NHL Predictions 2025: Futures Picks, Cup Odds & Best Bets

[Music] Welcome to another edition of WST Winners Gang. And uh it is just about time to drop the puck on the National Hockey League season, which means the futures boards are absolutely loaded over at coolb.com. And uh going to bring in the boys and get into our favorite picks for the upcoming season in the National Hockey League. Uh, I will mention this is just the first part of our WST winners season preview. We will have Reis and Connor join me for another episode specifically surrounding the Winnipeg Jets coming up next week on the channel. But, uh, let’s get right to it. Welcoming in my tag team partners getting ready for a big NFL Sunday tomorrow. Jake Bowlan Moss and Pat Gregoire. Guys, I know we’re all in to the Major League Baseball playoffs right now, the Blue Jays in this series, the NFL, but uh it’s just about time to get going with hockey season. How we doing? Just what, a week ago, Hus, we were talking about how this is the best time to be a sports fan. It really is. I mean, this NHL season completely creeped up on me. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been stuck in the lab making my NFL picks. The baseball playoffs, October baseball’s been electric, but out of nowhere a couple weeks ago, it’s like, boom, training camp’s here. Oh, preeason’s here. And then I get a text message from you. Hey, we got to get picking our picks for futures. So, last couple of days, I’ve locked myself in a room, really hammer down some of these futures. hopefully give out some some winners because uh I think this NHL season and it’s so cliche but I think this one can be absolutely special and I think it’s completely wide open for a lot of teams. Jake, what about you? Yeah, I mean Patty’s kind of summed it up perfectly. It’s a great time of the year for, you know, sports fans, sports betterers alike. Um you know, we’re into October baseball. We’ve got the NFL in full swing, college football in full swing. Uh, I think we’re coming up, you know, if you’re a WNBA fan, we got the finals going on right now. NBA starts late October and then the NHL season rolling in um on what, Tuesday or Wednesday. So, yeah, pretty exciting times. Um, and I’ll be honest, I haven’t been watching a ton of pre-season NHL. Just doesn’t do it for me, I think, like really any sport. So, I’m ready to dive into some real uh some real hockey and uh get going on the season here. Well, I mean, listen, I mean, obviously you want to check out what’s happening with your own team through training camp, but I mean, you think about last weekend with the RDER Cup and now the baseball playoffs. Um, listen, we’ll uh Do you think preeason matters in Toronto? The regular season doesn’t matter in Toronto. you talk to fans alike myself and Jake or anyone around this team, we can hardly get up for regular season games because we all know what matters is not only getting out of the first round, getting out of the second round, and potentially finally going on some sort of Stanley Cup run. So, preseason, sorry that we’re not getting all rah for this because we got bigger things we got to worry about here. Okay. Hey, I will say this. I mean, you guys being in Toronto, being Leaf guys as the Jet guys here, uh we feel you. Um, but again, if there are Buffalo Sabres fans or Red Wings fans or Blackhawks fans listening, they’re probably giving us the Rory Mroy to the Beth Page fans right now because they would dream of getting a playoff crowd. But, uh, listen, different expectations for different teams, which is a perfect way. Listen, we’re going to go through our favorite. We’re going to have a couple playoff props for you. Uh, our picks to win it all, awards. Um, if you go to Cool Bet right now, the offerings are crazy. Uh, we’re going to start off with our favorite team totals, points, overunders. There’s one for every single team. Um, but you’ve got odds to win the cup, to win the divisions, to win the conferences, player points, and player goals props, team playoffs props as well. So, I would suggest before the puck drops on the season, spend a little time after you hang out with us and get in your favorite picks. Always fun to follow those future bets all season long over at Cool Bet. Um let’s start off just with the team totals. Um you know, for instance, starting off with the Ducks at 83 and a half all the way down to the Winnipeg Jets at 98 and a half. Every single team has a point total associated with the upcoming season and the number on either side of over or under. Uh we all picked a couple of our favorite ones right now. Patty, why don’t you start off with uh what you settled on from the point total over unders for the upcoming season? Well, well, I get it. I’m sure Winnipeg Sports Talk fans logged on today and see this jersey over my right shoulder and saying, “Hey, what are you doing here?” So, I’ll get in the good books of the WST faithful and I’m going to take the Jets over 98 and a half points atus 150. We all get it. 2024 25 was a season to remember for the Jets. An alltime season. President’s Cup Trophy 116 points. And I get it, you know, the way it ended, not the way that a lot of fans or even people around the league kind of expected that regular season to turn into a playoffs. And I understand you lose Nick Eers, but 98 and a half points. What am I missing here? Did Connor Hella die? Is he no longer with the team? Even if this team regresses by eight or 10 points, you’re still cashing this number. I understand they’re probably in the most competitive division in hockey. I understand that you always look at regression, injuries, whatever it may be. But I just do not understand how a team this quality, a team that brings in a proven winner like Jonathan Taves into this locker room, how is this team getting almost 20 points worse? I don’t see it. Do I see them maybe taking a step back from a point perspective? Sure, that’s reasonable. But the pure disrespect of Vegas, the sports book, the odds makers, of the Winnipeg Jets year after year, and after their best season in franchise history, the disrespect to continue is undeserved. And if I can win some money off of it, I’ll do it. So, give me over 98 and a half points for the Winnipeg Jets. Pat for mayor. Pat for mayor. Listen, the uh you’ve become very popular guys on the program. This definitely pumped up the Q rating a little bit more. Uh couldn’t said it better. Listen, I’m probably sharing many of those thoughts, but as I say, I’m going to keep most of my Jets related selections to our Jets specific program, which will be coming up in the next couple days. Uh great pick. Uh where’s number two for you on the uh on the totals? Uh if I got to go with an over, I’ll go with an under. And some people thought that the Jets might have been the biggest shock u of the year. Well, the biggest shock and a negative of the year last year was the Nashville Predators. They were a dumpster fire. Heck, after the the regular season, or sorry, I should say the off season that they had though, guys. They were thinking about already hanging up banners uh down in Nash Nashville on Broadway at Bridgestone Arena. They bring in Stamp Coast, they bring in Marsha Show. But both those guys were complete flops. They finished with 68 points last year, guys. Only the Blackhawks had lease points in that division. And I get it. They’re probably going to get better. I understand Stam Coast and March. They’re pros. They’re They are going to be really upset with what happened last year. But again, 20 points better. There is no chance this team is sniffing the playoffs. There is no chance that this team finds themselves even close out of this basement here. I think they for sure finish with more than 68 points, guys, but under 82 and a half seems far too good to be true. So, I’ll take the under. 