The Charlotte Hornets Rebuild is FANTASTIC!!

The Charlotte Hornets, a team that for the last decade have been constantly trying to retool and rebuild and fight their way into some form of success. After what I would claim to be a very, very strong draft class, this Charlotte Hornets team, I believe, has finally started to have a legitimate direction. And today, we’re going to get into this rebuild and just how good things can really be for the future of the Charlotte Hornets. And of course, I believe the state of this rebuild all needs to start with LaMelo Ball. And I believe with LaMelo Ball, the way that this team would need to build around him, if they truly look at him as the franchise cornerstone, that I think the best way to do so is to maximize his aggressiveness, but also make him a more of a playmaking front. So, what I mean by that is I think when you look at like LaMelo’s shot diet, right, like the 11 threes a game and the nine threes and the five, like the percentages ultimately don’t reflect the fact that he should be shooting that often. But I do think that if he’s at his best, he could be like a a more aggressive Tyrese Hallebertton. So, what I mean by that is at times Hallebertton will have this problem where he sort of gets too passive. He works too hard at getting everybody else involved. And then at that point, defenses don’t really respect him and his scoring game. But I think if LaMelo can truly maximize that that balance, that blend of I’m going to get mine, but I’m also going to help my teammates get theirs. I think LaMelo could probably average about like 24 and N. Really freaking good. Like at that point, too. guys like Khan Canipple, Brandon Miller, uh even like their big men, like all of these guys are then going to look significantly better and is going to help LaMelo be a more efficient scoreer and force defenses to play him differently because ultimately I think too like LaMelo’s inefficiencies, deficiencies at times hurt the Hornets. So that’s why I’m not a 100% sold that I’m not sure if the Hornets necessarily look at LaMelo and go like this is our cornerstone for the next 10 to 15 years. I don’t think they look at him that way and that’s okay. But I think when you look at the state of this Hornets rebuild at least they’re starting to draft pieces around LaMelo to force him to be like okay I’mma I’mma kick it to K nipple and I know he can bang down this three ball or okay I’m getting this to Brandon Miller. I know he can create a shot for himself, whether it be a two or a three or whatever it is. I know I don’t have to worry as much about I’ve got to literally create everything from ground zero. So, I think if you can maximize LaMelo’s aggressiveness, but in a meaningful way, that this rebuild has legitimate light in it. And another thing we got to look at is the name I’ve just talked about, which is Brandon Miller. And when you look at Brandon Miller in terms of the sophomore to rookie year, obviously there have been leaps on almost every statistical category, but there have also been some noticeable decreases. But again, the sample size was tiny to say the least in this sophomore year. I think he’s showing bare minimum some of the stuff that I know the Hornets drafted him for. Shot creation. He’s been able now to pretty readily be able to create something for himself. I still think he’s obviously a good defender. He’s increased his assist number, so he’s showing, you know, some form of IQ developing. And I think even the three ball, I don’t think he should be shooting 11 a game. But bring it down to like eight, maybe nine or seven, like bring it down sort of that rookie year numbers, that’s an elite shooter, right? 37 38% on seven a game. That’s deadly. You got to you got to respect that. And I think especially at the three for this team and the way that they’re playing, you can sort of have that wing guard combo that I think really, you know, dominate in the league if everything works out right. Is Brandon Miller looking perfect? No. And that’s why this rebuild isn’t perfect, right? Like there are times too, right? Like again, like you just look at the numbers, the jump in the three ball, the the very big dip in field goal percentage. I I think in general though seeing Brandon Miller’s usage go up and at least seeing that everything else is relatively increasing with it is a good sign. It’s showing that the responsibility isn’t too much for him to be the second option on this team or at times, you know, if LaMelo’s shot isn’t falling, he can kind of be like, I can kind of step up and be the guy for now. And that’s where I do like what this Hornets team has done is that they recognize where LaMelo’s deficiencies are and they’ve started to draft at their best to try and remedy that. Now, obviously, you have picks like Saloon who have not worked out. But not every rebuild, even the great ones have been just complete, you know, bullse eyes of, oh my god, they everyone they’ve drafted is just perfect. No. So, I think Brandon Miller is a it’s a very positive sign for this rebuild. Now, again, is this team going to compete anytime soon? No. They’re probably another two to three years out. But, I like what this Hornets team is doing because again, Miller’s development as a scorer, as a self-creator, and still his upside as a defender. If he gives you 20ome again, and you know, he’s bringing up his field goal and his three-point percentage. I mean, that’s that’s what you want when you draft a guy second overall. That’s the kind of stuff you want. And I think that is going to reflect eventually for this Hornets team. And to talk about this Hornets team even more, I do want to talk about the surrounding pieces that this team has drafted and how I think the draft that the Hornets have been having lately and the and the pickups in free agency are actually