There’s a disconnect in this article between having to replace Cease *and* King and getting Musgrove back. The writer even brings it up and brushes past it.
Concern 1) We gave the Dodgers enough confidence to overcome any and all choketober genes they had in them and go on a dynasty run
I am willing to bet that next year will have a lower fan turnout. So many trips to the post season only to be disappointed does not make for a booming fan base.
Padres need to figure this out right now.
Food for thought on the positive side:
* Outfield and Bullpen collectively as good as any in MLB.
* For the first time in a long time, Catcher is set as a strength. Manny, Xander, and Crone give you above-average pieces around the infield.
* Fully confident that AJ and ownership will add Starting Pitching and address 1B and DH.
