Victor Wembanyama Can’t Stop Growing

Spurs think we’re all stupid, but we can see how Wimi has grown and the latest picks are shocking. But the Spurs finally gave up and they’re like, “Okay, he got taller.” As a rookie, the official height was 7’4. Then year two, for some reason, SA downgraded him to 73. This year, back to 7’4 officially. But why are they playing games when it’s obvious? For example, a reporter posted this pic of herself next to Wimi at media day year 1. Standing straight up, her head goes to the bottom of Wimby’s shoulder muscle. Year two, about the same, but he definitely got taller. Year three, my goodness, this girl’s head reaches like his elbow, middle of the upper arm at least. And in an analysis earlier this summer, we showed thanks to a blog called Pounding the Rock that ran the numbers and based on the listed heights of Tim Duncan, Dave Robinson, and Stefan Castle, Wimy is most likely 7 foot7. What? So why are the Spurs lying? Because in NBA history, there have been just seven players 73 or taller with notable careers. And out of those seven, five of them missed an entire year with injury or had to retire early. So if the Spurs announced 77, the media would freak. Any little injury would be the end of his career online. So to avoid the constant chatter, they protect Wimi with his joke official hype. But it turns out we just got news that could protect Wimi better than the Spurs ever could. But I live in Texas and with basketball, we’re always like, “Oh, it’s a zero income tax. State players love it.” Yeah, it’s not property tax-free. That is how they make it up. And I am telling you, it is always higher than I expect. It’s like the state just makes up what they think my house is worth and they hope I don’t file something. Well, guess what I did? Because Own Well is today’s sponsor. But I do understand why the Spurs are so paranoid. Wimby has like goat potential making plays that don’t even look human at times. But that blood clut issue last year was a mystery. Came out of nowhere. Super rare for a 21-year-old. But the more we hear, the scarier it sounds. potentially lifethreatening. So Wendy let it slip at media day that he spent so much time in hospitals and around doctors hearing bad news, whatever that means. But you know how he did crazy stuff this summer like went to China, practiced kung fu with monks at a monastery, goes to NASA. Well, Wimby says his summer was wild because the traumatic experience is very much linked to all the stuff I’ve done this summer. There’s also a big feeling that life isn’t forever. What? I wouldn’t be surprised that if the blood clut issue pops back up, that is the end of Wimby’s career. Like Chris Bosch still wanted to play but had to retire at 32 years old. The good news though is doctors completely cleared Wimi 100%. But what about injuries? Remember this is a dude who missed a game for stepping on a ball boy’s foot one time. But what if Wimby even at 76 or whatever could make a Giannis type transformation? Like tall as heck but proportionate with enough muscle to prevent injury. Well, people at media day were most shocked at Wimy’s weight. One respected local reporter said he guessed dude gained 20 lb, probably more like 15, but you can see it in his face. Look at the difference between media day 2 years ago to now. Wimby is noticeably thicker. and the last place you see it is in someone’s face. So, this is a big deal. Well, Giannis also came into the league looking like a twig. But his transformation came in year three. It was this photo taken by ESPN that set the internet on fire. Look at how young Giannis still looked in the face back then, but his body completely changed. Then, one of the healthiest superstars throughout his 20s. So, how did he do it? Well, Wimi says even in the world of pro sports, nobody trained like him cuz adding muscle to Wimy’s frame is tough. Most guys 7’4 or taller struggle to put weight on. That’s why players like Bull Bull look thin no matter what. But Wimi looks different now. He’s filling out just like Giannis. And that kind of physical foundation is the best protection against freak injuries. So if Wimby can follow even part of that same path, it’s terrifying for the rest of the league. But just as impressive was something he said. Listen to Wimy talk about the Spurs approach to defense this year. This is a a non-negotiable. It’s not something you you can’t do if you want to be a part of of our team. We’re going to hold each other accountable. Doesn’t matter your, you know, your status. It’s defense is non-negotiable. Dude, for a 22year-old to talk like that and about defense, this is Greg Papovich’s dream to have a freak like Wimby who calls defense a non-negotiable. This is like Tim Duncan all over again. Think of the teams that have to wait years before their young star gets that mature. The