The Latest Phoenix Suns News & MORE! Suns Geek Live Show

Heat up here. down. And we are live. And for the first time during the 202526 NBA preseason and season, we are live. We are doing a Sunseteek live show bringing you guys the latest Phoenix Suns news. Uh haven’t gone live in about over a month because let’s be real, besides some headlines here and there and some like fake trade rumors, there really hasn’t been too much going on. Uh, so, you know, I just decided to, hey, you know, I felt like I kind of deserved a break a little bit. I’ve been busy with real life. I’ve been busy with my job. And I figured, you know what? I’ve I’ve dedicated enough time to the this channel and live shows. I’m like, I might as well take like a month off before preseason starts and training camp and the regular season. So, that’s why I haven’t gone live in over a month. And this live show in particular is few days late. I meant to go live this weekend, but I got busy. I went to the Arizona Cardinals game. I’m going to talk about that later. Oh boy, that was that was awful. Can’t wait to talk about that. But anyways, all right, guys. Let’s dive right into it. Let’s talk about the latest Phoenix Suns news. Also, for everybody who’s tuning in live, Brian, I appreciate you. Uh Dylan, I hope I said your name right. Let me know if we’re looking and sounding good. In fact, we can actually do it on the screen right here. Uh where is it? Oh, I thought I had it. There’s something that said like mic check. But yeah, anyways, I don’t know. Let me know if we’re looking and sounding good. Where’d that go? Oh, here it is. What’s that? Thank you for Nope, that’s not it. Oh, well, whatever. But yeah, so we’re going to go ahead and get talking about the latest Phoenix Suns news before I distract myself by clicking all these little emojis. Look, I can like have like cactuses on my screen if I wanted to. I know my banner is interrupting that, but yeah. Anyways, all right, let’s focus here. Thank you, Brian. Appreciate it. All right, let’s do this, guys. The latest Phoenix Suns news after the Phoenix Suns started the 202526 preseason with a win over the Los Angeles Lakers, which if I can just touch on that real quick. This show is going to be all over the place, you guys. So, try to stay with me, okay? Let me just kind of give some final thoughts um about the Suns preseason game because I’m sure by now everything’s been said. I mean, the game was like a few days ago. I had made a reaction video. Go check that out on my channel. Um, guys, I don’t want to jinx anything, but I just feel like the the vibes and the excitement are back. Is it too early to say that after one preseason game? Because I know how many of you Suns fans out there are like, “We want the vibes back and blah blah blah.” And after how disappointing and negative last season was, I think I now understand you guys. But like for one preeason game, the vibes just felt so good. The energy just seems so real. It just seems so good. And as Brian just said in the chat, competitive. It was competitive. like these guys were actually like hustling out there and like I think Dylan Brooks like dove on the floor and like they were there I talked about it in my video they weren’t stagnant they kept moving around setting screens hustling like it was just incredible. So the game was actually competitive. We have a young new roster. And you’re gonna get tired of me saying this, but it is it is a brand new era in the Valley of the Sun. A brand new era of Phoenix Suns basketball is here. I don’t know how many games we’re going to win. It doesn’t matter, you guys. A new fresh, young, tall, athletic, competitive roster is here. And that’s what I’m excited for. And you guys, real quick before we’re kind of diving into the Sun’s news here, I was watching the Sun’s broadcast the other day, and I remember I took photos about this. Uh, these are all the new faces in Phoenix, not including like the coaching staff and like front office people, etc., etc. These are all the new faces in Phoenix from the draft. Kaman Malawatch, Rashier Fleming, and Kobe Brea. Through trade, Jaylen Green, Dylan Brooks, and Mark Williams. Free agency CJ Huntley and Nigel Hayes Davis. And that also doesn’t include like training camp guys who could make the roster, you know, stuff like that. So, a lot of new faces in Phoenix. And like I’ve said a million times, and I’m going to say it a million times more, a brand new era in Phoenix. I’m excited. All right, guys. So, finally, since we’re already 6 minutes in, let’s talk about what I consider to be Phoenix Suns news. And a lot of this I’m getting from like the Arizona Republic, but like Jaylen Green and and the Suns talked to the media, so I’m sure it went all throughout the the the sports outlets, the Suns outlets, etc. But Jaylen Green is super close to returning. And you guys are probably like, “Wait a minute, I didn’t even know Jaylen Green was out.” Some of you guys might have, but some of you guys may