Was this the most embarrassing NFL loss ever? Cam Ward’s first NFL win literally could not have been any crazier. The Cardinals, led by another former number one pick, Kyler Murray, were up 21 to6 and seemingly cruising to their third win of the season against the winless Titans. But that’s when things started to get weird. Kyler takes a snap to the helmet and goes to the locker room. But he came back and the Cards were still in control to start the fourth. Now’s when things get really weird. Cardinals RB Amari De Marcado ran for what appeared to be a 76-yd touchdown, but he confidently dropped the ball before crossing the line and it bounced through the end zone for a touchdown. Unbelievable. Cam Ward leads the Titans down the field for a touchdown, but they miss the extra point. Still a two-possession game. They get the ball back, but Cam Ward throws an interception. That should be game, right? Well, no, because it was immediately fumbled by the Cardinals and recovered by the Titans again in the end zone. Insanity. But the Cardinals still should win. Arizona is still up two and just needs to run out the clock. But their RB room is banged up. Demarcado gets stuffed on third down and they have to punt. This time Ward wasn’t making any mistakes. The Titans quickly drove down the field and the kicker redeemed himself with a game-winning field goal. The Titans win probability was as low as 1.8. eight according to nextgen stats and betting odds had them as 55 to1 live underdogs. I think it’s safe to say Cam Ward’s first NFL win is one we’ll never forget and one that will give Cardinals fans nightmares until the end of time.

The 1.8% probably only considers pre-play and post-play scenarios, not mid-play, like a guy dropping the ball one inch from a TD or fumbling an interception for an opposing TD. Otherwise it’s surely like 0.001% all told.
