Justin Jefferson ‘had words’ with Jordan Addison over missed walkthrough
Justin, congrats on the win. Thank you. This was your 36th career game with over 100 receiving yards. You’re now just two behind Randy Moss for the most first six seasons. How does it feel to hear that? And also, how special is it to get another win at? Yeah. Um, it’s definitely special. you know, that’s definitely a person that uh you know, growing up I I watched tremendous film on, uh dissected his game and uh was a big fan of him. So, uh just to be in that same conversation and uh you know, just all the hard work that I’ve been doing and all the sacrifices and uh it it definitely pays off. But, uh you know, as long as we get the win, uh that’s the main the main thing. I can you know, not have a hundred yard game uh for the rest of my career. As long as we get the win and uh we’ll continue to move forward to the main goal, which is a Super Bowl, uh that’s all that really matters. Say it one more time. How important do you feel like this specific Oh, very important. You know, um you know, we always we always think, you know, one and0 for the week. uh you know but uh you know having being in Europe for for two weeks pretty much uh and and losing last week in Ireland a dub was a must you know we couldn’t go uh home on that plane 0 and2 uh so just the relentlessness and just the fight uh that we continue to do uh throughout the season uh but today for us to you know with that adversity being here for 10 days and uh a lot of you know complaints that could happen and uh a lot of point fingers and a lot of blaming uh other things, but uh I felt like this team uh didn’t flinch at all. You know, of course the adversity throughout the the game and uh of course the bad plays, the good plays, but uh we continue to fight and we continue to, you know, move forward and uh definitely a big shout out to the O line uh just with their adversity and uh their difficulty having to switch positions and u moving everybody around, new people being in the game. Uh, so it it that definitely helped tremendously. Justin Jordan obviously missed the start of the season, comes back in, gets a gamewinning touchdown today. How great has it been to have sort of your your counterpart with you on the field? Oh, wonderful. You know, I don’t get those double teams as much as much as normal. But, uh, I mean, he’s a tremendous player. He’s a a great great player. And uh for him to be out there uh we just need him out there as much as possible you know and in the mix as much as possible. Uh even you know just the the attention that he brings. Uh but just his route running and his ability to get in and out of the breaks uh of course his catch point uh and being able just to make plays and being baller uh that’s definitely you know what I love to see and being a leader of the group being uh the the main person everybody looks at in that group. Uh I’m just proud to say that, you know, he’s one of us and uh you know, we we will, you know, be getting a whole bunch of different coverages and a whole bunch of different uh you know, defenses going forward. Uh but our confidence and the way we move and the way we run routes, we feel confident that we’re going to get open every time. Yeah, you know, it’s a it’s a difficult situation. Um, I definitely have my words with JA. Uh, but, uh, it’s just just all about, you know, growing up and just, you know, being being a part of the team and, uh, knowing, uh, you know, the states and knowing that he’s a valuable part of this team. Uh so it’s you know more more you know about the team and more about uh just us as a whole not you know focusing individually on J but uh for him to come out uh with that going on and still being able to make plays out there and finish finishing the game with the touchdown to to get us up uh it was like it was meant to happen you know so uh he’s a great player he’s a tremendous talent uh you know I just got to do better into you know keeping him under my wing and making sure that he’s he has his head on straight. What did you learn as an offensive unit from last week that helped us get over the line today? Yeah. Um to be honest, we didn’t hurt ourselves as much as we did last week. Uh just the pre- snap penalties, uh just things that really shoot ourselves in the foot. Uh we kind of limited that today a little bit. even though we still had a couple bad plays, we had some penalties uh that that kind of we well we don’t like uh but it’s just all on you know watching the film learning and uh dissecting it and coming back you know after the buy better than ever but we feel confident in the players that we have on this team uh and the playmakers that we have on this team to you know go over this hump and and you know get to where we would like to be at. Yeah. Um, I don’t really, to be honest, I don’t really got to do too much. Uh, I mean, I’m always in the zone and I’m always ready, uh, to go out there and and give it my all. Uh, I mean, especially being in this stadium where there’s new fans, uh, people that never seen me play before. Uh, so I always want to give them a show and give them something to look forward to. Uh but it’s definitely great to you know come here in London and get a dub. Justin just on the bounce back mentality of this team. Obviously you suffered a tough loss in Ireland last week. Did you park it straight away given the intense schedule and say let’s move on here we have another game within a week within seven days the NFL rigorous schedule or did you look over some dissected a bit and say this is or did you just park it and let’s move on to uh yeah um a little mixture of all honestly uh I mean of course uh we want to go to Ireland or every every you know place that we play at we want to get a dub and that’s the main objective uh But just like I said a little while ago, uh just the the things that we did to hurt ourselves and shoot ourselves in the foot, um we limited that a little bit today. So, uh I mean just limiting that a little bit uh goes to show you that we can, you know, put points on the board and uh we’re relentless as well. So, uh as long as we have time on that clock and um you know, we have people out there to to to keep fighting, we’re going to keep balling. And uh I just really kudos to this whole entire team for keeping their head up, not really flinching on, you know, being down late in the fourth quarter. Uh we just continue to go, continue to drive one play at a time. Uh and of course getting the dub is the main objective. Justin got Yeah, he a soldier. He a soldier for sure. Uh but that’s that vet mentality. You know, we we didn’t really expect nothing less. uh if he’s able to go and he’s able to, you know, be out there, we knew he was gonna come back. Uh but we always have confidence, just like I always said, we always have confidence in anybody that step out there on that field. Uh and it’s our job, especially me as a receiver, uh to get open and and make make an open target for him. Uh but for sew to come back through that