Kyren Williams, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams & More Rams Players React To 23-26 Loss To 49ers in Week 5
This is the second time this year already that you guys walk out of here going, we should have won that game. How do you process that so you can move on? Yeah, I think we responded last time um really well um the next game. Um you know, so I know we’re capable of it. Um now it’s just making sure we we don’t have this feeling again. Um so I think we you know we get back to work. Um we got some couple days off here to you know um learn from what we did wrong. Um take the lessons that we did well and then move on to the Ravens. We just kind of got in here. here. I missed your first answer, but how would you describe the way this guy this game ended for you guys? Yeah, it’s disappointing loss. Um, you know, we one we let slip. Um, credit to them. They they made their plays, we didn’t make enough plays. Um, but disappointing. Um, you know, not the outcome we wanted. I have to ask you, was the human nature factor a play in this game because they were short-handed, missing the quarterback, their two starting receivers, and uh, you know, I’m just going to say maybe the defense was just not as ready as you guys normally are. No, we don’t we don’t underestimate anybody. This is the NFL. Um, they get paid, too. Um, it does matter who’s, uh, you know, they’re great football players. Um, I don’t think we took them lightly. I just think they made more plays. Um, you know, we got to play better, uh, all four quarters in OT there, um, and give our offense better chance um, get better field position. Thanks, N. Those first couple drives in the first half, they were able to move the ball pretty much up and down the field at Will. Uh, I just felt like, you know, um, making the throws and stuff like that, um, he was getting the ball out pretty quick. Um, getting some open guys. um felt like we weren’t getting after him enough, but that’s basically what was happening. We just getting the ball out pretty quick. Emotions are pretty high right now in this locker room. How do you guys just move on and get ready for the Rams next week? Um I just feel like you just can’t let them beat you twice. Um you just got to learn from this and you know, take this ass motivation. Um it hurts at the same time, like I said, you can’t let him beat you twice. So, you just got to get back to work next week. Byron, what uh what got the pass rush going in overtime that made it what was hard like early in the game and why did it start to come together in overtime? Uh I just felt like, you know, early on, you know, we weren’t really getting a snap count like that and um we weren’t getting off the ball as fast. Um I feel like when we kind of settled down, um got kind of feel for the snap count, started getting off the ball and rushing better. Um getting the ones that we wanted and just, you know, taking advantage of it. When when you guys lose a game like this, how do how do you come back? I mean, this this is a sting. Guys are yelling, guys are pissed off. Um, you know, just adversity. Uh, something that, you know, we used to, you know, happened last year. Just got to learn from it, build on this. You know, at the same time, like I said, do hurt. Uh, we got three days off. Got to regroup, get ready for Baltimore next week. That’s all we got to learn from it. And what is the biggest thing that you guys will be focusing on this week ahead of Baltimore? Um, like I said, don’t let it beat beat us twice. Learn from our mistakes. Uh, the little things. I just feel like, you know, early on we gave up 14 points that quick. Um, just got to learn from that. Uh, I try to start fast. Uh, but we won’t have to come back behind, you know, to win. But just got to learn from my mistakes. How do you process this difficult loss? Um, I don’t know. I don’t know. I’m not really sure how to answer that. It’s ones like that hurt for sure. I mean, it’s it’s a game that, you know, it’s a good football team, but we we expect to win a game like that, especially at home. Was that you yelling in here? Okay. No, Devonte. Coach McVey said, you know, for himself, he wasn’t a fan of the uh final play there. What was your thoughts on that call? I mean, I don’t I’m not going to comment on whether or not I’m was a fan of it. I’m If it works, then I’m a fan of it. If it doesn’t, then I’m not, obviously. I mean, that’s that’s typically how it goes. Um, but I mean, you got to you you it’s not my job to call plays. That’s that’s his job. And uh you know, I’m I’m sure he’s beating himself up over it because it didn’t work. But like again, if if we find a way to get the first down, um then it’s a different uh conversation. When you have a game like this where there are mistakes in all three phases, like what can you take away from this as a team to be able to move forward? Well, I mean, it’s not a lot of, you know, joyous faces in here, but it’s it’s definitely something to be said about a team that can play as bad as what we did and still have a shot to win the game. So, um, we didn’t win, so that doesn’t help. But, you know, it should it should feel a little bit promising moving forward just knowing that we played about as, you know, turnovers didn’t play well um early, you know, didn’t didn’t help our defense out. Defense wasn’t helping us out early. So, was not complimentary football and still had a had a chance at the end. So, I mean, I guess there’s something there. Last one. As a vet, um, this game, the Philly game, it’s almost like you guys had so many opportunities when you just couldn’t close it. Yeah. Can you learn from