82 and a half for the pres. Love it. Uh Jake, what about you? Yeah, I’ll start things off with an over myself. Um, you know, we were kind of talking about them offline, but I’m jumping on the Utah Mammoth over 92 and a half points. Uh, 89 a season ago and, you know, they got some really good talent in Utah. I think that it gets underlooked because they were in Arizona for so long. Last season, you know, they just make the move. It’s a fresh start for a lot of these guys uh, in a new spot. They’re doing a ton of res renovations on the arena. They’re setting it up for better viewer experience. I think a Utah Mammoth ticket is going to be a hot commodity this year. And you know, they brought in they brought in they made some moves. Uh they brought in JJ Purka from Buffalo. He was a big piece um that many many teams were sought after. You know, they lose Kessle Ring. Um and I think that’s that’s a big part, but they do still have a strong back end. You know, they bring in some veterans like Tanv, uh, Nate Schmidt, VTech, Vanichek to back up, uh, Vamela, and they got a lot of good young core guys. Barrett Hayden, Dylan Gunter, Loren General as Pat calls him, Logan Culie, Clayton Keller, um, you know, Nick Schmaltz, he’s only 29 years old. like you a lot of these guys I I think they’re ready to take a bit of a jump and to only be you know four points better than they were a season ago I don’t think is a big ask. So uh I’m going to get behind Utah this year and if you look around at the odds like you look across the board Utah is a team that I think the bookies like uh I think their coach is favorite to be coach of the year this year. Um you know to make the playoffs I think they’re sitting around even money. So, I I think not only myself, but I think also Vegas is thinking Utah takes a bit of this jump. I think four points is doable from a season ago. So, I’m on them. Over. Um, you want me to jump into my under as well, Hos? Yeah, you bet. Okay. So, under. Uh, and Patty kind of did this um with Nashville. You know, it’s not necessarily a 20point jump, but are the New York Rangers really going to make an 11point jump from a season ago? What have they really done in the offseason to make you believe that’s going to be the case? Yes, they brought in Vladis Gaverov. Um, they lost Ke Miller, Chris Krider to Anaheim, and they also brought in Taylor Radish. Are are Gaverov and Taylor Radish two guys that can make this team jump 11 points in the standings? I’m not too sold on it. I think there’s teams in the Metro that are also looking to make an a bigger jump. You know, the Devils only had 91 points a season ago. They’re a team looking to make a jump. Uh, the Flyers is bringing in Rick Tocket making some moves. I think they want to make a jump. The Blue Jackets fell just short of the playoffs last year. I think they want to make a jump. You know, is there room for the Rangers to work their way back into a playoff spot and back up into the mid 90s point range? I’m not so sure of it. Um, they’re aging. I know they still got some good players there, you know, and Panera and Adam Fox in the back end, Shurken and Ne, but I just don’t know if I’m quite sold in the New York Rangers. I feel they’re a bit fraudulent. I don’t think they’re making 11-point jump. So, I got them under 95 and a half points this season. You know, the emotional leader JT Miller just named the captain of the New York Rangers. That, mark my words, that’s going to go either really good or really bad. I would be I mean, they should be better. They were a huge disappointment last season. U, but as I say, I’m with you. I mean, that is a big big jump that uh the books are expecting. Um, on my side, listen, I’m gonna start off with an under and I’m going to the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. I I don’t think people are are giving enough credence to how devastating this Barov injury is. Now, first of all, let’s remind everyone we think of Florida as the best team in the league. They’ve earned it in the last two springs. Last year in the regular season coming off winning the cup, I mean they finished third in the division at 98 points. Their total for this year is 101 and a half. And even if Bararkov was in the lineup to be honest, guys, think about how much hockey this team has played. Think I mean they are getting they are are aging out. And listen, they’ve got a lot of great players that are in the prime of their career. They’re going to win a lot of games. But for a team that had 98 points last year, spent two more months battling for the cup, you don’t think that there could be a bit of a hangover on that, and now they’re without their most important player. Full stop. We can go down the list and talk about Matthew Kachchuck. Oh, by the way, he’s going to be out for half the year as well. Listen, the the Florida Panthers, they need to survive the regular season, get into the playoffs, and see what they can do. Their total for the season is 101 and a half. Last year, as I mentioned, they finished 98th. To me, this is a Panther team. Like, it’s funny, just speaking of playoffs, and we’ll get to playoff numbers. Like, the the number for the Panthers to miss the playoffs has gone from 4 to one down to plus 250. So, to me, I love the under on the Panthers at minus 101 or at at under 101 and a half. And then looking to an over, I’m gonna go to one of the younger teams in the National Hockey League and the Anaheim Ducks. And you look at the Ducks last year who were competitive. They were a couple games under 500. They finished at 80 points on the season. Um, their total is only 83 and a half. I mean, when I think about Leo Carlson, McTavish now has his deal. Let’s not forget they actually have added a little bit of veteran experience around them with Chris Krider. Obviously, Jacob Trouba is going to have a full year there right now. Like I’m not saying the Ducks are going to be a playoff team right now, but I think it would be a massive disappointment for Anaheim if they didn’t take a step forward. And I think a step forward based on what they had last year of four more points this season is a pretty safe bet. So, uh, I’m going over 83 and a2 for the Anaheim Ducks this season and again under 101.5 for the Florida Panthers. So, we started off with a couple of our favorite totals for the for this season. Let’s get to the uh the division bets right now. And uh we’ve got odds for every team to win their division. Um, listen, it’s always fun to try to jump on a long shot. I don’t know whether we’re going to find that out, Patty, but uh do you have one or two picks that you think either are great value or just locks to uh lock down and be the number one seed in their respective divisions? To be honest, I think the like the the the sports book odds makers, especially here at Kbet, really nailed these numbers. Like I think I I think they it was really hard to find a ton of value uh when it comes to this. So, the I took one where it’s kind of in that middle pack around that even money mark and then I took one long shot. I’ll start with the long shot cuz you already touched on them. And I’ll go with the Florida Panthers. I know it’s crazy to say that this team could miss the playoffs, but you laid it out. This is a team that yes, no doubt best team in the NHL, but they did all their work in the playoffs that once they got to the playoffs, that’s when they became the best team in the league. During the regular season, it was a little bit of a grind. It was a little bit of a lull, especially last year. No, Bararkov. I mean, you couldn’t have said it better. Like, I think that could be the biggest loss of them all. We also know Kachchuck’s out for a significant amount of time as well. Do I think it’s really going to happen? Probably not. They’ll still crawl their way into the playoffs. I think it’s going to get sweaty, but the fact that I can get a pretty good number on that, it’s also fun to cheer against that team. So, I’m going to just sprinkle a little bit on on that number there and go for them here. Another one though, a little bit closer to money. Actually, it’s minus 115 on each side. And I hate to say this, but I like the Montreal Canadians to get back into the playoffs this year. They finished with 91 points last year. Um, they get into the playoffs with a very young group, a group that made a strong push at the very end. I don’t see this group really taking a step back unless their goalending takes a step back. You know, you get a guy like Demidov for a full season. He’s the odds on favorite to win rookie of the year. You add Noah Dobson out the back door to show that up. And Nick Suzuki and Cole Coughfield continue to make the next step. And here’s how I see it, fellas. How it plays out. If this bet loses, I can laugh in the face of all my Montreal Canadian fans. And if they do make the playoffs, I can just stuff my winning, stuff my money on my ears and don’t have to hear about all the gloating and the cheering that they do when they do make the playoffs. So that’s the two ways I went with my playoff bets this year. All right, Patty’s gone completely rogue. Jake, uh Jake, we’ll go we’ll go to the division bets after this. We may as well keep going with the to make the playoffs. I know you’re a professional. You are ready to go. You are locked in. Uh not divisions, who will make or miss the playoffs based on and again there’s a total a yes or no. It’s very simple for every team right now. Starting with the Hurricanes and the Knights, who are the chalkiest teams to make the playoffs at minus 1250 and the longest odds to make the playoffs, Sharks and Blackhawks at 15 to1. Where are you at on these? Hus, in Patty’s defense, when you sent us the list, playoffs were second. Yep. Um, so I I was I was looking at the run list on the show and you did have division next. So I was ready for division and then Patty started talking about Florida and the way he was talking about him I was like that doesn’t sound like a team that he’s picking to win the division. Me too. It actually sound like a team that he’s that he’s actually taken at at a good number to miss the playoffs. And guess what? On my card I also have