not have known. He did not play in that first preseason game. And I think I was just talking to a friend about this. I don’t know if I said it in my video or not, but I I’m okay with like Jaylen Green and Mark Williams, who I am going to talk about Mark Williams later. Uh I’m okay with them missing all of if not the whole preseason, especially Mark Williams. But let me just stay focused with with Jaylen Green for a minute. Jaylen Green has been out with a left uh hamstring strain. Now, to my knowledge, he has been practicing, and there’s actually a quote about that later. Uh but apparently, he’s super close to returning. Um quote, “It’s definitely progressing,” said Sun’s coach Jordan not on October 5th. So that was yesterday. quote, “It’s progressing in the right place. With soft tissue, you never know exactly where we’re at, but every day has been better. We’ll continue to reassess in China.” And I’m going to talk more about the China trip, uh, the Suns China trip a little bit later. Um, quote, “He’s been on a few heaters in camp.” Devin Booker said about Jaylen Green. He didn’t miss any Oh, sorry. I’m sorry. He didn’t miss many shots. anything for us surrounding him to make it easier to allow us both to be more efficient and being able to score at the same time uh to create for others. I’m sorry guys, I got to take a sip of my water. My voice is already scratchy, but that makes me uh feel good with what Devin Booker said about Jaylen Green. Shout out to my shout out to my guy Carter. I appreciate you watching. He says, “You sons geek, you China.” That’s funny. Anyways, thank you guys for tuning in. All right, but yeah, so Deon Booker one, one thing I love that he said about uh Jaylen Green here is he didn’t miss or he’s been on a few heaters in camp and he he didn’t miss many shots. So, that’s great to hear. That’s what I want to hear coming from our leader, our franchise player. But that’s also what I want to hear about our new I guess you could say second star player. I know everybody has their own definition, but to me Jaylen Green is a starish player, especially on this Sun’s roster. So that’s what I want to hear about a guy who can be a 20 point per game or more scorer. Uh so shout out to Jaylen Green. I hope that he comes back. Um hopefully he can play like one preseason game cuz every team’s different with how they go about, you know, like playing players during preseason, especially like veterans in this league and star players. I get it. You don’t want to risk anything for preseason, but you do have to have at least one warm-up game under your belt. Which is why like if Devin Booker, you know, drops another 20 and seven assists in his next game, I would be okay with keeping him out. That’s just my personal opinion, but maybe I’m wrong. I don’t know. So, yeah, Jaylen Green is looking like he’s going to come back. I mean, at least play him in one game. I want to I just want to see him in a Suns uniform, and even if it is preseason, I just want to see what he can do. Um, and I always have to humbly brag about this. Speaking of Jaylen Green, I did meet him at the airport. I was on my way home from summer league. I made a whole like YouTube short about this. I had to go to a new gate and everything and he happened to be near the same gate I was at. I was walking by and I was like, “Oh, that’s Jaylen Green.” Had a nice talk with him. Very nice guy. Got a photo. It was awesome. So, shout out to uh shout out to Jaylen Green. All right, let’s talk about that China trip, shall we? If you did not know, in case you missed it, uh Jaylen, no, Jaylen Green. Yeah, Jaylen Green’s going to China all by himself. No. Um the Phoenix Suns as a team with Jaylen Green are going to go to China. And I read this from the Arizona Republic. Shout out to Dwayne Rankin who does amazing work. quote, “Uh, the Suns leave for Phoenix, which I think they might have left today to my knowledge, or they leave tomorrow, or maybe like right now. They could be on the plane right now for all I know.” But anyways, the Suns leave for Phoenix for what they say will be a 17hour, 7,500 mile flight to China for a week long stay that ends with the two games in three days, which is October 10th. That’s a sun or sorry, wait, that’s a Friday. I’m looking at my calendar. Uh, so they have two games in three days. October 10th and October 12th verse the Brooklyn Nets. So, the Suns are embarking on a journey that’ll be a 17-hour 7 sorry 75,000 7,500 mile flight to China, week-l long stay, three games, uh, two games in three days and hopefully they have some time to like one kind of rest, two, you know, maybe tour, go on, you walk around, go to the Great Wall of China, all that all stuff, you know, stuff like that. They’re definitely going to bond as a team. You can’t you can’t go on a trip like this and not bond with somebody, you know. Um, quote, “The 7,5 7,500 mile flight to China and week-long stay is a sevenf figureure expense shared by the NBA and participating teams. The