I think McGreevy’s got some smarts and has a real competitor’s attitude, but I fear he’s only got 2 WAR type stuff.
I mean the walk % is elite no doubt. but everything else? He profiles like a traditional Cards “pitch to contact” guy. Mikolas had a similar profile – look at his [2024](https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/miles-mikolas-571945). However, not sure that approach works now. Be interesting to see what Bloom does with the talent profile in the organization, but I bet we index more on “stuff” going forward.
They need to revamp the entire developmental process. They stall out after AA.
Unless he learns to strike out people or the Cardinals completely revamp the defense in the offseason to get rid of all the bad defensive players, he’s not going to get better.