Florida to miss the playoffs. So I was like Patty’s saying all the right things here. I’m going to love this. So, uh, yeah. I mean, listen, Patty kind of laid it out already for Florida. I won’t go too deep into it, but, you know, I wrote down, is this a prayer? Maybe. But, is it possible? Yes. I mean, Barov’s a big loss for this team. Not to mention Kachchuck’s out till December. Um, and this team hust like we’ve talked about Florida a ton already off the top of the show. They’ve played a lot of hockey over the last few years. They’ve gone to three straight cup finals. Like, it hasn’t been two straight. They’ve won two straight cups. They’ve gone to three straight finals. This is a lot of hockey. Um, and I just want to know when it’s going to catch up to them. You know, they they still have, you know, uh, solid guys up in the lineup. Reinhardt, um, and Bennett, you know, Marawn’s still there, but like eventually this is going to get to them. I don’t necessarily know if they’re going to miss the playoffs and that’s why a number the number is what it is at plus 250. But you already mentioned it was 4 to1, now it’s plus 250. What shocked me is you’re telling me the Florida Panthers have a better chance of making the playoffs than the Toronto Maple Leafs. I I I know I’m biased, but at – 345 to – 333, I know we’re just it’s small little numbers here. That’s a little shocking to me. I think the Leafs um you know, they’re healthier. Their depth is is just as good as Florida’s is, even better than it is probably right now. Uh it’s pretty surprising to me. So yeah, I jumped on Florida to miss the playoffs as well at that number. Patty plus 250. Um, I don’t have to say a whole lot about this because I’ve already dove into this team, but I figure if I’m pushing my chips in with Utah to go over their point total this year at 92 and a half, I figure I’ll push it in with them as well uh to make the playoffs this year at minus 115. So, kind of similar to what Patty did. I I took a longer shot to miss and uh and kind of one of those even money numbers to make with Utah. Yeah, I mean, we have some pretty clear halves and have nots right now in the NHL. And I mean, you look at a kind of the top 10 teams or so. um you know on the odds and it’s pretty hard to I mean barring you know a Nashville like collapse of last season. I’m sure there will be a Nashville team. Nashville probably was somewhere around where the Lightning or Panthers were at like 3 to1 to miss the playoffs and they absolutely cratered. Um I don’t see a team that will obviously take a massive step back or someone that I think is way overvalued. So I kind of focus in that mix. I mean it is really interesting. You got Montreal, St. Lewis, Utah, all as basically pickhams to make or miss the playoffs. And Pat, I actually think I’m going to go on the other side of you with the Montreal Canadians. And again, here’s the thing. I I think this East, you know, much like last year, we weren’t really talking about Montreal. We were like, “Okay, which one of these young teams is going to make this big jump? Will it be Buffalo? Will it be Ottawa? Will it be Detroit?” Well, Ottawa did it and then Montreal passed those other teams. Now, I don’t dispute the fact that they’re a really talented team, but man, they’re young. Obviously, bring in Dobson, I I I like that he’ll be great. I mean, Lady Hudson, I just don’t know whether they’re going to be able to defend at a level. Uh especially with some of the young players that are going to be playing big minutes up front that they will be able to be on the right side. Listen, if they make it, they’re going to be where they were last year, just kind of getting in. But to me, I think the line on either side and it’s part of the reason why they’re basically a pick them to make or miss. So, uh, I will fade the Habs this year in the East. And, uh, like like you said, Pat, I get the happiness hedge on your side of things with your Hab fans friends. Um, I’m going to back the take and say the Habs are out. Now listen, if you want to just stay right there in that in that mix, um on the other side of another pickham team is the St. Louis Blues. Obviously, we saw one of the great playoff series in recent NHL history last year between Winnipeg and St. Louis. Uh an all-time finish in game seven. Um but here’s the thing. Um you know, Montgomery took over. You look at what that team was in the second half of the season. Um they were right there with the best teams in the entire National Hockey League from January 1st on. Um I think they showed that they can play with the top teams, you know, in the playoffs with the test that they brought to Winnipeg. And you know, Montgomery is a winner, too. And listen, you’ve got Thomas and you know, Kyru kind of really into their into their prime right now. I guess the one question I have is whether Braden Shen’s going to continue to be able to play at that level top six forward. But I mean, you look at that blue line and certainly I mean I think last year was a huge huge year for Jordan Bennington. He’d sort of fallen off a little bit. Four nations on he was the binner that you know we’d remember you know winning the cup. So I I think St. Louis is going to be a team that has a very good chance of making the playoffs. I mean, I think that if you’re looking at playoffs, I’d be surprised if we didn’t have five central teams in again and only three from the Pacific, but I’m looking at that and as I said, this isn’t maybe an official pick, but I’ve been desperately looking, okay, which of these teams, you know, that are significant. The Islanders are plus 75. You’ve got two to1’s on Columbus and Nashville, then Calgary, Anaheim, Buffalo, Detroit, Philly, Boston. The Boston numbers massive by the way and their point total is like people are really thinking that this is going to be a continued drop off for Boston. But I think I will just put a little sprinkle on the Sabres to finally get it done. I know the Bills fans, you know, they’ve got all the success with football at least right now. Raise the best team in the in the NFL after four games banner. Um, but everyone is so out on Buffalo. Sooner or later, this team with the talent that they have is going to do it. So, do I feel good about it? But, uh, if you’re looking for one of those teams on the out, let me just quickly put that to you guys. I mean, I’m looking for a team like in the plus 200s or more to make the playoffs. I mean, of all of those dogs, all those teams that people are expecting to be mid80s, maybe get to 90 points, which one of them can I mean, Calgary was right there last year. They’re expected to take a drop off. They’re at plus 220. Um, it’s not Detroit for me. I think Philly is going to be a time, although Rick Tocket, Rick Tocket is a guy that I could see coming in and make a big difference and just squeezing the most out of that team. I don’t know whether it’ll be much, but is there any team in that list of sort of plus 75 or lower that you think is live to make the playoffs, guys? Well, there’s two. And you talked about the Ducks with their, you know, with them and their point total being higher. I look maybe at them. The other number that kind of jumps out to me, and this is this is a total long shot, but the Calgary Flames, Dustin Wolf, I mean, I was blown away with how good this guy is. We all know that goalending can drag you into things. Now, the only thing is I think the West, like you mentioned, us with the Central being so tough. Like, I just don’t know how many spots in the Pacific there’s going to be up for for grabs. Those would be the two that I I would look to just based off number and and kind of going through things. But I said it off the top, guys. And I think the odds makers completely nailed this. And you said it, Hus, as well. There’s the halves and the halves not. And I think there’s just such a clear case with the top teams, the bottom teams, and then there’s only a handful, not even a couple, that might be able to to fight and claw their way into the postseason there. Jake, any uh anything that’s attractive to you at a bigger number? Yeah, I mean, listen, Columbus had a good run last year. They weren’t able to close it out with a trip to the playoffs. Two to one, not a bad number on them. I think, you know, I think you can make an argument for any of those teams in between, you know, 2:1 and and 2 and a half to one. Um, you know, you already mentioned it, Hus, but, you know, what can get out of these Flyers? I know they brought in Trevor Zegris like you know is a is a change of scenery going to do him good? Mishkov you know Couture is still there with some veteran presence. Um the back end’s looking solid like our our Philly team that takes an unexpected jump this year behind Rick Tocket. That one I could probably get on board with plus 250. Um besides that I mean all respect to you for taking Buffalo. I just I don’t know if I uh if I could put my hardearned money on on the Sabers. Glad they’ve been sooner or