NBA pays for the chartered flight, ground transportation, hotels, meals, practice practice facility of the teams while the teams uh finance any additional travel, blah blah blah. The Suns will have representatives taking commercial flights to China on different days. So, I I assume that’s probably like their social media team, other members and staff of the team, etc., etc. Uh, so that’s pretty cool, you guys. It’s not every season that the Suns get to go to China. Um I think every year to my knowledge teams do go to China or like is it Abu Dhabi or places like that. Um and that’s one thing I will say I love about the NBA is just how much they have globally expanded. Um so yeah, it’s pretty awesome. Safe travels to the Phoenix Suns. Uh, I hope that they win both preseason games and I hope that they bond as a team, you know, because that way we can actually have h what’s the word I’m looking for? you know, chemistry on and off the court, especially off the court. You know, maybe these guys can be like friends and actually give a crap about each other and like have chemistry on the court and pre, you know, at least at least like each other a little bit, you know, unlike we saw last season cuz last season was such a disaster. Guys, you know me. And if you don’t know me, if you’re watching me for the very first time, first off, welcome to Sunse. Make sure to subscribe. But if you don’t know me, please do know that I am the most optimistic, positive Phoenix Suns fan there ever was. And I’ve said this a million times. Last season was the most negative and down that I’ve ever been as a Suns fan. So, I hope that those those times are long gone and that we can we can just start fresh. And I just realized there’s like a shirt behind me that I totally left here. Whoops. Well, here’s my laundry, guys. There you go. Just throw that back there. Anyways, you guys, welcome to SungeGeek, where you get random rants, you get random stuff on my chair, and and I lose my train of thought. Um, let’s see. Carter, I see your question. I’m definitely going to answer that. It’s about Come on, Ma Watch. I appreciate that. Thank you for tuning in. And thank you, Colin. Yeah, man. I’m like I’m like I I leave laundry everywhere. I’m getting distracted over here. Let’s see. Brian says, “Hope everyone’s off season was good in this chat.” Same here, man. I hope your off seasonason was great. Whether you’re a first-time viewer or a longtime viewer, I hope you had a good off season. I hate to say this, but I kind of hope that you forgot about the Phoenix Suns for a little bit. I don’t blame you because of how awful last season was, but I hope now that we have our roster, we have a new era of Suns basketball here. The preeason’s finally here. I hope that you’ll continue to tune in and and watch Suns games and and watch my channel and watch all the other great Suns content that there is out there. So, yeah. All right, let’s move on here, you guys, because we’re actually kind of cruising here. We uh I kind of covered those first two topics kind of fast, but that’s okay. Worst case scenario, this will be kind of a shorter show. I’ll try to get to as many questions and comments as I can, too. All right. Now, some of this news is a little late because I think this happened like a week ago. But in case you missed it, Ryan Dunn had his contract option picked up, so they’re exercising his contract. Now, I believe all this came from Suns.com. The Suns announced on Thursday, October 2nd, that they are exercising third-year option on Ryan Dunn, seeing him have a solid rookie season in 2024 25. Probably could have had a better season if we maybe had a different coaching staff. Just saying. Anyways, the Suns had until October 31st to pick up the 30-year option on Dunn, who is in the second year of a four-year deal for 12.9 million, which I’m not a salary cap expert at all, but 12.9 million is extremely cheap in the NBA. So, yeah, he’s getting paid. He is staying with us for a couple extra years. That’s pretty much what that means. Uh Ryan Dunn is due 2.7 million next season and the Suns have his club option in his fourth year which expires Halloween of 2026. So again, in short, Ryan Dunn will be here for at least a couple extra years. We have his option. We have his rights and all that. He’s getting paid more. He I I truly believe Ryan Dunn likes being here. He is not showing me or I haven’t heard anything that like tells me otherwise. You know, he is another kind of player that we are gonna need to kind of bring us that like toughness that, you know, he’s he’s the kind of guy that we’re going to need that will bring that fight, that dog mentality and also kind of the vibes. You know what I mean? So, I’m really excited for Ryan Dunn, you guys. And do not forget, cuz I’m not going to lie, even I kind of forget this. He won the Dan Marley Hustle Award last year. It didn’t seem like anybody deserved it last year cuz that’s how bad we were, but he won the Dan Marley Hustle Hustle