Rex Ryan SOUNDS OFF on the Philadelphia Eagles! + What did Drake Maye prove? | Get Up
Let’s get it all. Get up is presented by Freestyle Libre. Tanny back with us. Orlowski’s on assignment. The Crow is ready to go. So much to get to, so little time. Roll it. We begin with the defending champs. The unbeaten birds in a faceoff with the Broncos in Philly. We said in the morning, Teddy, it’s going to be the game of the day. And it was. Beginning of the second half, Eagles up 10-3. Saquon Barker. They can’t get the running game going, but they can find him out of the back field. Yeah, I don’t know where he was running the football, but in the passing game, Squan makes a huge difference here. It gets in the end zone for the Eagles. 47 yds. Eagles up 17-3. Ball game, right? They won’t below a two touchdown lead in the fourth quarter. And then Broncos have scored. They’ve made it 17-10. And then look at this play, Rex from Boone Knicks for Evan Ingram. Yeah, absolutely crazy here. The kids got so much poise and confidence. And then what is Shawn Payeyton gonna do? He’s gonna go for the two. What is Dwood? Crazy. Well, how do we describe this decision, big kahunas, baby? That’s Troy Franklin. Never a doubt. You’ll hear them say afterwards, they didn’t even consider kicking the extra point. Broncos up 1817, but a lot of game left. The Broncos have a third and two at the Eagle 29. Philly is going to make a stop. They’re going to get off the field with that worst a field goal and plenty of time. But then, come on, Teddy. That’s your favorite player, Zack B. my favorite linebacker in the league to watch. I mean, Zack Vaughn forearmmed to the back of the head. The players now, this is a penalty, folks. Broncos run a bunch more clock. They kick a field goal. They’re up 2117. 9 seconds left. Her Dallas Goddards looking for a flag on the play. Teddy, should there have been PI here? Let him play. Let him play. Yes, you could have called it, but still, it’s like the game’s on the line here, guys. You got to earn it. One last chance. Jaylen Herd’s dropping back. He’s going to heave it up. We got two jumpers in the back of the end zone. Dean Wood, look how close they get. Oh. Oh, look at that. It’s a game of inches, folks. They’re fighting each other for the ball. You got two jumpers. Usually there’s one red shallow tip that in front. They both want that Smith both there. In the end, it falls harmlessly away and the Eagles fall from the ranks of the unbeaten in a crazy Denver week. That could be the beginning of something special for Bo Nicks and company. The trend continued for the Eagles yesterday. They have been outgained in every game they’ve played this season. They’re just the second reigning Super Bowl champs to be outgainained in their first five games to start a season. The previous was the 87 Giants who finished 6-9. Here are the Eagles receivers and their quarterback on the performance yesterday. We shot ourselves in the foot a lot. Um left a couple plays out there. we wasn’t on the same page, but um I mean ultimately we we got to get on the same page. The inconsistency showed up again and you know we got to play four quarters, you know, and we can’t we we have to, you know, stop putting a lot of pressure on our defense cuz they’re they’re playing really good. But, you know, um but we just got to pull our pull our in. You know, certain things don’t get you until they get you. We got to go back and really learn from this. Take ownership um for the things that we can control. Okay, Wood, the question comes to my mind. Have the defending champs lost their identity, Grinnie. You can’t lose something you never had. You cannot lose something that you never had. The the Philadelphia Eagles never had identity this year. They can’t run the ball well. They can’t sustain blocks up front. Okay, we we’ve heard the constant chattering from the wide receivers about the passing game, lack of targets, the lack of what they’re doing. Quite honestly, they’re not doing anything well offensively. And listen, they’re right. They are they are letting down their defense. Their defense is playing winning football. They’re playing championship style of football, but there is no consistency whatsoever in any aspect of the Philadelphia Eagles offense. And in particular, and the sound was a little muffled, but you could hear Dvonte Smith saying, “We’re not on the same page on offense.” When you hear that, Rex, as a coach, what does it say to you? Uh, it’s coaching. That’s what that’s what it tells me. They have no confidence in the coaching and they shouldn’t. All right. This is a new offensive coordinator. Okay. Guy that’s probably never called plays or sure doesn’t appear to when I watch them because there’s no rhythm to the dang offense. All right. Here’s the thing that that drives you crazy. This team did have an identity last year. And you know when when it took over when they started saying instead of fly equals fly, I used to say run equals run. That was their identity. 50% of the time they ran the football. How about this in a second half? All right. By the way, when you’re when you’re ahead of in this game, 24 offensive plays, 23 drop back plays. 