 Highlights", it kinda spoils it for us. But that being said, thank you for posting these. And Go Mariners!!!!

  3. Boys have to get their offense going better than this. Yes I know its Skubal but these guys are colder than they should be. Suarez badly needs some Etsy witch pixie dust

  4. Sounds like the sound crew on that national telecast was not aware of how we do things in Seattle. You might call that the 10th Man.

  5. 😱 CLUTCH WIN 🔱 SEATTLE MARINERS 💙! 🎉 CONGRATS 👏, BELIEVE, and let's keep the MONENTUM & 😎 GOOD VIBES 🔥 goin' into Comercia Park!! Still love Seattle U alum Skubal though. Just a true fan of the entire game. Let's freakin' gooooooo 💙 Seattle Mariners in '25 🔱!

  6. I’ve been watching on FS1 and I’m not to fond of the commentary team (only cause I’m used to the Root team. How do I watch with Rizz on the commentary? Or is FS1 my only option
