Why Cincinnati Bengals’ ‘atrocious’ play spotlights Zac Taylor | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC

THEY’RE BETTER. WHEN OKANO HAS THE CONCEPTS AND EXPLAINS WHAT THEY’RE TRYING BENGALS HAVE LOST AGAIN. IT WASN’T AS BAD AS IT COULD HAVE BEEN. BUT STILL 3724, THE LIONS WENT INTO CINCINNATI AND TOOK CARE OF THE BENGALS WHO ARE NOW 2 AND 3. THE WORST 2 AND 3 TEAM. YEAH, I THINK YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE TO SEE A WEEK AGO, ZACK TAYLOR, THE COACH OF THE BENGALS WAS ALL IN BEHIND JAKE BROWNING YESTERDAY AFTER ANOTHER 3 INTERCEPTIONS. UH, TAYLOR SAID, AFTER A GAME LIKE THAT, WE’RE GOING TO LOOK AT ALL PERSONNEL TO MAKE SURE WE’RE DOING THE RIGHT THING. YOU KNOW. I MEAN THERE’S STARTING TO BE SOME TALK IS TAYLOR GOING TO SURVIVE. YEAH. I I THINK IT’S, I UNDERSTAND THAT AND I THINK THE KEY THERE IS IS BURROW ON BOARD WITH KEEPING TAYLOR OR JUST BURROW. SEE THIS AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO UPGRADE. I DON’T, I DON’T KNOW WHO BUT YOU KNOW SOME GREAT OFFENSIVE MIND OUT THERE THAT UP AND COMING. MAYBE THERE’S SOMEBODY BURROWS GOT HIS EYE ON AND AGAIN AGAIN IT’S A TOUGH BUSINESS. THIS IS THE WAY IT GOES. AND I I I LOOK WAY. ZACK TAYLOR IS EVER GETTING FIRED, IF HE’S GOT MONEY LEFT ON HIS CONTRACT, MIKE BROWN JUST DOESN’T DO THAT YOU’RE YOU’RE RIGHT ABOUT MIKE BROWN AND JERRY JONES, DON’T DO THAT BUT BUT I DO THINK AND I SAID THIS ON MY PODS A FEW TIMES LAST WEEK, THE WAY THEY’RE PLAYING AT FIRST, HE WENT OH WELL, THE COACHING STAFF’S HAVING AN EXCUSE BECAUSE JOE BURROW IS NOT OUT THERE, BUT THE PLAY HAS BEEN SO ATROCIOUS. IT’S NOW STARTING TO PUT A SPOTLIGHT ON THE COACHING STAFF TO GO. WAIT, WAIT WAS THE WHOLE TEAM, JOE BURROW? OR CAN SOMEBODY ELSE DO SOMETHING ELSE HERE? SO, IT’S, IT’S MAKING AS WE LOOK AT HOLY S***, JOE. JOE BURROW WAS COVERING A WHOLE LOT OF HOLES WITH THE CINCINNATI BENGALS AND COACHES. COME ON. YOU GOT TO MANAGE IT A LITTLE BIT. THIS GAME’S MISLEADING 3724. I MEAN IT WAS 28 TO 3 IN THE FOURTH QUARTER AND JAKE. JAKE BROWNING IN THE OFFENSE, PUT UP A LOT OF BS. NON-COMPETITIVE STATS, WHERE DETROIT WENT. WAIT, WE’RE UP BY 25. LET’S JUST BLEED CLOCK. LET’S NOT LET THEM MAKE ANY BIG PLAYS AND THEY FINALLY GOTTEN A RHYTHM AND STARTED TO, LIKE, SURGICALLY, DESTROY DETROIT, THAT WAY, BUT WITHIN THE COMPETITIVE PART OF THE FOOTBALL GAME, IT WAS LIKE, NOPE, YOU HAVE NO FREAKING CHANCE IN THIS GAME. CINCINNATI, IT WAS APPARENT THAT WAY AND THAT’S WHAT’S CONCERNING ALTOGETHER. WHAT TEAM WAS IT? WHERE THE PLAYER WAS SO GOOD? THAT THE COACHING STAFF LIKE WASN’T AS BUTTONED UP AS THEY NEEDED TO BE BECAUSE THEIR ATTITUDE WAS JUST LIKE HE’LL HE’LL THE PLAYER WILL FIGURE IT OUT. WAS IT JOSH ALLEN? I CAN’T REMEMBER IT. WAS SOMEBODY IN THE PAST 5 YEARS? UM YEAH. I MEAN WE’LL HAVE TO, WE’LL HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT DURING THE BREAK. I DON’T WANT THE FAME. ANYONE OR ANY, YOU KNOW? BUT BUT THERE THERE YOU AS YOU WERE SAYING THAT, IT WHERE THEY RELY SO MUCH ON THAT GUY. IT MIGHT THAT THEY DON’T OFFER AS A CARE OF OF EVERYTHING ELSE THAT THEY’RE JUST LIKE, OH, HE’LL FIGURE IT OUT, RIGHT? RIGHT. HE’LL FIGURE IT OUT. STUFF. HE’LL FIGURE IT OUT. WE JUST MAN, I I CAN’T REMEMBER. OH YEAH, THINK ABOUT BUT TOO REALLY, WITH TEAMS WITH, REALLY GREAT QUARTERBACKS. AND YOU KNOW, 1 OF MY PET PEEVES IS, IS IS UH, YEAH, YOU KNOW, COACH THE WHOLE TEAM, THE COACH, THE WHOLE TEAM GOING TO MAKE THAT TEAM. EVEN GREAT

  1. The Vikings and Broncos losses were total team failures. No QB would have won those games for the Bengals. But the Lions game was different. Overall the team played well enough to keep them in the game against a very good Lions team. It's impossible to overlook Browning's mistakes. The two interceptions in Bengals territory were easily the biggest plays of the game and they were inexcusable.

  2. Fact check: Bengals fired Marvin Lewis with one year left on his contract, same with Lou Anarumo. So yes, in fact the Bengals have and do fire coaches with money left owed.

  3. I think Zac is a good coach but I would love to see this team under a new coach. You can’t be an offensive minded coach while never developing a halfway decent oline. And I notice way too many times where he develops tunnel vision playcalling wise. Love to see Joe Brady or someone a bit more experience. Time will tell

  4. every time the lions win it’s more about how bad the team they played was….and less about how great the lions are.

then turn around and bring up that week 1 loss to green bay like that game is weighted differently than all the other games.

  5. Zac’s time is up. At minimum he needs to give up play calling. I want him gone but also don’t trust the bengals to get anyone good in his place.