this down the road so you guys learn as a group to to be able to close games out like this? Yeah. I mean, you think you could learn from that before. I mean, we we know we got to close a game out, but it’s it’s about executing and and things timing up at the right time and uh that didn’t happen for us tonight. Thanks. Thanks a lot. You guys don’t usually have games like this at all as a team. How do you sort of process this? Uh sucks. I don’t know. For me, I just got to hold on to the ball, you I feel like I let the team down at the one yard line, you know, not, you know, securing the one thing that matters and, you know, scoring a touchdown. So, for me, I just, you know, I put this all on me honestly and just knowing that I got to be better. What happened on that fourth down call there? Uh, I don’t know. I just got to, you know, keep my legs driving, run behind them people, and, you know, get that yard that we need. How do you have a chance there or they just Yeah, there’s always a chance. I mean, I don’t know. I don’t know. I I feel like that wouldn’t even we would even got there if I would just would have held on to the ball, honestly. How do you learn from that? Not hanging on the ball in that one. I know you were trying to get the score there. Yeah. Um go back to work. That’s all we can do. Um obviously filming the ball is not something you know you do in football and so um just got to get back to work. Continue to keep trusting it, believing in it, and knowing that you know I’ll be better for it. Talk to me about the importance of execution. Uh when you execute, you win football games. When you don’t, you lose. So that’s the most important thing about it. Sean said uh looking back you didn’t like the play call the call the play he called on fourth and one. I’m assuming you wanted the ball in your hands in that situation. I mean shoot it. Yeah obviously I want the ball every time. You know that’s just the kind of competitive player that I am. Um can’t do nothing about it now honestly. Just like I said continue just keep getting better. Um we all y’all I guess we all made mistakes but you know I feel like mine was the one that let the team down. What’s the biggest lesson to take away uh from the self-loa? Um that you got to fight through adversity and that, you know, when times like this, it’s not it’s not time to shy away. It’s not time to run away, but it’s time to um embrace it and be better for it, man. You know, so like I said, it’s got to get back to work and continue to keep trusting and believing and knowing that, you know, it’s going to be better for it. How would you describe the way you guys feel after this loss of uh I think disappointed would be the word that uh comes to mind. And I think it would uh be the feeling that everybody feels in here. Um yeah, disappointed. What did Sean say to you guys after? There was uh there were moments in the game where we fought back and gave ourselves opportunities to to go and win the football game and uh we just didn’t execute on them. And it’s been uh not necessarily a recurring thing, but a moment of in in each game we’ve had the opportunity to come back and kind of make a play to get the tide to turn and we haven’t been we weren’t able to make those ones today. Sean said he did not like his call on fourth down at the end. Um just with how you guys are moving as a passing attack, is there a part of you that kind of wishes you could have finished the game as a passing attack or do you kind of get running in that situation? Uh, I think in the short yardage we trust our guys and especially I think the physicality that we’ve been trying to uh adopt as our identity and I think I I know uh I I just barely saw the clip on on social media and uh I I know I I owe one to Kiran and that’s something I pride myself in and they they made a good play and it’s something that we’ll learn from and we’ll be better and uh we’ll make sure that we get that opportunity again we’ll execute. Fuka, what’s the biggest lessons you guys can take away from this one tonight? Uh I think there uh in the past game those are those some of those opportunities we had down the field uh kind of spread out throughout the game. We got to be able to come down with those and uh with our limited possessions in the first half uh when you get our opportunities in second half we got to be able to execute on those and so I don’t know Tay wants those back and uh I know I had a couple out there I I know I can make those plays on. So do a better job on my part. Couple more guys going into a kind of a mini buy. You guys had the opportunity to kind of have a a nice good weekend. How does this kind of impact the way, you know, things are going to go for you guys over the weekend? Yeah, I think it there definitely won’t be too much smiling. Um, but I think it’ll be it’ll be fun for the guys to be able to recover, get a little break mentally and then be able to come back. Uh, we got some some games on the road that we’re excited for and uh we we’re going to get as healthy as we can over these next couple days and be ready to prepare for Baltimore. What what happened in Philadelphia and what happened tonight, are these things that will serve you guys well down the road? I think 100%. It was an opportunity for us uh last Sunday to come back and show kind of what we got after losing to Philadelphia. And I think it’ll be something that everybody let’s kind of marinate over the weekend and when we hit the ground running uh next week when we’re back ready preparing for Baltimore, I know there will be a sense of urgency that we’re moving around with. All right, guys. Thank you.

