of scenery here today to to practice out here. What was it like to to to be out here? It was fun. It was um three good days. I mean um I thought it was good for uh team building was good for the players to be together and no I I really think it sets the tone for our season and today was cool to come here and and practice and see the the kids here and I think it the players love that. You mentioned the team bonding. How do those relationships translate to a good performance on the ice for the team ahead of the season? I think they go they go together. I mean, between you and I, I mean, it’s it’s um good teams have good people and and and and I think when you have that, you know that you’re in good shape. I mean it’s it’s if you want to win you got to be a great teammate and I think that’s what we have and and situ event like this I think helps that as well you know they get to know more each other more and and I think they they I think players love that because it’s it’s um it’s nice to sometimes you think you know someone but having those moment you know even more so I mean I think it’s it’s a good thing. Obviously, your rosters aren’t finalized yet, but to have guys like Richie and Jordan this trip, how important do you think it is for them to have like Yeah, it is. It is. I mean, are you kidding me? I mean, be around the the the guys who’ve been here for a long time or even uh less, but I mean, I think it’s it’s it’s good bonding and it’s good for them to to be with the with the club, have a bit of a taste of what it is. I think that’s great. Drew Drew’s all good. I saw he stayed. Jonathan’s druin’s all good. Yeah. Yeah. Felt better and uh looks good to go. Had any communication with Ed Westfall over the years? Who? Ed Westfall. I’m No, I haven’t. I I see I saw him at the uh UBS obviously, but um yeah, I mean I I remember him as when I was very young, but he was a great Islanders and um he was a captain of the team for a long time. Um I think he passed it on to Clark Gillies, but I mean um just for I think for the Islander, I’m not I’m going to be cautious in what I’m saying, but I think he’s the Jeivu of the this franchise. I mean, you know, he’s a gentleman and he’s a person that people have so much respect for and I think it’s um yeah, great islander. The uh rosters are due tomorrow. The rosters are due tomorrow. In your in your mind, are there still questions or or do you pretty much know, you know, what you would recommend to Matthew? I think we we have a pretty good idea what we’re going to do, but we’re certainly going to meet today, you know, take a a last look at it, and I’m sure tomorrow we’ll get back to you with uh the roster you most about Anders Lee’s leadership of this team. Excuse me. What’s the question? Anders Lee, his leadership for this team, how effective is it? I have I don’t know if I have much more to add. I mean, I’ve been talking about Anders, how good he is for this room, how good he is as a vet. I mean, the way he takes care of himself on and off the ice. I mean the way he plays um so yeah he’s a great leader for