Award. He averaged nearly seven points per game, 3.6 rebounds in 74 games. He probably would have played a little bit more, too. Again, if we have a different coaching staff, whatever. Shot 43% from the field and hit 31% of his threes. And I expect that number to go up. And I think if you ask Ryan Dunn himself, I’m sure he would tell you. I’ve been working on my three-point shot. Hopefully the percentage can go up. Hopefully more threes can be taken. He’ll maybe shoot him more confidently. Not saying that he didn’t, but you know, if he’s wide open, let him shoot. You know, if he if he has the ball, let it fly, you know. So, shout out to Ryan Dunn, man. 28th overall pick out of Virginia in the 2024 NBA draft. And I read this too. Um he was the third Suns rookie to post at least 83s made. He made 82 of them and a combined 80 plus steals. Um I’m sorry. And a combined 80 plus steals. He had 44 steals and 80 and 40 blocks is what I’m trying to say. So, he had a total of 80 stocks, 44 steels, and uh 40 blocks. So, shout out to Ryan Dunn. The only two other Suns players to ever do that, I did not know this until I read the article, but the only other two Suns to do that were Leandro Barbosa and Male Bridges. That’s kind of crazy that like Leandro Barbosa had 40 blocks. That’s pretty awesome. Speaking of Leandro Barbosa, by the way, one of my all-time favorite Phoenix Suns. Yeah, I know. He was on the run and gun sons of seven seconds or less. Yes. But one, he played for us for kind of a long time. They called him the Brazilian blur for a reason. The dude was super fast and he just seemed like a cool guy. Like, I loved him being on the team. He I I love I love Leandre Leandre Barbosa. And yes, I love Muel Bridges. I always will. Anyways, um let’s see here. Shout out to Suns Jen. Appreciate you watching. She says, “Blessings, Sunsge Geek. Blessings to you.” Thank you, Sunsgeeek. Looking forward to a new season. Me, too. Just a fresh new season, a new team. Brian says in the chat, “Been a Suns fan since 1989. Had season tickets for 25 years.” Okay. Uh, my guy Colin says, “I think it’s cool how low the expectations are in the national media. We are young and scrappy and going to surprise people. We will be better than expected.” I’m glad you said this, Colin. I was actually DMing with somebody today about this. And he actually responded to me. He’s like, “I actually think we’re going to have kind of highish expectations, like not too high.” And that’s kind of how like I’m kind of like on the ladder with our expectations. Like I don’t want us to be absolute garbage. I want us to actually be competitive, win a few games, maybe fight for a playin spot. Fingers crossed. Is that too much to ask? But again, guys, kind of like Colin says here, just people are going to overlook us. people the the the quote experts and all these like social media pages and probably other content creators and other podcasts, they’re probably going to put us pretty low. They’re going to look at our roster and be like, “Nope, that’s not good enough. They don’t have KD anymore. Nope, it’s over.” I don’t know, you guys. Maybe I’m biased. Maybe I’m delusional. Maybe I’m optimistic. Maybe we will surprise some people. I don’t know. But I just want us to win games and to be at the end of games even if we lose. Kind of like Brian Gregory, our GM, and others were saying at media day and like I’ve been saying on this channel for a while, like Matt Ishbia has been saying when he when he’s had press conferences, like when you play the Phoenix Suns this season, like you’re gonna feel it. Even if the Suns lose, like I hope that other team would say to the media, “Yeah, they fought their tails off, you know, like they worked hard, you know, like even if it’s like the best team in the league, like like I guess we can probably call the OKC Thunder the best team in the league cuz they did just win the championship.” I hope like we don’t get blown out by 40 or 50 by them. I hope like we’re in the game near the end of the game and like we scratched and clawed and fight, you know, fought, you know? I don’t know. Yeah, thank you for the great comment, Colin. Appreciate that. Okay, let’s see. Um, Sons Jen says, “I pulled up at Alvin Adams house trick-or-treating.” That’s awesome. By the way, you guys, if you ever get a chance to meet Alvin Adams, uh, very nice guy. Will always stop and take a picture with you. I don’t know what he’s been doing lately, but I know in the past he’s worked for the Suns and is around the arena a lot. So, yeah, shout out to my guy Red Arrow. I appreciate you being here. Yo, man, how how goes it? I am so stoked about this team in this season. Good. Uh, first off, everything’s going very well. Thank you for asking. Uh, but yeah, I’m glad you’re stoked because I know we we all were not stoked last year. That’s what I’m talking about, guys. Even like little comments like this, like, “I’m so stoked about this team in the season.” That’s what we need, you guys. Like, if you’re