later it’s going to happen. I just want to see it and I want to see it for Buffalo fans. I mean for sure they may be spoiled for their NFL team. But that is a loyal fan base that has just suffered through I mean what is it 14 years now? They haven’t seen I mean there are there are kids that are teenagers right now that have not been alive for the Buffalo Sabres to play a playoff game. I know I I I know I’m biased being a lacrosse guy. You can see the lacrosse stick and and the jerseys back here, but the Buffalo Bandits even with the threetime NLLL champions, they are outdrawing the Buffalo Sabres from attendance. I know it, you know, there’s 41 regular season games for the NHL. there’s only nine home games um for for the NLLL, but like vastly vastly outdrawing uh the Sabres are the the Buffalo Bandits. And so I get it. The these fans are spoiled with their lacrosse team, with their NFL team, but the Sabres, I mean, the the the apathy, the like the temperature for this team, like they’re it’s really running out of time. The organization had to bring Lindy Ruff back to coach this team to try to give some of those good vibes here. It they’re in absolute disarray, but you are right. They’ve done some really good things. When you look at the roster on paper, they should be better. It’s just for whatever reason that dark cloud that that just hangs over the Sabres organization. Haven’t been able to get it done. So at that number hus I certainly I definitely see um how that could be there especially when you just hear of all the other teams year in year and I’m a guy who just took Montreal to make the playoffs again back toback years but we’ve just been hearing year after year the Savers are going to make a jump the the the Red Wings are going to make a jump. I mean, I think the SS actually legitimately did make a jump and and I think they’re a team that’s probably now looking to make that next step as well, but I don’t know this just the East for me and maybe this will go into our themes later on here. I I feel like the East is completely wide open. I really feel like the East is wide open. Yeah. Well, and you know what? Let’s now Okay, we we’ll get to our division uh plays. And again, sorry for nuking the program, by the way. That’s okay. I was just No, that was so good. Once we realized, but Hus started laughing and then I was laughing. We’re having a good chuckle. But I mean, like I said, Patty, in your defense, Hus gave you the lay the lay down and then switch. But hey, you got to we got to you got to work on the fly. You got to be a pro. I apologize. I was just looking at the way we did did it up on the thing that we’re staring right at. So, I figured that way we were going, but I digress. Uh, let’s get to the divisions. We’ll get to our conference and Stanley Cup picks that obviously are playoff picks. This is just regular season and uh I mean just to give you a quick update the Oiler in the Pacific Oilers plus 150, Vegas plus 155 and then a gap to the Kings and then everybody else. Atlantic’s interesting. Tampa’s 2 to1 Leafs are 3:1 Panthers plus 325 and then the sends at 7 to1. The Met has the Hurricanes and again the books have always loved the Canes for the last number of years. I know they’ve got Nikolai Eers. Don’t want to talk about it. uh they are plus 130 and then Jersey is plus 320 and then you got the Rangers at 550, Caps at plus 650 who of course won the division last year and the Central what a meat grinder Dallas 2:1 Colorado plus 210 the Jets who won it last year 6 to1 uh Minnesota plus 850 and the like. You know what? I’ll just start this off quickly considering I just went down this run and then I’ll throw it to you uh Pat and then to Jake. Um, the Pacific division is interesting and I I said here’s a little trivia question for you folks out there watching this live and I’ll give you a moment to think about it. When was the last time the Edmonton Oilers won a division title? It’s 1987 now. They obviously don’t care. And again, it really it’s nice to to win a division. and we’re looking forward to throwing a the first ever division banner in the Canada Life Center when the Jets open it up. And you know, obviously it symbolizes a great regular season, but it’s all about just getting to the playoffs. I will say this, I’m going to take Vegas at plus 155 because I do sort of feel it’s a two- horse race. Um, I’m fascinated and I hope Dusty and our EST friends aren’t watching this right now. I uh as long as this McDavid thing continues sort of to fester, I I really do wonder what it will do to their season. Now, they’re too good to miss the playoffs. So, I mean, like, let’s just take that right out of the equation, but I don’t know if the Oilers, you know, adding in Seavoy and Howard, some younger players that I think are going to need a little bit of time to kind of get their feet under them. Like I’m not sure that this just happens overnight. Now listen, this team has had some terrible runs and they’ve always made up for it and get there at the end. That will happen this year, but they just don’t seem to be a team that goes out and just puts the boots to everybody for 82 games. It’s more a buildup later on. Vegas to me is the next best team. Mitch Mner is going to try to be proven himself as a new star in town. Jack Eel’s playing for a contract. I think Vegas is the uh is the top team at least for the regular season. So, what plus 155? I’ll look in on that. And then listen, I mentioned the Carolina Hurricanes who are always the darlings of the books and the analytic guys. I don’t think that there’s any reason why they should be such a short favorite in that division when you think about what the New Jersey Devils were before Jack Hughes got hurt. Listen, this is a young team that’s getting better. I mean, he sure brat I I mean, to me, this is probably should be more like like even if you want to say, “Okay, Carolina, you’re the favorite.” I mean, that these numbers should look more like the Central division if you ask me at 2:1 and plus 210 or something like that. So listen, if you’re going to give me New Jersey, whose season completely blew up on the back end when Jack Hughes was out for the year, I think they come back. I think Sheldon Keefe has them going right from game number one, and I don’t think they let it off. So, I think there’s some good value on Jersey at plus 320 to win the Metropolitan Division. So, I I I think I’m going to look at Vegas and Jersey as uh my favorite bets for the divisions. What about you, Pat? Well, I’m going to continue pandering to this audience, but I mean, if I think that this Jets team is not going to take that big of a step back, then why should they not be live here, especially at this number? The disrespect continues. Um, the fact that their odds are so long to win this division again at 6 to1. I see there’s just a lot of value there. Uh, this is the toughest division in hockey in my personal opinion. I do think there’s about three or four teams that can win this division that probably will be in the hunt. So, the fact that there’s that many teams that close, there shouldn’t be that big of a gap between team one, team two, and team three and four. So, give me the Jets to win at 6 to one. And then the Atlantic already has been a hot button topic here today, and I think it’s going to be through the rest of this show and probably for the rest of this year. I’ve already talked about how I think Florida due to the injuries and the miles on them. I I think that is going to take them out of contention here. I think it really comes down to two teams. It’s it’s the Bolts and the Maple Leafs. And I’m going to put my blue and white hat bias hat here and I’m gonna take the Leafs at three to one to win the Atlantic. Hey, the Leafs are a great regular season team. The Leafs get it done in the regular season. the jokes don’t start falling down until uh the playoffs and that’s when the leaves start falling as well. So for me, the fact you can get the division winning champs, like you said, um Jake, like just seems a little bit weird the number that you’re getting here. I know you lose Mitch Mner, but this team is better defensively. Uh the team is healthier. Uh they they sh up their goalending with Stallar signing a long-term deal. You had Nicholas Roy, Dakota Joshua. see what Machelli can do whether he’s playing on the top six or the bottom six but I think overall top to bottom this Leaf’s team is better I think Craig Barub has this team playing better in the regular season playing a better all-rounded game so I think it comes down to two horse race so if I think it’s going to come down to it between these two teams I’ll just take the better number with the Leafs at three to one Jakey what about you yeah I just had one division winner and you already were on Hus, uh, Golden Knights to win the Pacific plus 155. Few other things to add to your notes. I mean, since entering the league in 1718, Vegas has won the Pacific four times in eight years. Um, you know, they’ve done