23 drop back passes against, by the way, a team that you need to run the ball against. The thing they do best is is rush the passer, all right? And and play tight coverage. What the hell are you doing? There’s no rhyme or reason. And so when they talk about we’re not on the same page. You know the page you’re not on like this guy has no clue and I’m going to tell you what happened. It reminded me of a couple of years ago when remember they imploded because they had no confidence on the other side of the ball in the defensive staff and they imploded. They they couldn’t beat anybody after uh they lost like nine 10 and one and then the entire got destroyed. This thing could happen again. But on the on the other side’s got to take over. He’s got to take over and say, “No, we are run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run football team first and our passing game the is good once we establish the run but right now they stand for nothing. It’s almost like the guy’s reading oh AJ you know uh Brown is upset. Uh Smith is upset. I’m going to get them the ball. We’re going to throw every snap. Hell with that. They’re going to run your your butt out of town. Saquin ran it for like one time in the second half. I think it was Saquon’s Saquon is the engine for the team, the running game. But what’s been what’s been covering all of this up is they’ve still been winning games in dramatic fashion. Block kicks a defensive play. Yeah, but that’s not sustainable, Teddy. It it’s not. And it showed because they almost had that same formula going. But I just think the huge play was the Zack Bond penalty. When the penalty comes and this is a third down here, people, you’re stopped forcing them to a field goal attempt. You’ll get the ball back. I mean, you have a timeout. And then this flag right here, the these are the mistakes they didn’t make in crunch time. They’ve been winning in the fourth quarter. So what this did was this. Now you have to win this game with Jaylen Herz throwing the football to win the football game and you played right into the Denver Broncos hands because they’ve got Nick Bonito who’s a star who had two and a half sacks. Cooper can rush the passer. Allen’s a superstar and you got great DBs back there. though they couldn’t get it done and that way the Denver Broncos put him right where they want him. If you were watching Sunday Countdown yesterday morning, Teddy did a breakdown and said exactly this. If the Eagles let Nick Bonito be the difference in this game, he will do it. And that’s how it turns out. Chefy, they’ve been flirting with this all along. And I know we’ve talked about how clutch they’ve been, but they easily could have lost to the Dallas Cowboys on opening day. They easily could have lost to the Chiefs in Kansas City the next week. They should have lost to the Rams the next week. They survived in Tampa and it finally caught up to them against Denver. And let me say this, I used to cover that Broncos team for 16 years. I’ve seen the Broncos in this spot. There have been over time 113 games in which the Broncos have been down on the road by 14 or more points. Look at their record in that spot. 1 and 112. The win came yesterday. They don’t win in that spot. That was entering yesterday. is the second time against the world champions in their house and it and it took a coach with guts. Hey, you know what I mean. I mean, absolutely did. But I How does the clock run? Does the clock run like when you run the football and stay in bounds? Well, it does run, right? Oh, okay. So, if you have a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter, you’re running the football. I mean, isn’t that how you do close games out? I I don’t understand. But this right here’s got 11 rushes all game long. 11. Let me put that up. Cindy, put up 822. Let’s just let’s just make everyone just underline this number. If you haven’t seen it, the Eagles had 11 rushes and 44 pass plays in this game. There were 11 rushing attempts. Their fewest in a game since 2009. Their 45 rushing yards, their fewest in a game since 2018. This is not the formula. It is not their identity. So to Dwood’s point, they have lost their identity if they indeed in at any point in this season ever had. Let me just take the the third down. I mean, they were they were two for 11 on third down, and they were mostly third and medium and to third and long. So, what what play does that eliminate? It eliminates the most successful play in the NFL, the tushbush. Didn’t see it last week because the Broncos did so well and keep them out of third and short and fourth and short situations. The Bills and the Patriots on Sunday night, a white out in Buffalo last night. Drake May and Josh Allen. What a game. Third quarter, Patriots down 106. What a return to Buffalo for Stefon Ding. Looks so great seeing Drake May escape the pocket out to his right. Stefon Ding a little payback on the night. Had a huge game. I see you, Stefon. And that puts them into first and goal. Very next play. Dwood Randre Stevenson had another fumble early, but they stayed with him. That’s right. Mike Braville had to come back to him. Gave him that confidence. He redeemed himself. Patriots take the lead. And then it is Allen. And he’s back. And he’s looking. And he’s picked by Marcus Jones undercutting the route. That’s not a giveaway. That’s a takeaway. Over-the-top safety help undercuts the incut. What does Marcus Jones have more to do? Special teams defense. This guy’s all over the place for us, Chef. Fourth quarter, second and 11. We mentioned Stefon Diggs. He had 10 catches for 146 yards. Look at the burst he still has there. And then it is going to be Stevenson Rex taking it in untouched. Untouched. Look at that blocking. I mean, give credit to Free for keeping that guy in there, but I could have made that run. Patriots up 20 to 10, but Buffalo coming back. First and goal. It’s Allen. It’s Keon Coleman. They’re within three. Allen’s second touchdown of the game. Five minutes