The runningback coach needs to be fired. Not getting these guys ready, fumbling, dropping passes and hand offs. Inexcusable
The special team coach has to go! And we need to bench some players. McVay's coaching is questionable and he's overthinking these plays. This cost us the game it was a lot of factors our defense fell to cover in press, the running game was mediocre and Williams does not have ball security. Use your guys Puka or Adams in the redzone. Could have even done a play action but this is sad! This stuff is far to familiar 🤔 way too many mistakes tired of hearing this over every lost 💔 we need drastic change and a gameplan Go Rams 🐏
Man rams beat themselves this game tbh
Give kyren his 21 million and send him on his way. He can’t hold onto the ball. It’s a legit weakness now. No excuses.
the titans looked decent against us………let that sink in……….play calling is ruining this season. 4rth and 1—> hunter………..
i am already thinking next year……….i mean at home against a preseason team? really? how embarrassing………dline stinks! better luck next year!!!!
I would not have interviewed Williams” and McVay always turns these games into debacles
Kyren Williams thank you for the 31 fantasy points but what was that fumble 💀
Hey guys Rams!!!! Rams must caught up for division NFC playoffs!!!!!! Come on bro!!!! Wake up more defense players and offensive players…!!! We want support you guys go Rams!!!! No more mistakes and no more fumbles and no more missing field goal… please 🙏🏼 doing the right way and be smart in your mind is faithful!!!! You can do it!!!!! Don’t gave up and keep going caught up!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
casinos are laughing
The only one that came to play was Stafford
We’ll be back.
I guess the Karty Party is shut down 😂
The lambs are back! They wet the bed again! The lambs are the most embarrassing team in nfl history.
Never be disappointed!
One of the greatest games ever, again!
Go Rams! Go Chargers!
this entire team should be embarrassed and disgusted with their performance against the 49ers. answered need to be found and quickly
they asking puka like he did anything wrong cmon now 😂
Sloppy play from the start didn’t look ready to play
The 49ers are still an average team. No way they are SB contenders.
To much overreacting, still 13 games to go, they will still win the division, watch and see 😊
the fumble he had at the one yard line he got punched in the dam face 😂 it’s alright kyren i’m surprised he didn’t end up knocked out cold that was a dt punching him with all his weight in the face 😂
Yes, Kyren made costly mistakes, but I also don’t think we get this close without him. He will be better. We will be better.
Kyren the fumble machine
There’s always a chance? Stfu 😂😂😂😂 u fumbled the ball goofy mf 😂😂😂 don’t cry do better
This is 100% on special teams the two games. This season have been literally because of special teams. I’m tired of the special teams coordinator and we need to get this undercover ops off our team Joshua Carti
Rams got exposed 😂 Frauds
karty needs to go asap, kyren cost us a super bowl last year and a big playoff game against detroit the year before and almost lost us the colts game last game, its simple situational football, hunter and corum need to share reps and trade kyren for a decent CB
Nate Landman is already one of the faces of the franchise. I love it!
Now go get a gosh darned CB by the trade deadline.
I don’t get why they hurt it was at our home that’s what I don’t understand it’s not a Super Bowl to be mad this much they lost take it to the chin next game move on plus again it was at our home not the rams .
SOSAR
Yes Rams did not win, but it did not help all u ticket holders sold your tickets to SF fans
Lost is lost go back to work..Move on..William Cry at work..
It's embarrassing to lose to the niners' practice squad. They had the jv team out there. 😢
I want my fade with kyren, cobie d-will and mcvay..tf are we doing?
Defense stunk on secondary…. fumbled at the end.. should have just let blake run it in. Smh.. bad play call at the end… too obvious..
Special team!!!? How many times you gonna let the other team block you??? Pathetic…!!! Against a decimated niners too!!!????
One punch assault was the difference. Miners won by default
Thank you Kyren Williams you won us this game ❤
LAMB CHOPS FOR DINNER YALL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Horrible defense. We made the SF OL look like all stars. Cornerbacks are soft no killer instinct. Kyren always fumbles when games are on the line. Blocked fg’s also mean the kicker needs to adjust. No reason there should be 3 blocked kicks in 2 games
This team can get away with all their poor execution against less than top organizations , but not against teams taught as well as Philly and the 49ers.
Horns Up!! 🤟💙💛