Spurs have it now. They got so lucky to win that number one pick. But at the same time, Victor feels like he was born to be a Spur. From David Robinson to Tim Duncan to all the role players with a few exceptions, mature pros who also just happen to be elite basketball players, Wimi is that. But if dude is so good, right, like year three Wimi unstoppable, why aren’t the Spurs considered a contender? Like the Nuggets or the Lakers who challenge OKC? It’s because there are five major questions still surrounding the Spurs. So, we get a little away from Wimi here, but these are all crucial if we’re actually going to get to see Vic in the playoffs for the first time. And question number one is Wimby’s chemistry with De’aran Fox after the big trade. We only got to see five games of these two together and early signs not elite. In fact, Fox was his worst pick and roll partner. small sample size, they should work things out, but it’s still a question. Number two is that knockdown shooter role. Although the Spurs might look decent on paper, but in games when you watch, they don’t have that that no doubt sniper like a Malik Beasley, Luke Canard, Isaiah Joel on OKC. Every contender needs that type of guy. San Antonio Davin. Now, it could be Harrison Barnes, Julian Champeni, but we don’t know. Question three is coaching. Greg Papovic is now fully gone. And Mitch Johnson admitted Pop was still in his ear last year telling him what to do. So Pop’s coaching tree has had amazing coaches like Quinn Snyder or recently Eime Udoka, Will Hardy, but Mitch Johnson, we do not know about this guy. They hope he’s as good as those other coaches and we’ll see. Now question four of five for the season is Wimby’s health. And we already touched on that, but last year he played just 46 games. Remember, dude has to hit the 65 game mark if he’s going to win that first defensive player of the year, which we all know is coming. But question number five is the biggest of all. Who is Wimy’s true number two? Every contender of all time basically knows who their number one and number two is, but the Spurs, they have to make a trade. Well, a Plugged In reporter says maybe not. Don Harris has covered the Spurs for 30 plus years. He now says, “I would tell Spurs fans that by the end of the season, Stfan Castle may be the second best player on this team ahead of De’aran Fox. He has been that good this summer.” And a clip came out of the Rookie of the Year doing the 500 drill where you make 500 shots without missing two in a row. And remember, shooting was his big weakness. But if it’s not Fox or Stefon Castle, then a trade is realistic. Remember, the Spurs have been stockpiling assets to make a big move. They got Fox for cheap, still have ammo. In fact, they have six of their own seven first round picks. Then, back-to-back Hawks years, the Celtics top one protected, the better of the Mads or Wolves in 2030, and the Kings in 2031. So, if a Lowry Markin becomes available, they can make a bid. And of course, Jana Santako. But whatever happens, Wimi is entering year three now, looking bigger and more dominant than ever. But speaking of Lori Markin, we are hearing a ton of trade buzz for this man already. The Utah Jazz are trying to tank, and Lori is entering his prime. Has never even been to the playoffs. So, if he does become available, who’s going to get him?

  1. I can feel myself getting excited just like I imagine how my dad would have been when Duncan came. I was 9-10 so I do not recall all of it. But seeing wemby do alien things night in and night out is fucking amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Wemby doesn't have goat potential he hasn't even taken his team to playoffs now is that a goat kinda player stop it with that hype bs that you know is not true looking at his carrer so far and his game

  3. How do you look at wembynjami and say he is filli g out like giannis wtf is wrong with your eyesite do you really belive this shit or is the whole video just making up hype for views

  4. Its diferent if your star is a shooting guard or point guard than a 7'5" center who is there to protect the rim being the last line of defense ofcourse defense in non nagotiable for him … with his hight he should have avrage 6 to 8 block per game but he doesn't

  5. Please get your facts straight 😭

Wemby missed a game for stepping on the ball boys because he had already twisted his ankle previously in another game and Spurs were being cautious with their rookie. He would’ve played if it wasn’t a regular season game.

  6. using photo to calculate height is pretty innacurate; a few centimeter closer to the camera and you appear taller. The photos with the girl journalist is a good example, she is never totaly at the same angle, at the place compared to wemby etc. Too many thing can bias (not sure that's correct?) your eyes.