to play after a Patriots punt. Third and six. Allen. Coleman. Fantastic catch. The field goal. Look at him go up and get this ball. Puts them in good range. They kick a field goal. Tie it at 20. So then comes the signature play of the young career of Drake May. Tied at 20. Two minutes to play. Teddy, how does he do this? These are the ones you say, “I don’t know. I mean, this isn’t coaching. This is anything. This is the player in a moment in the fourth quarter when we need it.” He’s getting dragged down by the throat, stays alive. Brex delivers it to Stefon Diggs. Gets a little yards after the catch. And this and this next one, I’ll take him from here, Green. This next one. Oh my gosh. Right in cover two over the corner in front of the safety. That throw right there. I think we got something. I think we got something going right here. Are you excited, Bruce? And then my kicker, rookie kicker. Go ahead. Put it through. 52 yds for the win. The Patriots knock off the Bills on the road. A statement win for Drake May and Mike Rael and Teddy Bruski and the entire Patriot nation. The Bills were 4-0. They had won or tied the turnover battle in 26 straight games. This is the difference last night. The Patriots put an end to that, snapping the streak, forcing three turnovers. And afterwards, Josh Allen not happy. [Music] Not going to win a football game turning the ball over three times in our red zone. Gave them one in their red zone. That’s just bad bad football. And uh we just did not play good tonight. We we shouldn’t have shouldn’t have even been in it with three turnovers. So that’s uh again that’s just that’s just piss poor offense. Okay. So he’s frustrated. Dean Wood, what do we say about the Bills on this morning after they what? No, no, no, Greeny. This isn’t about the Bills. This is about the Patriots. The Patriots said we’re we’re back. Yes. Yes. And everything, fellas, everything I wanted to see going into this year, it came to fruition last night. the defense made play to hold him to that field goal. Christian Gonzalez, the quarterback who’s healthy, made a couple big plays. Marcus Jones watching the left side of the offensive line and those two rookies and Wilson, all right, and Campbell play so well. And then Drake May, a lot of great things said about him, but until you show it, until you show it, all right, in a in a position like this against one of the best teams in the league in the fourth quarter, he does it here with these two throws. Rex, I mean, we we’ve talked about how we like this kid, but it’s like we’re in the situations come up. This throw here, Rex versus cover two. Drake May came to play. Okay, he came to play. He made these two plays. The Patriots are are adopting Mike Vrabel’s attitude, his culture. This was a season defining win for them last night. Look, I the most impressive thing wasn’t Drake May to me. It was Mike Mike Vrabel. this football team. Look at the difference he’s already had on this football team. I mean, it’s it’s night and day. Night and day. They they actually play defense now. All right. They got rookies all over the damn place. The whole left side of the line is rookies. You got to be killing them. Uh well, not so much. All right. I’m telling you the difference. It It’s him. It’s him. And And now you see I hate it. God dog, I hate it. I want to see the Patriots down. So, if they have the coach that you’re saying Yeah. Yeah. And they have the quarterback, you’re saying, and you have the head coach and quarterback together, and you go into Buffalo and you beat the best team in your division and the best team in the conference and keep the 1972 Miami Dolphins standing alone as an unbeaten team with no more unbeatens in the NFL. You make an announcement that you are there to make a playoff run to challenge the Buffalo Bills, not just now, but this season and for seasons to come. That’s what last night was. The Patriots, I don’t know if they’re fully back, but they’re going to be competitive and they’re going to be a team to be reckoned with. Yeah. And and here’s the thing. We know this is a rebuilding year for the Patriots without question. But this is what it looks like. That doesn’t mean you can’t win now. Mhm. And so many of these teams Well, we’re rebuilding the hell rebuilding. You got to you got to start getting some wins. And that’s what this guy he’s so impressive to me. Take a bow. Tim Hasselbeck, by the way, our colleague Tim Hasselbeck during the buildup to that draft when there were a lot of people saying what proved to have been ridiculous things about Drake May, Tim Hasselbeck stood on the table and said, “No, this kid is going to be great.” And so far, he looks 100% right. Very quickly, uh, Rex for the Bills. Bad game or bad sign? Oh, absolutely bad game. Not a bad game right here. Three Three turnovers. You’re right, Josh Allen. You’re not going to win games that way, but that it’s uncharacteristic uh of how they play. So, just a bad game. And I think what what the Bills now know, it’s just not going to be easy like it’s been in the past in terms of winning the East. I think that’s what chef, you’re talking about, what the Patriots did. It’s always been the Bills. It’s not anymore. They the Patriots will be competitive for this division. [Music]

The Baun late hit was BS, cause he was still moving and Zack was on the dive at the same time as the ball carrier. The not called Pass Interference was a huge BS, it was obvious. The worst one was the retracted intentional grounding, that was intentional grounding cause there's was no one there, even Romo said it.