it. They they’ve done it half the time they’ve been in this league. So, uh, they’re no stranger to that. They’ve acquired one of the great regular season merchants in Mitch Marner. So, that’ll be a good addition to getting a ton of regular season points. Um I I I I think this team like is stacked. You really look at them top to bottom. I think Hurdle is their third line center right now. Um they have lost Petrangelo which is a big loss on the back end but you know they still have Theodore Hannah. Um they picked up Jeremy Loausan as well. If he can stay healthy, one of like the big um hitters, big heavy guys on the back end. So I I I think like this team is not only you know division winning caliber. I think they could win a President’s Trophy. And luckily for them, teams that win the President’s Trophy do a hell of a job when the playoffs roll around. So, I’m super excited for this Vegas team uh to get going and uh win this division for our boy Mitch Marner out in uh out in Vegas there in the desert. Okay. Well, this is a this is a perfect segue because uh we now move from the divisions to the conference winners. And this is who will survive the playoffs and play in the Stanley Cup. from the side. Your odds, Edmonton plus 350, Dallas and Colorado 450, Vegas plus 475, a gap, then the Kings uh at 10 to1, Jets at 1150, um Utah the Wild, the East wide open as are the cup odds. I mean, the cup favorite is at 8. You’ve got about five or six teams that in I mean, it’s so it is interesting and there is some money to be made if you can nail the right team. Uh, but of course Carolina is the favorite at 4 to1, Tampa plus 450, Panthers 5, Jersey plus 750, Leafs 8, and then Ottawa 12, Washington and the Rangers are 15. I’m going to start in the Western Conference. And uh, listen, I’ve sort of said I’m fading Edmonton this year. Like what Edmonton’s done the last couple seasons has been incredible. They’ve made it to back-to-back cup finals. They’ve lost to a great great Florida team. And listen, if they got back there again, no one’s really going to be surprised when you’re rolling with Conor McDavid and Leon Dryidle. But to me, the pressure on this team and it’s almost on everybody else like that’s not named Conor McDavid to play well enough and to be good enough so he thinks that they’re worthy of him staying. Like to me, it is a terrible situation. And it’s not like these other teams where, hey, we’re hoping this guy stays or not. It’s like, I’m only staying if I believe we can win. Show me. It’s very unique situation. I’m out on Edmonton right now. And obviously, they still have their goalending issues. Um, listen, you could see the team coming out of the of the Central again. I mean, Dallas and Colorado are both great teams. I mean, I do think the Jets are undervalued in this case, but again, you sort of have to do it in the playoffs and they haven’t made that next step. That’s the goal for them this year. Um, so certainly I think there’s some value there, but we’ll go back to Vegas at plus 475. I mean, to me, you know, Mark Stone is getting a little older right now, still playing at a very high level. U, but I do think that this is sort of the year for Vegas before there’s some more changes within that roster. So, of those teams, I’m going to go to Vegas at plus 475. And then I look at the East. And listen, as I say, there are I’m out on Florida without Barov. We can take that out. Um, you know, Carolina, maybe they’ll take that next step and it would be pretty cool if Eers finally, you know, gets all the run that, you know, a lot of people around here have thought he would be and he can be that difference maker. But this isn’t a guy that, you know, is a, you know, a Cons candidate each and every year. So, I still think the jur the verdict is out on that. Guys, I got to tell you something. I think the Leafs this year, well, I’m not picking them to win the division. I actually love what they’ve done in the aftermath of Mitch Mner. And I think this team is going to be a little different. And I think they’re going to be a hell of a lot harder to play for. And I do think that come playoff time, this could be. So, how about how about this for the Come on. Sign me up for Leafs to win the East and Vegas to win the West. Going up against his old team in the Stanley Cup final. Hey, we might need an exclusive on that. Um the uh 30 for 30. That 30 for 30 is going to be incredible. Exact matchup, Vegas and Toronto. Um, listen, as I say, I mean, compared to all these other teams with a depleted Panther team, I mean, the one team that worries about me, it’s not actually Carolina, it’s Tampa. I mean, I still think getting out of the Atlantic is going to be the most difficult thing. And I’ll tell you what, right now, I will bet on the team that comes out of the Atlantic to beat the team that comes out of the Met when it comes to the semifinals. But, uh, I think the Leafs are really live. I think they’re far more built for the playoffs. I mean, if Stallers can be healthy, I mean, if they can have two quality goalies that are healthy, I mean, I think that they’re as good as anyone in this. And at 8 to one, I think it’s a great great number. I I’m ready to run for a brick wall, hus like I My heart is my heart’s beating out of my chest right now. I thought you got so fired up. You You’ve got my mind You got my mind racking here. I almost would love to see maybe, you know, divisional team odds like team from the Atlantic to win the cup or team from the Atlantic to go to the Eastern Conference Finals, something like that. Maybe we’ll we’ll get Ev Dog and the boys to cook something up like that. But for my conference winners, I mean, I don’t know how I follow that up at all now, but I’ll I’ll start things off here in the East because I do agree with you. Said it a billion times during this program. Now, the East is completely wide open, and I have never once believed in the Hurricanes. I think they’re absolutely fraudulent. I I think the analytical dorks and and the sports books have always loved this team, and they haven’t been able to get it done. I I don’t know what that love is for this team, and I’m not going to start believing in them now. We talked about the Panthers at Nauseium. Too many miles, too many injuries, not going to happen. The Devils and the Rangers. I know you like the Devils this year, Hus, but it’s Sheldon Keefe. I don’t really think this group is built for the playoffs anyways. The Rangers, they’re frauds, too. The teams that I look at are the Leafs and we know the skeletons in their closet and and Tampa. And Tampa, I know you don’t have Stamos anymore, but that core is the same uh pretty much as as the teams that won cups and went on deep playoff runs. Vaselki certainly scares me, but he was on the ice a couple uh days ago. Now he is back with the team. Looks like he’s getting healthy. So, at plus 450 for them to go to the conference, a team that’s done this before, sorry, to win the conference. I really like that number. Speaking of that number on the West, I’m going to go with two bets here. Here’s the shorter one first. Colorado plus 450. All the good jujub and good vibes that I’ve got with these Winnipeg people listening to this program out the window now that that I’ve picked the Avalanche, but they do have elite talent. They have depth scoring. They’ve got a strong back end. The only thing that does scare me is the goalending in McKen Mackenzie Blackwood. Can he get the job done? That’s really tough. This is more of a bet on their up up and top echelon talent. Look what the Oilers have been able to do. Look at what they’ve been able to do to get to the finals to backto back years. I think McKinnon is in the same category as a Conor McDavid. I think Martin Natius is a guy that’s he’s starting to take the next step as well. I think they’ve got the talent to do it. Blackwood just has not he just needs to catch fire at the right time and at plus 450 I think this is a team that can make a deep run and I’ve been doing it all day long all program long the numbers crazy Jets plus 1150 to make the conference and I know they haven’t done it yet but at some point you got to get it done and at plus 1150 that number is disgusting it is disrespectful so I’ll put a little sprinkle on the Jets to make it to the cup I love this you know all our times working together. We’ve just figured out a way, you know, we’re not going to bet our own teams. We’ll bet each other’s teams to win and then can ride along with it. Uh Jake, what about you? We’ve brainwashed each other, Hus. That’s where we’re at. Uh listen, I I think I think the Jets have good value. I I went with a different team from the West, and I’m glad we haven’t talked about them yet. Um and I and I’m probably going to lose some fans on this show by backing this team, but I’m going to take Dallas because if not now, then when? What when is the time that Dallas is going to win this division? Plus 450. They’ve made three straight trips to the Western Conference final. Come