Joey Porter Jr., Alex Highsmith BACK, Jalen Ramsey, Calvin Austin updates | Steelers Rewind

What’s going on everybody? Welcome back to Steelers Rewind here on Penn Live. Nick Farbell here with you guys. Monday practice here. A rare Monday practice because usually the Steelers are off today after a game. But let’s talk about today. The Steelers back from their by week. Uh and a lot of a lot of good news from the injury front. Joey Porter Jr. says he is expected to play this week. That’s not much of a surprise. Um he is he was close in Ireland. Wanted to give it another week. no reason to have rushed him back. So, they didn’t rush him back. He will play this week. Alex Highmith is back. High ankle sprain forced him to miss the last two games, really two and a half, almost three games cuz he got hurt really early in that Seattle game. Um, but it sounds like he’s on track to probably come back. Only limited today. I I don’t think he’ll be a full participant, but uh he looks good out there. So, seems like he’s on the way back and I think the Steelers when he comes back really going to try and unleash this three outside linebacker package. probably play Nick Herbick more because Herbic’s just been dynamite. How can’t you play Nick Herbick more? Joey Porter Jr. and him probably on the Met. Um Jaylen Warren I think also will play this week. He looks good with his knee. He told me after the island game it was just a minor injury. They didn’t want to kind of aggravate it especially with the bye-week. So they were just conservative with the injury management there. So I think he’s fine. Nothing on Calvin Austin and Jaylen Ramsey. I didn’t even see Jaylen Ramsey today, guys. Um, so I I really don’t know kind of what happened uh kind of what is going on there. I know it’s a hamstring strain, of course. Um, but I’m not expecting him to play and I’m not expecting Calvin either. You know, he didn’t rule out anything. He didn’t rule out playing this way. He didn’t rule out IR. Who knows? He wasn’t saying anything. We don’t know what the injury is, but it is he’s not in a sling, but it is clearly something that I think is going to probably keep him out for a little bit. So, on the injury front, there’s that. The Steelers also um not really focused on the standings. They’re obviously sitting in a pretty good spot right now. The Ravens are 1-4. The Bengals are in disarray. The Browns are 1-4. Um but this is the start of divisional play and if they’re going to win the ABC North, like it looks like they honestly should right now, they need to actually win their games and take care of business. So, that’s going to be something that they have to focus on um as well. So, we’ll kind of see where that goes. Either way, injury updates today pretty promising for the Steelers outside of Ramsay and Austin if that was to be expected after their injuries against the Vikings. All right, make sure to like, comment, subscribe, turn notification bell for more, everybody. to watch.

  1. Who wouldn't be surprised if the Steelers lose to the Browns this week? We're due for a "Tomlin Special". Hopefully Aaron can control things and get us a victory.

  2. Good or bad, we can never take anything for granted. Ravens can go on a long winning streak, and we seem to find a way to go on stretches of poor play every year. One game at a time

  3. I know PFF can be very contraversial and biased for lack of a better word…Do they have a case rating JPJ so low or is this a occurence of them being slanted against the Steelers? Do you see JPJ taking a big step this year?