But the media clowns liked to talk about the "what if" against the Eagles,bl but now since it was the Eagles that lost there are no "what if", like Goedert PI was called they win, like the Intentional grounding was a penalty that stayed we would have won or the late hit of Baun was not called we would have won.
Tbh; hearing two former Patriots players from those early 2000’s teams saying “We’re back” like that was terrifying as a millennial. I really hope they aren’t good again. We dealt with that once.
The whole world has been waiting for the Eagles to lose. All they have talked about is they aren’t passing enough, now they don’t run enough
Simply gorgeous and stunning…. 🎉❤🥰😍
This is like the equivalent Craig Burley constantly talking about the high line everytime Barcelona loses a game,
teddy is senile
they always been overrated
Rex Ryan low-key sick at the 12:20 mark seeing Tedy and Woody happy at New England's win over Buffalo.
Aye who don't wanna hear rex Ryan talk anymore say I
1:03 nick wright has influenced the industry
These announcers make me laugh.. I am not an eagles fan. I'm a 49ers fan, but you guys make it seem like eagles are sorry.. come on!!! You guys are are definitely tripping 🤣
Sirianni cant take iver cause his boy doing exactly what he would be doing
😂😂😂 AJ BROWN PLAYING Cornerback vs Devonta “If I can’t have it no one can”😂😂😂
bills are the best prime time game fix in the league. Usually they win don't cover. Last night they lost by 3 points, settting up next week's game against the Falcons who just won big. The bookies looove the Bills and Josh Allen.. Throwing into coverage with the game on the line. hahaha yeah, right
Rex Ryan analysis is predictable; if a team loses they're horrible, and if a team wins their great 🙄
Thanks for putting "Rex Ryan" in the title… saved me from watching. ✌️
4th quarter penalties and lack of running game lost them the game. Why is saquan not getting more touches? Everytime Philly move the chains it came back due to penalty smh
aj quits on a route a sure fire bombed is called back on a bs glad on barkley THEN dallas godard is held!!!! but people are talking sh$t?!!!!
an TEDDY U DIDN’T SAY THAT ON BRADBEERY FLAG TO GIFT WRAP K C A SUPER bowl!!! let them play what a joke
1:56 lmao let them play… games on the line you gotta earn it??? Sounds like the NFL handed them a script. 😂😂😂
Time for Jeff Lurie to spend the money and hire a qualified, experienced offensive contractor with a quality contract. We had one last year with a one year deal? That’s insane.
You can't kill off the entire 4th quarter clock running the ball if you can't get first downs. The Eagles running game has been a 3-and-out machine all season so far.
Lmao oh LAWD, last week the Eagles go up early, lean on the run in the second half and get sh!t on for not staying aggressive. This week they get a good lead and try to stay aggressive in the second half, and get sh!t on for not leaning on the run. Fact is, every team is selling out to stop the run! I swear these analysts are turning into cartoons. 🙄🙄🙄
The Eagles beat the Eagles , the Eagles gave that game away 😆.
So the Patriots are back after defeating the Bills…Really!
Ringo sucks, should have kept Big Play Slay Howie
The Eagles are 4-1 and they’re talking like they’re season’s over with. Guess who else loss? The Bills. Why no scrutiny for them? I already know the answer. Rhetorical question
love hearing rex riff on football
Can Stephon Diggs get some credit.
Bro if you are really about winning you got to get the ball to AJ Brown. When AJ gets the ball the eagles win it's that simple. Not half as effort getting him the ball but make it a priority. It is Jalen Hurts responsibility to integrate AJ Brown in to this offense. The offensive scheme isn't the issue. Jalen hurts it starts with him. When the defense loads the box to take away Barkley and AJ brown has man coverage you got to get him the football. If you really about whats best for the team than you got to get the football to AJ brown for no other reason because the team wins when he gets the ball regularly