away with no finals appearances in the Stanley Cup. Um they’ve made four trips in their last six seasons. Like this core, it’s starting to run out for this core. I think Ben is on the IR right now. I’m not I didn’t get a chance to check where his injury is, but Ben, Sean, Duchain, I know they got the pieces around them. Robertson, hints, rantin, Johnston, they got Harley and he on the back end on Jeret. Like the main core, they got some big names there. They need to find a way to get it done in the playoffs. Hopefully, they’ve been far enough now that it’s like, okay, we know what it’s going to take to get over that hump. And I think it’s just like at some point, you got to break through that wall. And if Dallas doesn’t do it this year, then what does it look like next year? You know what? Like Sean, I think he’s on close to being on an expiring contract. You just gave Duchine four more years. Like, you got to find a way to get over that hump and into the Stanley Cup final. So, I know as much as Winnipeg Jets fans don’t want to hear it, I’m going to back uh Dallas at plus 450. And then uh listen, I was texting with Patty last night and you know, basically the the message was listen, I didn’t take him, but there’s a path. Well, I couldn’t avoid him. 8 to1 on the Toronto Maple Leafs to win the East. This is the only team that took Florida to seven last year. I know they got smoked in game seven. I will not deny it. And they have game seven issues. But the what Trey Leving has done with this team after losing Mitch Mner is nothing short of a miracle. Brings in Matias Melli. You know, we’re going to see what he looks like. He’s probably going to start on the third line. Eastern count looks like he’s going to make the jump to the NHL at least to start the season on the fourth line with Loren Lton. Um but the top six is still really solid. It’s Matthews Nomi uh Knander Tavvarz and McMahon. Like this team top to bottom is looking real solid. All six defenseman uh healthy ready to roll. Um that McCabe Tanv shutdown pairing is going to be really really fun to watch for us Leaf fans. And then like you mentioned, Hus, if you can get two healthy goalenders, you know, we’ll see what’s going on with Wool, but Ster’s got his deal. You know, it seems by all accounts, by all the talks that he’s come into this season um you know, with really high expectations for himself and for this team. I I think the value is too good not to take the Leafs at 8 to1. And I’ll be honest, like you go down that list, you know, outside of a healthy Florida team, Tampa Bay, like no one from the Metro really strikes fear into me. Listen, you might want to clip this because we could be down the line and the Leafs could be losing to a team in the Metro in the Eastern Conference final and it’ll be hilarious joke. I get all that, but I don’t know. I just I’m not buying the Carolina Hurricanes of the world. I’m not buying the New Jersey Devils of the world. Um, and I think it’s as open for the Leafs as it’s ever been. So, Leafs at 8 to1 is my number on the East. Yeah. And I mean, listen, we don’t I mean, we’ll just quickly we just made conference picks. So, I mean, here are your cup odds right now before the puck drops. Uh, Edmonton and Carolina 8:1. Uh, ABS and Golden Knights 9:1. Panthers and Dallas 10:1. Tampa 12. Jersey 14. Leafs 17. Kings and Jets 20. Uh, and then we get down to the 30s with the Caps, Ottawa, and the New York Rangers. I’m just going to say this right now. I think the Leafs at 17 to1 is maybe the best value bet on the board. I listen I I’ve been here listen to about the Jets at 20 to1 considering what they did last year. I mean, basically the two teams that I’m picking, one’s at 9 to1, one’s at 17 to1. And again, going back to my scenario of Toronto Stanley Cup final, I’m just imagining the media scrums around the number new number 93 on Vegas when he comes in. Like the funny thing is he’ll escape the Toronto um you know the the media horde and everything like that and then leaves and then has to face his demons and his old team in the cup final. Um listen I think you know if you like the two teams that we you that you picked you probably put a little sprinkle on both of them. Um Vegas is you know listen they’ve done it before. I think that, you know, if they can get to the cup final, they’ll be live. I wouldn’t be surprised. By the way, here’s a little prediction. Don’t be surprised if the Vegas Golden Knights um like Carter Hart’s going to sign somewhere. That to me is like the perfect place for him to go in. No one’s going to really care about everything that happened. In fact, because of the fact that the way that they were not guilty, exonerated, whatever you want to call it, uh I think they’ll actually be in a market like that, probably some real support to give the guy a second chance. Um you add a player like that, I mean, if they could add him into the mix, I think you’re talking about, you know, um you know, a much improved goalending side of things. So anyways, Vegas at 9 to1. Listen, if you want a number that makes sense of a team that I think is going to be a hell of a tough out and frankly more playoff ready, it’s Toronto at 17 to1. Um, just based on on those two picks. I mean, Patty, I don’t know if you just want to quickly touch on, you know, your uh your your your cup winner and then we’ll get it to Jake and then we’ll dive into the players. Well, I think when you look at the top of the board, you look at the Oilers and and I it’s hard to argue that this Oilers team doesn’t have a legitimate chance to get back there with McDavid with dry settle. They’ve done it two years in a row, but you talk about the distractions, husading him, but like, you know, maybe he finally gets it done and wins a cup and then there’s no contract and he comes home to Toronto and tries to win his childhood team a Stanley Cup. Okay, I’m I’m I’m just kidding. But no room for him in to no room for him. They’re going to be doing a parade at 17 to1. But if you want to bet the Oilers, if you really do want to bet the Oilers, which I don’t. I agree with you. I actually don’t. You know, they’re going to take a nose dive at some point in the last two years. The skyy’s been falling in Edmonton. You’re going to be able to get them at a better number at 10, 11, even nine. Like, that’s even a better number that you’re getting. This is the worst number that you’ll probably get for a very long time. This happens every year with the Oilers. So, if you’re going to bet the Oilers and bet them at the top of the board, wait. Just wait. Looking at other teams, I talked about uh Tampa. I like them at 12 to1. I think their path is is certainly uh there. The Jets, I’ve been all over them. So, I’d be crazy not to take a look at them at 20 to1. But a team that hasn’t been mentioned on the program at all and a team that I actually really like a lot and almost took them in some of these other categories, but I figured I give them the longot touch here. The Washington Capitals at 30 to1 is a long shot that I do really like. They shocked this the entire league last year. They finished first in the East 111 points. They knocked off Montreal in five and then ran into Carolina and lost in the semifinals. Now I I think the Caps have everything that makes me believe that they’ll be in the MA mix again. Um Alex Ovetkin showed zero signs of slowing down last year. John Carlson remains a number one defender on that blue line. I thought Jacob Chikin was a great ad as well, but for me, the Jack Adams winner, Spencer Carberry has completely changed the makeup of the way that this team plays, and it is built for playoff hockey. And even in the regular season, they’re 9153 and 20 in the last two years that he’s got them to the playoffs. And would this Josh I know you’re a big script guy, but would this not be a great script as well? Alex Ovuchkin fading off into the sunset, winning another Stanley Cup. He’s already the all-time goal scorer. He really has nothing else to achieve in his career except at another Stanley Cup and put him into that upper echelon of multi-up winning uh players. Love it. Jake, do I just want to put you right down at 17 to1 for the Buds or uh is there somebody else that uh Yeah, here. Do you want me to I’ll read right off my notes? 