He owns 30% of ALL the Mariners cards on EARTH…
So you have 2024 JP Crawford. I do have the complete rainbows for both of this. This hid in someone’s closet for 24 years only to be unearthed literally 3 months ago. My collection of 52,000 Mariners cards means to me that I’ve put together an incredibly large picture of each stage of this team of every year of every player. I’m James Stinger and I’m the biggest Seattle Mariners collector in the world. There may be people that have more griffy cards. and maybe people that have more Julio cards. Nobody can put together the width and breadth of the collection that I have. Nobody can tell this big of a story. I’m doing it as an observer. I grew up in a small town. There wasn’t a lot to come by. I immediately got interested in like the tobacco era cards, the Honest Wagner, the 1952 Mantle after Mickey Mantel passed away. Topps did a lot of commemorative stuff in his honor. I went after that stuff hard. fact that all of this was like a single line of just stuff that all went together or sometimes it was just just other, you know, insert sets I like, just things that caught my eye. All right, these are going to be some of your big names. Ken Griffy Jr., Ichiro Suzuki, for you current people, Julio Rodriguez. Got a little bit of everything. It was All Mariners all the time. It meant that there was something to put together rather than just a pile of cards in a box or, you know, a handful of shiny things in a binder. I don’t just collect Griffy or Ichiro or the biggest names. I also collect Joey Kora and Richie Saxon. Like when you’re going to a thrift store just trying to find some diamond in the rough. You’re searching for players that nobody thinks of anymore. As long as they’re in the uniform, that’s of interest to me. Doesn’t have to be necessarily rare or valuable. Now it means finding, you know, the newest shiniest cards or a new shiny card that I’ve been looking for for decades. I crossed something off my list that I’d looked for every day for almost 30 years. I estimate I have probably 30% of all the available Mariners cards. A lot of that’s one of a lot of that stuff you’re never going to track down. So, you’ve seen the 1% of the collection. Now, come on in here and see the other 99%. 125 binders, 1977 to the present. This is everything you don’t see on display. every base set, every insert, pretty much everything you could imagine lives here. And as of today, that’s 52,398 different mariner cards. There’ll be people that appreciate different pieces, and usually it’s because that piece had a connection to them. They may not make it up into a display. They might end up in a box somewhere just for me to enjoy, but the things that make me happiest are the things that are going to make other people happy as well. Right off the bat, I had a lot to learn, a lot to catch up on. When I first started focusing on mariners, they’re not that much older than I am. Our histories were pretty close. I started just collecting all the cards I could find. And that was that was fun to me. Being able to put together a puzzle. I’ve been buying on eBay since the late ‘9s. That was nothing new. But being able to find people to trade with and buy from was so much easier than it was in the early days of the internet. I jumped into all these different forums and websites and started meeting people that were into the hobby. And that just made it grow exponentially. And it was more fun because I could share it with people rather than just being a a solo exercise. All right, 2016 tops triple threads. This one is sheer perfection. Felix Hernandez, All Hail the King, and he is our king and always will be here from the early days of oneof ones. Gold label, Kazahiro Sasaki. Not easy to find a one from back then. I’m coming up on just shy of 5,000 different Griffy cards and it’s getting real hard to up that number at a reasonable price. 1994 finest refractor. And I love that they brought it back in finest flashbacks. New uh new take on this. Another pop of color. Let’s go with the power players refractor. Anything that’s exciting and really eye popping is something I want in this case. Griffy was the first of it for us. And especially so much of it was geared towards the younger generation that I think we just had a very different appreciation for for what he brought. But besides just bright colors, fun textures and materials like heavy lumber, this is just a nice looking set and really uh goes with the theme of swinging a bat, which is something he was pretty good at. I’m going to keep going to keep putting this picture together to keep telling this story of this team. There’s always each year going to be a new set of cars that tells what has just happened. As long as the team is here, there is going to be more to add to this puzzle that I’ve put together, to this giant picture and story. Storytelling is what I like to do. And the more of this I have, the better that story is going to be. [Music]

What is one team you would collect EVERY card of?
That’s absolutely nuts
Love collections like this. Passion is there.

wow they need a ring
This is so awesome
Thanks for watching everyone and for the great comments! I can be reached primarily via IG on this same handle, and eventually here as I start posting my own videos of the collection.
My collection is getting there 🙌
What a great guy and what an incredible collection. I just came back to collecting NHL, but prices are outrages at times. Collecting one Player is already hard but a whole Team? Wow.
Bro i got some Jay Buhner's for you lol
Love it! This guy has a museum.
LOVE this! My favorite team is the Red Sox, and while I have a few player collections (Rice, Evans, Wakefield), 125 years of history is too daunting to ever consider jumping into a project like this. Show me some Ruppert Jones and Leroy Stantons!!
Man I want to be his friend I love his dedication for the Seattle Mariners and how passionate he is as a collector.
I own the other 70%
When the title says "30% of ALL the Mariners cards on EARTH" does that me he has like millions of duplicates of all the common cards?
well damn, this is the guy who’s got the JP stadium club rainbow
This dude is so happy. Good for him.
There are many people like him out there. Some just don't care to publicize their collection. Just look at the percentage of uses on Collectr app that doesn't disclose their portfolio alone. And then you have all the old school cats that don't even know about the app. Thousands of amazingly unique collections out there that are worth fortunes, I guarantee it.
As a Mariners fan, I like the cut of this guy's jib… Looks like an amazing collection!
I would at first be hesitant if this guy asked me to check out his dumper collection, but with the context that he is a mariners card collector I would probably love to.
Go M’s!
let's get a full interview on this guy. like do you collude with the team? do they treat you with perks? I'm curious about the worth of all those cards and how you go about acquiring them. i was born in 85 and grew up a hardcore Ms fan… getting back into the fandom as they are playing in the playoffs. got to go take a dump now. thanks for the passion brother.
This guy can’t be married
