“We just have to be patient”

  1. The Dan Campbell first year record is the new “well Peyton manning threw 28 interceptions his rookie year, maybe my dogshit rookie QB will be fine”

  2. I don’t have anything against Glenn, but at some point people decided that being smart means never being reactive. And man, I dunno, I feel like you should mix in a little reactivity to stuff that unfolds in front of you.

    (I’d have fired Carlos Mendoza.)

  3. The Jets are hard to watch. They are. No question.

But you guys seem to revel in making them even harder to watch.

There is no formulation where firing Aaron Glenn after five games would be a good idea.

    None whatsoever.

Maybe do something else with your life if you can’t handle watching.

  4. This post sure is going to be a honeypot for the most annoying copers, isn’t it?

  5. I just don’t know who is turning this mess around 5 weeks into the season. Glenn has a lot to prove but I’m not ready to fire him already.

  6. I mean, the Jets weren’t doing anything this season anyway. To call for a firing after 5 games is so fucking stupid and will only continue sending the Jets into dysfunctional territory. We’re like omg the Jets are a terribly run team! And then we want everyone fired or benched after 3 seconds. All I gotta say is thank goodness reddit isn’t actually in charge of anything.

  7. This is a rebuild/tank year. Anyone coming in with different expectations is beyond delusional and dumb. Build the roster the right way and dump him for an experienced coach (if need be) when it’s go time.

  8. Let’s look at this and take emotion out. Defense is fucking ass, numbers and your eyes don’t lie.

So you say, “But they’re the same players! This is bullshit!”

Jets did a lot of zone last year, AG/Wilks is running a more man coverage style. The players don’t fit that terribly well outside Sauce.

So you have players that aren’t great in a style and a coaching staff that isn’t great at teaching the style the players are good at. So what is the answer to that equation, utter shit.

Look at the tape when they tried to revert back to the players strength this week (zone) they got diced. This is a trial year to see who stats and who goes. Expect a fire sale at the deadline.

This is me trying to take emotion out of it.

However, I am baffled by how much the pass rush fucking sucks.

  9. Glenn gets at least 2 years. Who the fuck takes the Jets job if it opens up end of the year that’s worth their weight?

You don’t even get a year with this dogshit team and owner? No fucking way we get anyone good if Glenn gets fired

  10. How is it this bad? Just how is it this bad? I don’t even have hope and they still find ways to break my heart. People are now talking about the Saleh “golden age” Are you kidding me?

  11. Still too early. However, if this keeps up with little (or no) improvement, one and done should absolutely be on the table.

  12. Before the season I was thinking\hoping 4-13 this year with improvement each game.

Now I don’t think we win a single game. It’s that bad.

  13. It’d be one thing if we were really looking at a two win roster, but we absolutely aren’t. These guys are playing wayyy below expectation and have shown zero improvement over five weeks. In fact, they’ve regressed week one to now.

  14. The lack of talent the lions had compared to this team on paper was night and day. Fire AG after this season if we don’t win a single game.

  15. I want him to work. But the team getting effectively WORSE each week is a really bad sign. Nevermind the losses.

  16. The bar is low for jets coaches. And unless you are Gase like. I believe HC and GM deserve atleast 2 years. As well as young Coordinators unless they are extremely poor. I would replace Wilks unless there is major improvement.

  17. We’re being sold a bill of goods because we were repeatedly told this roster has a lot of talent and then as soon as things went south all the sudden it’s “nobody could win with this team.” Pick a fucking lane.

  18. If it continues this way he should be fired. It’s been the worst product I’ve ever seen and that includes gase who had a much more talentless roster than this.

If they show a little grit and compete later in the year, yea give him another season to get things together but this narrative of never firing a guy after one season is silly – especially if they’re showing complete incompetence.

Nathaniel Hackett went 4-11 his first season and was canned before the year finished because things didn’t look good. They got Sean Payton and turned things around immediately. Coaching matters and if you’re this bad it’s hard to imagine a magical turn around in a year, even two.

  19. We fired a defensive coordinator that we made into a first time head coach and hired an arguably worse defensive coordinator and made him into a first time head coach. I can’t imagine why this brilliant plan isn’t working honestly