17 to1 exclamation point. This may be the longest odds in the Matthews era since the first few seasons and for a lot of the same reasons I mentioned above. This is too good a value. That’s where I’m at. At 17 to1 seemed like a crazy number. I mean the last I I know they lost MNER guys. Like I’m not discrediting that but Mner when it comes to the time that you need to win Stanley Cups wasn’t there. So at the end of the day whether he’s there or not there’s no real difference in my eyes. And like I said they’ve gotten deeper. The goalending is there. This team can stay healthy. Mind you, Austin Matthews, I don’t think at any point was healthy last year. His back got hurt and he was never the same. You can go back and watch like some games he drove flashes. He was not healthy. This year, by all accounts, what all the conversations he’s come in as healthy as he’s been. I know we’ve said that every year and it feels like he gets hurt every year, but like if this team stays healthy and so far so good, like I I’m I think 17 to1 is crazy if you’re not touching that. So, I don’t know. Yeah, I I I’m going to bet it and I and I’m I’m fine to be let down because I’ve been let down plenty of times. I’ve been there before. I’ll be there again. Also, when I I gotta go back to a point made earlier in the show when Patty said we don’t take the regular season serious and you don’t get up for regular season games, you should have a camera on me in my living room during game 43 because if you don’t think I’m getting up for regular season games, you’re crazy, Patty. Yeah. And I mean, people are going to see that weekly on WST throughout the year is the uh the ups and downs. All right, let’s quickly bang off a couple quick player props before we’re done. Um, folks, get on over. I mean, there’s point props, there’s goal props on like most of the significant players in the league. So, uh, we just basically grabbed a couple each. I’ll quickly fire off my couple. Um, Jper Brat over 24 and a half goals. Um, you know, he last year ended up only coming in at 21. Um, but I mean this is a guy that was well over 80 points, it just seemed like it shifted away from goals a little bit more. For the number just to be 24 and a half. The thing that I love the most about Brat is that he doesn’t miss games. I mean, the last four seasons, I think he’s missed one game. So, I mean, I do think Jersey is going to be good, especially I mean, again, if Jack Hughes stays healthy, I think it’s there might be a little bit more finishing. I think he’s a lock for 25 goals if he can play the full 82 games and we get what we get out of it. And on the other side, I’m gonna actually fade Nasm Cadri. Cadri’s goal total is 28 a half. Um, listen, Cadri last year had an absolutely incredible season. And, you know, he in a lot of ways I think sort of was the impetus for Calgary to be such a competitive team last year. I mean, he had 35 and the year before 29, but again, Masam Cadri is now 34 years old. I think you’re going to have some younger players maybe stepping up and doing a little bit more of the finishing. I I think it’s natural to think that could there could be a slight fall off. Now, he’s still going to be an important player for Calgary. He’ll still play lots, but it’s a lot to ask him to basically touch 30 goals again. So, uh, I’m going to take under 28 and a half for goals on on Nasm Cadri. Uh, Patty, quickly fire away with a couple player props you like. Yeah, normally I mean like I came on the program here with the NFL and I said like you probably should take some unders, but I I I honestly I couldn’t find an under. I couldn’t even really get past one player. I’m taking two overs in two categories on one player. Uh, William Knander over 39 and a half goals and over 84 and a half points. And I know Jake is chuckling and smirking. I am the number one card carrying member of the William Knee Lander fan club. But he finished with 40 plus goals in three consecutive seasons. He pumped 45 in the back of the net last year. Only Leon Dryidle had more goals than him. I don’t think enough people talked about how elite of a goalcoring year William Knander had. And now the fact. So there’s his goal scoring. I think no regression for this guy. There’s zero chance that this guy regresses from a goalc scoring standpoint. You also factor in the fact that Mitch Mner is gone. So when it comes to the points total, he had 84 last year. He’s going to have the puck on his stick more often on that power play. He is now going to be the guy saucer passing one-times to Austin Matthews, a healthy Austin Matthews at that point as well. So, you know, for him to basically replicate a season that he had last year where he’s probably going to have more opportunities to play with Matthews at some points five on five, but more importantly be more of a important integral role on that power play. I had to roll with my boy Willie here. I love the uh I love the Knander props and I mean again I’m not in the market but from outside looking in and I know Matthews is is the captain and he’s the alpha. To me, Nelander is like 1B. And I think that the loss of MNER. I I really expect Nelander to be the guy that takes a big step forward. We think of him more as a leader, not the other guy after Matthews and Mner. And I think it is sort of Willy’s time this year. And he he is going to be like, listen, if all of our love for the Leafs and doing things in the playoffs, that’s the guy to me that will be the catalyst to kind of pick up some of the slack, including a good season from Austin. What about you, Jakey? Yeah, I got a couple guys. Um, start with a point total over. I went overs as well, Patty, so I’m totally with you. Um, this guy was mentioned a little earlier. He’s on a contract here. He’s only 26 years old. Martin Ness over 74 and a half points playing on the top line in Colorado next to McKinnon and Nushkin. Top power play minutes. U, he had a career-high 83 last year. And, you know, that included 55 with Carolina, 28 with Colorado. Um, so I think we can expect another big season going into free agency for NES. I think he’s just in a really good spot. Um, I think 75 points is very much doable. You know, especially, you know, Ranton and Zeta Town in Colorado. It’s, you know, he is, you know, a top three player on that forward group. He’s going to be playing a ton of minutes uh alongside, you know, one of the great players in McKinnon. Power play time with Mar McKinnon. It just sets up really well for Nas. And then I’m trying to get back in the good books here because I know I took Dallas to win the conference, but Kyle Connor over 35 and a half goals in a contract here. I I just I have to have a piece of that. Um this guy’s scored at at a 36 plus goal pace in five of his last six seasons. I know he hasn’t played every single game and that’s a concern staying healthy if you’re Kyle Connor, but you know to me this guy’s a 40 point a 40 goal scorer uh season in season out especially at this point in his career, the prime of his career. Um so I think we take Connor, you know, we all get together here as the Winnipeg Jets crew WST and we all take Kyle Connor to go over 35 and a half goals and then you know what we do after that us we sprinkle a little rocket Rashard at 50 to1. I love it. I love it. Well, speaking of Connor, and I will say this, I mean, he has been pretty durable. He missed what 17 games the year before. Uh, but 82 8279 in his last three coming off a 41 goal season, had 47 in 79. Uh, there is an exclusive right now at cool bet that you can get. Kyle Connor hit 50 is at 17 to1. Uh, all over that. And and I’ll say this, the absence of Eers, like the craziest thing about Con Kyle Connor’s 41 goals, he might have had one or two on the power play last year and that has to change. Like this a number one power play and for some reason their number one goal scorer wasn’t scoring. Tell me that that doesn’t change somewhat especially with Eers being gone and Perfetti kind of moving into that spot. So, uh, yeah, that’s a bit of a tease for some of the things we’ll be talking about on our Jets focused ones a little bit later on, but, uh, certainly do like that. And again, check the exclusives, uh, Winnipeg Sports Talk and the NHL ones because Kyle Connor to get 50. They hung a 17 to1 boost on that if you want to jump on that. All right, to finish up, a great selection of awards uh, available. You got the uh Jack Adams which is just completely wide open. Kale Mar and Quinn Hughes heavy favorites for the Norris Trophy. Hellabuk three to one to win a third straight Bezna over Shurken at six. Vascali at eight. Um Matthews and Dryidle co-favorites to win the Rocket or the Rocket Rashard. Um, the Art Ross trophy, Conor McDavid, Gap, Nathan McKinnon, Nikita Cooerov, and the Calder Trophy, Ivan Demidov. I know there’s so much hype. One plus 175. Listen, let me start my picks for the awards right now with the Calder Trophy. Um, Ze Buham is going to get a lot of run in Minnesota. He’s 14 to1. That’s the next number after Demidov. And listen, if you know anything about the history of these awards, Montreal Canadian players get a ridiculous amount of attention and extra love with the French media and the media overall. Um, look no further than, you know, again losing the MVP to Theodore that year. So, but this number is way too short. Um, Isaac Howard, I guess, is going to have a chance to play in the top six maybe with the Oiler. I’m not counting on that. Those things that can end in two weeks. The guy that I actually love on this because I think he’s the real deal. Already seen a little bit of him in the preseason. He’s been just phenomenal. Is the number one overall pick from this last year’s draft. And Matthew