talking to your friends or family or co-workers about the Suns, try to be positive about it. Try to say like, “Hey, I’m excited about this season. Here’s why.” You know? So, yeah, guys, we got to spread that positivity. Let me take a sip of my water and we’ll continue on. Sorry. I hope I didn’t mess up my mic. All right. Uh, okay. Sorry, guys. Just moving some stuff around here. I might show you guys a couple things at the end of the stream, too. Okay. Yep. Brian says it again perfectly. New beginnings, Suns fans. Exactly. New beginnings, guys. Let’s forget about last season. It’s done. It’s over with. It was a nightmare. Let’s Let’s move on. Let’s wake up. All right. Um, can we talk about Mark Williams for a minute? Uh, because I guess this is kind of good news depending on how you look at it. Um, and we’re actually going to listen to, and I got to get used to saying this, new Suns head coach, Jordan not. We’re going to listen to him about what he said about Mark Williams because, you know, uh, I guess he is going to play. Not like I don’t think he’s going to play preseason, but he’s going to play. He wants to be ready for the start of the season is what I’m trying to say. But let me just pull this up real quick and we can actually listen to Suns head coach Jordan Knot. Shout out to Dwayne Rankin for this video about what uh Jordan Kn addressing Mark Williams. Now remember this is kind of a few days old but I do think it is kind of relevant if you will. Uh but yeah, let’s listen to Suns head coach Jordan not and what he had to say. Uh is the volume all the way up? Nope. Okay, here we go. One, two, three. Camp started a long time ago. You know, since July 1. He’s been in here more than anyone else uh developing his strength. I think he’s more than doubled his lower body strength in that time period. So, he does everything in practice that we asked except for the live five on five. At this point, it’s the same. We have a plan for him. We know his what his previous three years were. Um so, we have a plan for him going forward. Um I don’t think anything will change before the China trip. when we get home from the China trip, we’ll keep evaluating him. He’s still doing as much as he can. It’s just not the live 50 on five at this time. Just hearing you say that, does that is he going to play in the preseason yet? Yeah, I think that’s what we’re trying to do. Trying to assess exactly where he is. Um, you know, the goal is there at the end of end of camp to get him as ready as he can. So, he’s on a good path. Like I said, every drill work you see him, you’re going to see him in. So, it’s just not the live five and five. So, he hasn’t done the scrimmaging or anything like that. Yeah. No live as far as the drills, shooting every day. Okay. Okay. So, will he play? It’s all part of the plan. Okay. Will he play Friday? No, not Friday. Okay. Not Friday. Um, annually in camp, you know, you have situations where the guys have knicks, bruises. Have you been able to you had to sit All right. I mean, we we probably could continue listening to that, but that’s pretty much all I wanted to hear. Um, and then let me just go back to this real quick. Okay. And then like reading Dwayne Rankin’s tweet here um and kind of just like he said um let’s see ju just like Suns head coach Jordan not said you guys since July 1 he’s been in here more than anyone else developing the strength I think more than double his lower body strength in that time period blah blah blah. Uh we ask we we expect live five on five at this point. I have a plan for him. You know, they seem very optimistic about it. And I think Mark Williams even said himself, if I’m reading the quote right, like he Let’s see. Yeah. So, Williams said he isn’t sure when he’ll start playing five on five in practice, but the focus is certainly having him ready on October 22nd, which is when the Suns regular season starts. Quote, I’ll be playing opening night. I’ll be ready for that. And kind of like I said earlier, you guys, I am all for and okay with Mark Williams not playing preseason at all and him just being fresh and ready to go for October 22nd because there is still time, guys. Like it’s I’m recording this on October 6. like there’s still plenty of time as long as he is okay, as long as he is healthy, as long as he is ready to go. Um, competing in those five five on five drills, doing everything they ask him to do, getting his body right, and hopefully he can have a healthier season than he had last year. I think uh Nick Richards had said like the hope is for him to play like 70 games, you know, and Nick Richards would know. They were former teammates. So, I’m wishing Mark Williams the best, you know. Jordan not uh talked about it. I think our general manager talked about it in media day. Like, he’s only 23 years old, you guys. I think Jaylen Green is too. Like, he’s still a young guy in this league. And when he does play, he’s really damn good. like the numbers show it, the eye test shows it, he can