showing a legitimate sign of great, you know, organizational running from the Hornets. Just look at the free agency pickups and the draft picks from this Hornet team. You picked up Ryan Calprener after you traded away Mark Williams. Okay, that makes sense. You got someone to fill in. You still have Musa Diabate, who I actually really like. Um I’m not saying he’s perfect, but like he’s a fun center, a hardworking guy, right? High effort. You got you bring in a guard like Colin Ston, right? You bring in that vet. You bring back Mason Plumbley. You’ve got you’ve drafted Kong Canipple, Scion James, McNeely, right? All of these guys who can spread the floor, who can do all of these different things and I think can really help raise this team to a higher level just because again, you have recognized LaMelo Ball is going to want spacing. That’s just the way that they’re going to want to play. That’s the way he plays. And now you are drafting guys that can space the floor, who can then play defense on the other end because LaMelo quite frankly doesn’t do that often. He he he dives a bit too much for the passes, right? He tries to go all in on the passing lanes and quite frankly he shouldn’t be. But I think ultimately this team is showing signs of competency in terms of a direction and a and a build that I can’t get mad at this rebuild because again some rebuilds we’ve seen over the years have been directionless. They just been drafting to draft. It’s just like, okay, highest talent available, best available. Who cares if they’re all going to play the same position and they all play the same. we’re just gonna take them and it’ll figure itself out. And sometimes, you know, in throughout NBA history, it probably has, but for the most part, it hasn’t. So now you’re starting to build around a player and even if that player isn’t that great, you then get great pieces to have whenever you do find that franchise guy to build around them and to really expedite your process. And then we’re going to get into what I think about this Hornets rebuild in general. Ultimately, I think this Hornets rebuild is actually really strong. I’m gonna give them a B. I am loving what they’re doing as a overall organization right now. I love the draft of again K Brener, Scion James, Kanipple, Liam McNeely. Like those three or four names alone, I think are the right idea. Now again, you still have guys like Saloon, right? So that’s a fair thing. But I love Colin Ston to be that, you know, veteran guard off the bench. To have some of these vets and you still have guys like Miles Bridges, you got obviously your franchise guy in LaMelo, Brandon Miller. I think that this Hornets team is showing legitimate signs of like we have a direction and we are moving forward in that direction. Now, I’m not too sure how I feel about their, you know, their head coach here and Charles Lee. I think either way, this team is still showing signs of like legitimate direction and a lot of rebuilds don’t. They’re misguided in their direction. The Hornets still know they’re not going to compete soon. The Hornets still know for now that LaMelo is the guy and Brandon Miller they are hoping is the number two and now they’re starting to assemble pieces around those two to then try and make runs to then be willing to maybe trade some of these guys for other assets to again better themselves. But again, they they still I think at times with the coaching throughout the years and how that’s hampered the system and again the injuries have been a huge downer for them. But ultimately, I think that this rebuild is showing signs of legitimate growth and promise. Let me know what you guys think about this Hornets rebuild. Do you think that it’s pointless and it’s senseless and it’s going nowhere? Are you more like me where you’re like, “Hold on.” If you just take a second and look over this roster on paper, you’re like, “Hold on. In two to three years, this team could be pretty legit. You could have the LaMelo, Conan Nipple, Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, Cal Brener five, and then you still got guys like um you know, Diabate coming off the bench. You got Plumbley there just in case. Colin Ston’s going to help you off the bench. You got guys like Grant Williams. like you’re really building a solid foundation for your future. So, let me know what you guys think about this Hornets rebuild. As always, this was Mr. Nose Hoops. Don’t forget to leave a like, comment, subscribe, and have a beautiful rest of your day, guys. This was Mr. Knows Hoops. Peace out.

The Charlotte Hornets Rebuild is one that has been ongoing for a long time, but after a truly strong draft class and seeing some good free agency signings for the short term future, its time for us to talk about the Hornets and this rebuild. I genuinely think this team is doing the rebuild the right way, and while they may not be ready to compete in the immediate future, we must talk about why this rebuild is being done right. #charlottehornets #lameloball #kevindurant #basketball #nba #lebronjames #stephencurry

  1. I've got major concerns with defense when we have a starting lineup of melo, miller, knueppel, bridges, and plumlee.. I don't see where the rim defense or point of attack defense comes from. I can see us winning a handful of games by shooting teams out of the building because we really do have talented shooters on the floor… but I don't think in the league today we have a very competitive roster yet. Melo's brand is built around his questionable playmaking and showmanship so I've also got concerns that he's able to adjust and become a smarter player and playmaker. A lot of the highlights melo makes right now wouldn't be possible without some degree of recklessness and operation outside of the system. I don't see the vision yet but its been so long, I really want to