Schaefer, he’s 17 to1. He’s going to be playing right out of the gate for the New York Islanders. Worldclass speed. There’s a reason why he was the no-brainer number one pick. So, I think he’s also got that. And of course playing in the New York market not going to hurt him as well if he has a big year. Love Matthew Schaefer at 17 to1. Now listen, just before I make my next pick, I’ve got a question for you guys. Do you know who Dan Muse is? Have you ever heard of Dan Muse? Name sounds familiar. Dan Muse. It didn’t sound familiar to me. And I was going through the list of coach of the year candidates. I’m like, who the hell is Dan Muse? Um, the more you know, he’s the coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins this year. Um, again, okay, no idea. No idea. For those of you that are wondering, he’s 35 to1 to win the coach of the year. Coach of the year is almost an unbettable number right off the bat. I mean, unless you think there’s some team that’s going to make a huge jump this season, jump on that guy. Um, but, you know, if I’m the Calder Trophy, I absolutely love. And, uh, you know, if I’m looking for a number that could be, um, you know, could be some good value. I’m looking at the Rocket Rashard trophy. Now, I get it. Matthews and Dryidle are going to be like the the the big heavy favorites. I’m going to throw in a 10 to one on David Pernneck. Now listen, the Boston Bruins have very low expectations this year. Um Past is still absolutely world class, is going to play a ton. He’ll be the guy on the power play. Um there’s a reason why he’s not one of the favorites, but I think there’s some value at 10 to one if you want to sprinkle on that. And uh as far as the Art Ross trophy toh have the most points in the league, I don’t know how you go anywhere other than McDavid at the top of the list at plus 175 to have the most points in the league barring uh barring injury. Uh Pat, you got an award winner or two to finish it up? Yeah, I got a couple, but just off the top when you said that with the the Rocket, what’s Ovkin’s number? Because if he didn’t get hurt last year, he probably wins that thing. That might be worth a sprinkle depending on what the number 35 to one. I mean, I’m putting at least I’m putting a dime on like that. Like, you got to think about sprinkling that. Again, who knows where the, you know, regression is there. But no, I I started things off and so funny texting with Jake last night talking about some of our picks and me being like, ah, not going to be that Leafs heavy. But it ends up my card is pretty damn leaf heavy because I got Austin Matthews 15 to1 to win the heart trophy. Now, if he can get back to his goalcoring ways, putting 60 plus goals in the back of the net, being a two-way threat, just a dominance presence on the ice without Mitch Mner on the ice, I think there is going to be a huge narrative out there that okay, yes, Austin Matthews is one of the best players on the planet. And the fact you can get him at 50 to 15 to1, the number for me just looked a lot of value, especially when you look at the true meaning of the award. And I think last year the voters actually finally proved that the meaning of the award actually means the word. Value, value, value. The most valuable player. Hellabuk was that player last year. So I think you lose MNER. If the Leafs don’t take any regression, if Matthews gets back to where he was a few years ago, how can he not be in the conversation for most valuable players? I wanted to go with the Rocket Rashard and I was thinking, you know what, McDavid, hearing him talk a lot about I have to score more. it’s in the best interest of my team if I put the back the puck in the back of the net. And looking at him at 10 to one, it’s I think there’s a lot of value there. But then I you talk about those exclusive hus and I I scroll down and I see McDavid is score 50 plus 1250. This seems like a way better bet. And I know I’m kind of going rogue here. That’s kind of been the theme of the show, I guess, for myself anyways. But I think this is just a way better number because the guy scored 64 goals. a couple years ago won the Rocket Rashard. He’s already said it is in the team’s best interest if he puts the puck in the net more. The best players in the league, what they do is when they focus on one area in the offseason that they hone that craft and we saw Crosby do it over the years. We’ve seen McDavid do this before that the year that he scored 64, he was working on his shot. And it sounds like that’s a lot of what McDavid is doing this year. And the fact that this contract, Black Cloud, continues to go over his head. Could you imagine if not only does he lead the league in scoring, but he leads the league in goals, like it’s only going to cause even more of a circus. But with that being said, Hus, you said it. You still got Matthews, you still got Pastron, you still got Dry Settle, you got Capri off. You could bet it at 10 to1. He could score 50 goals and still not even win the damn award. So, why would I not take 1250, a way better number, and not have to worry about any other goal scorer on the planet except for McDavid getting back to his goal scoring ways? I love that number. Yeah. All right. That’s uh that I mean, listen, I think there McDavid numbers will be really interesting. All right, Jake, real quick. Uh you got one or two? Yeah, I just wanted to off the top, Jack Adams, I don’t mind Rick talking. I think he was 30 to1. Um you know, if Philly takes a jump, he gets that team early playing. Trevor Zegress. Yeah, I I love that. Um wasn’t in my picks. My first one I’m going to I got a long shot for the Norris. Um you know, a team we’ve talked about a ton and I already mentioned it. Alex Petrangelo out in Vegas right now. He’s injured. I don’t know what his timeline looks like, but I read foreseeable future. Um I think he had to get reconstructive surgery and there was no guarantee. He’s he’s going to be gone a while. Shay Theodore to win the Norris 75 to1. Uh yeah, I I’ll take that. uh valuewise. Listen, I have a hard time believing anyone not named Quinn Hughes or Kale Mar will probably win this ward award in within the next, you know, however many years. But if you’re going to take a shot, might as well take a nice big one. Shay Theodore is going to be playing top power play units. You know, as strong defender as it is, he’s about a 22 minute a night guy. If we see those numbers jump up to about a 24 minute a night guy with Petrangelo out and a ton more points than what he’s usually putting up on a power play unit that consists of Marner Hurdle Eel Stone. Listen, I I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibilities that Shay Thor Theodore could be in the mix. Um especially, you know, you never know what’s going to happen with injuries and stuff. I don’t wish injury injuries upon anybody, but just putting it out there, 75 to1, I thought was a really nice number um for a guy that, you know, could have a big jump in points this season. The other one I really like, Hust, and I thought you were about to take it with the CER. I always love to bet the rookies of the year because you never really know, right? You never really know what we’re going to see. And I kind of agree with you, Isaac Howard. I don’t know if I’m bought into that storyline just yet, but you might you guys have a little bit of uh familiarity with this guy going back to last year’s playoffs. Um he hasn’t played a ton of NHL games, but he’s a 21-year-old 18 to1 on Jimmy Snugrude, one of the great names in the NHL right now, playing topline minutes with with with Buchavic and and Robert Thomas. Uh first power play, you know, projected to be a top guy on this St. Louis team that, you know, did make it into the playoffs last year and gave Winnipeg, you know, seven really good games. So, um I I I think this is a nice piece for St. Louis. You know, like I said, he’s not an 18-year-old coming into the league. He has a bit more experience. He played three years at the University of Minnesota. He’s 21 years old. You know, like I think it’s going to be an easier jump for him to go from college straight to the pros. He played seven games last year in the regular season, had four points, played seven playoff games, also had four points. So, you know, if he puts up some points this year in St. Louis, I think he could start making some noise um down the stretch. So, yeah, Jimmy Snugarude 18 to1. Yeah, as a Horn Ryan Singh would say, Snugarude. Um that was we we got a lot used to that on the weekend. Hey, one more on the way out. Listen, Mar’s the favorite for the Norris at plus 17 145. I will tell you, great value bet that I think I’m going to get on. We had a goalie win the heart last year. Kale Mar right there with the best players in the league. He’s 30 to1 for the hard trophy. I think that will be uh that will be live. Um guys, great chat folks. It’s all up at Cool Bet right now. Check the exclusives as well. There’s a bunch of great props for the upcoming season.