be a lot of fun. So, I’m excited for Mark Williams and I think I’m okay with him, you know, not necessarily rushing back. I hope he does play over 70 games. Fingers crossed. You know what I mean? All right, guys. So, I have a few more things for you and then we’ll probably call it a show, at least for now. Hopefully, going forward. One, I’ll be doing more live shows. That’s the plan anyways. Two, uh, they’ll be much longer, but go ahead, if you can get your questions in the chat or comments in the chat. I’ll try to read them all. Um, if I don’t get to yours, I do apologize. But, so, let’s just talk about some random stuff that I’ve been seeing trending. First off, I know I’m way late to this. You guys probably saw it already. I think it’s hilarious. We got to talk about it. Again, I know I’m late on this, but um it was Dave McMenan. I hope I said his name right. He’s a NBA reporter for ESPN. Does great work. I think he also covers the Lakers and all that, but uh he was and I don’t I don’t even know if it was him who had asked it, but this was like his clip that went kind of viral. It might have been Dwayne Rankin of all people that asked him, but it says Devin Booker when asked on what his former teammate DeAndre Aton can bring to this year’s Lakers team. And well, in case you missed it, you guys, this is what Devin Booker said, and I thought it was hilarious. I don’t think I could have answered it any better myself. Remember the question was, what does Devin Booker think that DeAndre Aton can bring to a brand new Lakers team? And this is what Devin Booker said. I’m gonna let it play a few times. I mean, I guess we’ll just have to see, you know. Yeah. I mean, I guess we’ll just have to see, you know. Yeah. I mean, I guess we’ll just have to see, you know. Yeah. He handled that so much better than I ever could have, man. I love his response. Just I mean, we’ll just have I mean, I guess we’ll just have to see. I mean, he’s not wrong because if you actually watch that preseason game, go and watch it, you might see like one highlight here and there. I think DeAndre Aton had like a block shot or two, but I think he had one point and eight rebounds and he had like a couple missed layups. Yeah. So Devin Booker’s not wrong. I don’t think that was a shot at him or anything. And and apparently there was one like play where like I don’t know if Aiden missed a layup or something or like he took a shot and Devin Booker was on like he was miked up or something like that. The mic picked him up and you could hear Deon Booker saying hell no. Like come on. Like Devin Booker knows who he is. You know what I mean? So yeah. Again, I know I’m kind of late about that, but uh you know, and I know I sound crazy for saying this. I wish DeAndre Aton the best. You know, I do. I hope he has success in Los Angeles and all that, but come on. I I don’t know. Um let’s see. I’m glad that Red Arrow said this comment here because I did want to talk about this. Um, uh, here we go. I love that this coach, Jordan, is so honest and that the Suns and Mark himself are taking his health and conditioning seriously. Can I just kind of focus in on that first part? Well, I mean, I I completely agree with everything you just said. Again, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Take your time with Mark Williams. Bring him back when he’s ready. If he misses preseason, whatever. But I like how he says, “I love that this coach is so honest.” You guys, I was listening to the broadcast and I think it was Eddie Johnson and Tom Chambers who at separate times on the broadcast, they said it so perfectly, you guys. And and I remember even kind of taking a little bit of of notes on this like for Jordan Au, who you know, he has a I actually have his coaching resume right here. I had to taken a picture of it on the broadcast because I knew that he was like a longtime coach, but I was like I kind of forgot where he coached at. And where’s the picture? So, Jordan’s resume with the Atlanta Hawks. Yes, with Mike Benhoer for a little bit, 2013 to 2016. Brooklyn Nets with Steve Nash, who is now a senior adviser with our team. uh from 2016 to 2022. That’s a long time to be an assistant coach by the way with the Lakers for two years in 2022 24. And then last year with one of, if not the best team in the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers, coached right next to Johnny Bryant, who was second runner up in our coaching search. Uh has a ton of coaching experience, you guys. But what they were talking about on the broadcast, and I really see this and I can see it going forward and I respect this and I love it. They were talking about this on the broadcast that Jordan Au is the kind of coach who because like I think Tom Leander had like a sitdown interview with him. He’s the kind of coach that will one listen to his players. Mike Benhoer talking to you Mike Benhoer. He’ll listen to his players. He will take everything that you say and remember it and take it as seriously as