adversity, feeling the pain, you know, to and and he’s a, you know, older guy as well, so no offense sew, so don’t get mad at me. Uh he’s an older guy as well. So for him to you know get knocked up like that and still being able to want to go out there and still fighting u you know fighting through the pain uh he’s a he’s a tremendous player and I’m glad that he’s on this team. Justin after your play against the Eagles who could be six and0 when you played him in week seven. How you managing that test against their defense? Yeah I mean we faced a great defense today. you know, they’re the number one defense in the league. And uh we had so many injuries, so many different uh pieces that that were missing from the puzzle. Uh but we didn’t flinch at all. You know, we have confidence in the guys that we bring out there on that field uh to make everything shake. And uh that’s we will continue to do that. You know, of course, looking at the film, seeing the bad things that we done, trying to fix it up, trying to be clean all around. Uh but, you know, we always look forward to the challenge and uh of course being at home, being back at home with those fans. Uh, I mean, we’re ready. We’re ready for sure, but uh for this bye-week getting our body right mentally, physically, uh, and then being ready to come, uh, that next week to to, you know, put pain on Philly. Justin, can I ask you Kevin talked about team identity before? What do you think this team’s identity is? Shoot, we still looking forward. Uh but what I can say is uh there’s a lot of character traits about this team that are phenomenal and I’m very very happy to be a part of it. Uh and of course being in you know with everybody and in the mix uh the the characters that we have on this team is uh is is definitely great to be a part of. uh of of course being here for you know 10 days uh and just bonding with everyone and uh spending that extra time communicating and connecting with each other uh it definitely was a great trip even though it was very long and uh a little tiring but um it was just great to for everybody to come together uh through adversity through the difficulty of you know being in in Europe in a whole different environment uh atmosphere and uh you know to to come out with this dub today was very very A lot has been made about quarterback receiver chemistry. Over your six year career, you caught passes from eight different quarterbacks, some of whom you didn’t even know we’re going to be playing. How do you develop chemistry along these variable timelines of quarterbacks that you may never play? Yeah. Um I mean it’s tough. It’s very very hard especially just like you said uh if there’s a quarterback that you know is not really you know uh meant to play that game and you know he comes in and having to you know play for us uh is at that moment is all about getting open and being that open target for him. Uh and that’s kind of something that I always stress on myself and uh put on myself. Uh especially if they’re playing me manto man and you know they’re giving me an opportunity to win against one person. Uh my job is to go out there and and get open and uh make plays. you know, that’s that’s the main thing. It’s all about going out there and making plays. Um, being double, being triple, single coverage, it doesn’t matter. Uh, and it doesn’t matter who’s throwing that ball. Uh, you know, 18 is going to go out there and make a play. What’s that conversation look like when you go back on the sideline or the huddle with a quarterback, maybe there’s miscommunication on on what they’re looking for from you? Yeah, it’s just all about just having that communication and coming to the sideline. Hey, this is what we looking at. This is what it is. and uh and and going off of that, you know, it’s not really, you know, too difficult and I’m definitely not somebody that, you know, can’t come and talk to and I’ll even go over there and talk to them as well. So, uh just having that connection and being vocal, uh is the main point. Yes, it would. No, definitely not surprised. you know, being here for the third time. Uh, I mean, we kind of have a history of bringing a lot of Vikings fans over here. And, uh, I mean, I’m pretty sure they like it over here as well. Uh, but just to to see the energy, to see the skull chant all around the the the stadium. Uh, our fans are the best in the league and, uh, they always show support, always show us love, and, uh, always into the game, no matter, you know, what the score is. and uh no matter if we’re losing late in the game, uh they’re going to still, you know, cheer and and still root for us uh like it’s the first quarter with zero on the uh zero on the board. Uh so it’s it’s definitely great to, you know, hear those fans. Uh I I mean, I couldn’t even I couldn’t even think that it was a away game. I thought it was a home game for us. Do you feel any difference between game last week and game this week about the atmosphere, the fans? Oh yeah, for sure. We definitely brought a lot more uh Vikings fans, you know, to to London than uh to Ireland. Still was a great atmosphere. Still was uh very fun playing in Ireland, but uh something about London our fans are attracted to Justin over 100 yards against the best defense in the league right now. The Browns defensive backs are very competitive. Is there any game week that you go in without the ultimate confidence that you No, not at all. Um you know, especially, you know, watching the film and uh seeing the type of defense that they are. Uh we we knew that we were going to have those opportunities getting those one-on-one coverages and uh those one-on-one opportunities. So, uh just all about making the most of those opportunities. Uh I always love and feed off of those man-to-man coverages. Um I’ve been getting doubled a lot, you know, these past two, three years. So, uh, it’s always great to go against one person and, uh, being able to really be effective, uh, in the game. Justin, how does this playing surface compared to some of the ones you play on back home? Uh, yeah, it’s a it’s we call it a speed track. You know, it’s uh pretty much thinner uh than normal than what we’re used to. But, uh, I love it. It makes you run faster. It makes you look look like you got a little extra speed on you. Uh, but uh, I mean, it’s it’s it really doesn’t matter about the surface. Uh, it’s just all about your technique and your footwork and getting in and out of in in and out of your breaks. Um, I’ll never blame, you know, the the the turf or or the surface. Uh, say it one more time. I didn’t hear the full question. You guys saw Gabriel. Yeah. Uh I mean I feel like he played very very well. You know to to be you know in his first start and uh especially going against our defense is very difficult. Uh so for him to come in and and play a game like this uh in a different environment not at home. Uh so he he definitely played a great game and uh I’m looking forward to you know seeing what what he has uh coming up and uh how they use him. Thank you. I appreciate it.
Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was benched for the first quarter of Sunday’s game in London. Coach Kevin O’Connell said it was because he missed a walkthrough. Speaking with the media, Justin Jefferson said he had words with Addison about his responsibility to the team.

Was Addison hungover from last night or some?? Had to get him an iv during the first quarter or something. Like what happened.. it’s just a bad look JA. We all love you man. Bad and good we love you brother.
When JJ was drafted, he said he did not care much about money. Look at him now! Maybe next he can find a gold boat anchor He looks like a fool! This is why I have such little interest in football these days. It's a clown show.
FAMILY‼️‼️‼️
Looks like annoying guy from star wars jj binks
Re Addison: How many chances do you get?
SKOL!!! GREAT WORK TODAY FULL TEAM EFFORTS!!! GO VIKINGS
Not 1 pass to Theilen today!? Crazy
🤦our culture is ridiculously unprepared for reality 👎
Christians, pray for Jordan Addison to have a conversion experience like Paul did. This man has so much talent, but he has a dead soul that needs to be awakened.
Christian darrisaw is real stud wow less pressure from Myles Garrett
O'Connell just don't put too many weapons in the game.
JJ looking like a pimp from the Renaissance time
JJ, I don’t think it’s worth your reputation taking Addison under your wing. He’s a talented player, but, in the long run, his character and integrity is a deficit to this team.
wtf are you wearing???
You all did a good job never quit, I like it
For a fan base that has been through it all… with all due respect, fuck the Vikings communications dept for cutting off the locker room video
Most of us have been fans longer than you’ve had your job there….so y’all can eat shit
I'm over Addison's immaturity. You're supposed to be a professional, man. I'd trade him before the deadline if we're clearly out of the playoff race for a 2nd rounder. Avoiding having to pay him huge for his next contract offsets us drafting him in the 1st round. We'd likely improve our draft position, too. We're already loaded with draft picks, getting another 2nd and maybe some change could give us 7-8 picks in the top 100 picks. Gotta get younger and tougher.
GREAT GAME TODAY! SO HAPPY FOR YOU ALL GETTING THIS WIN!! LET’S GO VIKINGS! Love you Jjettas! 💜💛 #skol
This is Justin's team Addison ain't earned the right to do anything like that
He looks like a freaking Beagle.
Jj swag is crazy 😂
Well said JJ!!! Keep up the SUPERB GAME,and we look forward to yall getting that Super Bowl!!🎉🎉
He looks like a fool.
Justin, you are a co-worker. It is not your responsibility on talking to co-workers on how they need to act or what they need to do. Please stay in your own lane.
Justin Jefferson is dynamic
I wish people I respect would not dress like they are going to a Halloween party
Love his mentality! Justin will not only go down as one of the greatest players in NFL history but he'll go down as one of the greatest leaders to ever play the game assuming he continues to handle his career from here on out the way he has since he's started. All he needs to do is just keep doing what he's done. The character part is the most controllable part but often times the hardest part with some of these young men. I pray Justin keeps being himself :):):)
That interview was Tremendous.
I like that Addison is the bad little brother. I have 6 kids and they all are so responsible perfect little kids….then there's my firstborn. o😅
This was a nice interview. JJ always makes that any negative is followed by a positive and personal responsibility.❤️❤️
I don’t care what JJ wears. His style comes from his soul and brings him joy. If it makes him happy, let him be. It’s part of his celebration.
Bro ik you're just being humble but…if you not getting another 100 yard games for the rest of your career then we finna jump Mcarthy and Wentz 😂😂😅
What is if that on your head? Addison has some serious issues.
Darrisaw being out is why I haven’t given up McCarthy yet, I gotta see JJ being protected by darrisaw not that trash skule dude we got from KC
Wtf are you weairng?
If he is a leader on the team, whys is he dressed like a clown?
Is he channeling his inner Cam Newton
As soon as these KIDS remember, they dont need to show off to be appreciated, the better they will be. all this chains, fashion, and show… Just be genuine young man
