So Canucks fans, how do we feel about the projected lines from PuckPedia? How do you feel about the roster in general that made it?

  3. Cautiously optimistic, as always *IF* we can stay relatively healthy we should have a good chance of making playoffs. Our D core and goaltending tandem is undoubtedly really strong but we lack a strong top 6, but if our 3rd line can help produce and provide depth scoring which it seems capable of then we are looking pretty good.

  5. Defence is so good, I think if chytil works out as a 2C and Petey locks in we are a strong group (I also assume bains is going to replaced soon)

  9. I heard Canucks army suggest Raty for Bains and I can’t unthink it. Please make it happen, that line has all the buzz but zero finishing

    Also I think Cootes-Lekkerimaki are inseparable, they are each others reasons they made it out of preseason on the roster because they have such good chemistry

  11. That second line is a cardio skate and not much else. Much as I love Garland, he needs someone to help push offensive. That’s _not_ Chytil or Bains.

    I’d much prefer Raty drawing in. Although, I still don’t like DeBrusk and Petey together. I know there’s zero shot they do this, but…

    Kane – Pettersson – Boeser
    DeBrusk – Chytil – Garland
    Raty – Cootes – Lekkerimaki
    O’Connor – Blueger – Sherwood

    Would be my preferred lineup. Let Sherwood double shift as needed if some of the kids struggle.

  12. So much negative energy on Bains on line 2. Yes, we could have a better option. However, I think we saw that Chytil can be a bit of a problem defensively and Bains is someone the coaches trust to help with defense on that line.

  14. I have no issues with Bains in the lineup, but Kane or O’Connor should be on the second line.

  15. I think apart from Pettersson, we have everybody on really good value. And with Petey, I think he will return to a form where that money makes sense, although I think we actually could have nailed him on a much cheaper contract if we’d just waited.

  20. Boeser and Debrusk on the same line is redundant. I hope it works out but seriously doubt it will.

  21. I don’t think you want Lekkerimaki there, put home with Cootes or Chytil. That is not a spot where he would get much chance to generate offence. He was really good with Cootes and Kane.

  22. If Chytil gets hurt and Cootes doesn’t work out, the center depth is Pettersson – Blueger – Ratu – Aman.

    Understand it was tough to make trades this offseason but that is absolutely crazy. Lottery level depth.

  24. Pretty weak forward group on paper ngl but maybe they’ll surprise us, who knows. D&G look solid

  25. I believe in Bains don’t get me wrong, but Bains over Raty is an interesting choice, unless Raty just sucks balls as a winger I don’t get why he isn’t there to take faceoffs for chytil.

    They’ll also swap lekki and Sherwood, but otherwise I like this and our depth is pretty good.

    Also they switched Dpetey and forbort, maybe indicates Dpetey has overtaken forbort as 5D? Maybe he gets moved later down the road to open a spot for Mancini?

  26. I can’t see that first line working. They need a different skillset included. Who’s gonna be the bang-in-corners-and-win-pucks guy on that line? They should have Bains or Kane on that first line to fill that role. DeBrusk with Chytil and Garland might be a good fit, also. So swap Bains and DeBrusk and I think you’ve got something.

    (Not saying Bains should be getting first-line minutes – maybe Kane takes some reps there as well)