he can. But not only that, he’s going to work with you on things. He’s a very handson coach. They showed like clips during training camp of him like running drills and that’s like usually there’s like assistant coaches for that and he’ll kind of just oversee it. No, like he’s actually like running certain drills with these players. He also knows how important it is that like Devin Booker is our franchise guy and that like Booker needs to be a part of big things and needs to be, you know, like ever like he’s our franchise guy. Like Jordan not knows that. Jordan Knot knows that he’s going to make mistakes. He knows that things may not go according to plan, but like that comment had said you guys like he is honest about things. He’s not going to sugarcoat things. he’s going to be real as a first year head coach, maybe even maybe even in his second year. And that’s why I think that this this coaching hire was so good because it’s a brand new coach. He’s very young, but he has a ton of experience, but he’s also not going to get like walked over either, kind of like Mike Benhoer did. And I hope that he’ll also kind of take accountability, but also be like, “Hey, you know, like we’re a young team and blah blah blah.” But like I truly do believe that this was a great hire. And I know I said that about the last two Suns hires, but that was a different roster. That was with a Hall of Fame player and Kevin Durant. That was just a different time. This is a new era, and I am hyped and excited for Jordan. And I’m excited for his coaching staff. We have uh former NBA player Jamari Carroll, Mike Mike Mscala is on our coaching team and probably like three other very important guys that I’m forgetting. I think one guy that on our coaching staff is like an Arizona native or something like that. So that’s kind of cool. All right. Um final thing and I think we’re going to wrap this show up here. Uh and then I’ll probably talk about the Cardinals, too, because I was at that game. Let’s see. In case you missed it, I think this actually came out today. Uh, oops, that’s not it. Here we go. Uh, this came from the Suns. I’m sure they posted this on like I know. I mean, they posted it on Twitter for sure because that’s where we’re going to right now, but pretty sure they showed it on Instagram, too. And let me zoom in real quick so you guys can see it. But the Phoenix Suns are giving two free tickets to their home opener. But of course, there’s a catch. Uh, two free tickets to the Sunso home home opener on October 22nd, 7 PM against Sacramento Kings. The promotion period is only from today, October 6th through the 19th, while supplies last. And, uh, I believe you have to spend $150 with a Coke product. Now, there’s a little bit more to it. Uh, let me see if this is what it is. Uh, okay. Dwayne Rankin had a tweet on it. I’m sorry, you guys. But that’s pretty much it, you guys. I think you spend $150 or something like that on Coke products. I could be wrong. Let me get clarification on that. And then you’ll get two free tickets to the Suns game. I don’t know if they’ll be any good, but you know, you’ll get free tickets. So, here’s what Dwayne Rankin posted. This is like the explanation. Um, let’s see. Okay, so it’s groceries. I don’t Why did it say Coca-Cola? Like, what? Fans who spend $150 or more on groceries at any fries food store statewide. Oh, including the purchase of at least one Coca-Cola product. Will be eligible to win tickets, blah blah blah. You have to upload your receipt. All the information is there. Why did I say Coca-Cola? You have to spend $150 on CocaCola or you don’t get these tickets. No, but that’s pretty much it, you guys. Uh, so I just wanted to share that with you. Can I talk about the Arizona Cardinals? I never really talk football in general on this channel cuz I mean, a lot of you guys know me by now, but if you don’t know me, um, I’ve just never really been that big of a football guy. Not not saying like I hate football, like I love the Cardinals. I support the Cardinals, yada yada yada. As of late, I’ve been trying to support more, you know, University of Arizona and ASU. Really, just all Arizona sports in general. I’m trying just to support them more. I’m trying to go to more games. I’m trying just to be a big Arizona sports fan, you know, especially now that I’m I’ve just moved back to the valley and all that. Um, but uh, you know, I just never really like I just never really followed football like I followed basketball. And even though I have been following a lot more this year and I’ve been I’ve been watching a lot more games, been watching other football games, other college football games, I’m still the definition of a casual when it comes to like the NFL and football in general. I’m not afraid to admit that. But even if you’re a casual like me when it comes to the Arizona Cardinals, you can still be very frustrated and very disappointed in the Cardinals like I was. I was at that game. It was great. The seats weren’t too terrible. The people I was sitting next to to were really cool. I was with one of my best friends. We had a great time. And uh we were up 21 to6. And then it all just kind of went downhill from there. And I know everything’s been said about it. I heard uh Arizona Sports going in on them today and rightfully so. They deserve it. You know, there was that whole running down the field. He had the ball. Looked like a easy touchdown and right before he passed the goal line, he just dropped it. He dropped it. And then it just seemed like everything after that went horrible. And again, you don’t you could be the biggest Cardinals fan ever. You could be kind of a casual like me. I say that as I have like a Cardinals pennant in the background and I own Cardinals hats. But, uh, you can be disappointed in that loss. I I from what I’ve gathered, that was one of, if not the worst losses in Cardinals history. And I’m sorry, Cardinals fans. I hope I didn’t jinx you guys, but I was there. It’s all my fault. But uh yeah, and not only that, you guys, let’s say that whole dropped touchdown didn’t happen or you know, not touchdown, I guess you you will, that’s now the third game in a row that they have lost off a field goal. So, not only that, not only did the other team come back, that’s now three losses in a row where they’ve came back and won it pretty much at the, let’s put it in basketball terms, they won the game at the buzzer. You know what I mean? That was awful. And I I knew kind of like halfway in I was like, “Oh god, let’s not let this happen.” And I kept like putting my hat down like this and I was just like, “Oh my god, this is not happening.” And then it happened. And guys, I was there in attendance. Cardinals fans booed. And and rightfully so. I didn’t think I would go on this long of a rant about the Arizona Cardinals, but you guys know me. I try to keep things positive. I want to end on a positive note. I saw this tweet the other day and I saved it just in case I needed it. And this is how I feel about the Phoenix Suns. If you ever I hope you guys don’t have to do this, but I if you ever have to question my fandom and love for the Phoenix Suns, this tweet that I’m about to read you is how I feel about the Phoenix Suns. Shout out to uh Bird Droppings. I don’t know why they call themselves that, but it’s a Cardinals page. I do follow them. But I love this tweet right here. It’s my team always. I’ll stick with them forever through all the disappointment, frustration, and embarrassment because I know our day is coming. I don’t know when, but it’s coming. And when it does, it’ll be that much more amazing. I love that tweet. I bookmarked it. I feel like if you are a fan, a true fan of any team, especially Arizona sports teams, the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Cardinals, this should be our delusional bias belief system. That’s how that’s how I feel about the Suns, guys. I I hope that one day our time will come and we will win an NBA championship or as Matt Ishbia puts it championships throughout all the disappointment, frustration, embarrassing, blah blah blah. That one day our day will come and we will win a championship. That’s how that’s how I feel about this. That’s how I feel about the Phoenix Suns. That’s how I feel about every Arizona sports team because I try to support all of them. One day, you guys. One day. And best of luck to the Phoenix Mercury, you guys. I know they lost the first two games, but they are in the finals right now. I hope they win. I wish I could go to those games, but like my work schedule just isn’t really working out. But, uh, you know. Yeah. All right, guys. Gonna read a couple comments and we’re gonna get out of here. Um, shout out to my guy Andrew. I appreciate you, man. and he says, “Uh, hello, Sunsge Geek. Long time no see. Thanks for being here, my brother. I appreciate you.” Um, free tickets and diabetes from Coke. I don’t know why I said that. I saw, didn’t the thing say like with $150 of Coke or something like? That’s nuts. That That’s a wild saying. Welcome back to the Valley. Thank you, man. I’m so honored to be back. 1. I must say that I love that the Suns started the 2nd Qtr ahead by 15 points and we added onto that lead and Won the game by 22 points…Unlike the Arizona Cardinals! I am loving this SUNS team. It's the Only Competitive Team in Arizona!!

  2. 33:11 I don't, DeAndre helped destroy our team that made it to the championship because he's soft and selfish. He didn't even dunk against us, and he hates us. I hope he never goes another game scoring more than 10 points. I was a huge fan and I rooted for him and I defended him, better than he defends the damn rim, and I put my name on the line saying he was a better pick than any of the other top five picks and boy was I wrong. I love that he's on the Lakers because it's going to give us a chance to rise faster than we would have had he been on another team. And I freaking hate the Lakers because it's the law here in the valley.
