Not sure if anyone else caught the press release, but it looks like we have a new analyst in Alex Stalock and Wes Waltz is pre and post game exclusively. Thoughts?

  1. Glad Walz isn’t broadcasting anymore.

That entire last sentence can go away though. Really don’t want to hear anymore analytics during the actual game. Just let the flow of the game drive the broadcast. This isn’t baseball or nfl where you have 5 seconds of action followed by a minute of nothing that you need to fill.

Now if the analytics is pre or post game then I don’t care since I don’t watch those shows anyway.

  2. As long as Walz isn’t in the booth making me suffer through his voice all game long, we’re winners.

  3. Parrish gone? Terrible choice. Guessing that last guy is based centrally in the new Denver thing

  4. no ‘color commentary’ from wes that’s actually just inane rambling about his playing career?? oh no!! whatever will we do!!!

  5. Getting Walz off the broadcast cost us a Parrish.

Good on Carter for developing his craft and getting it full time.

  6. Re: the unfortunate title typo.

Was on the bus (service in Phoenix is crap btw) going home from work and I had filled in the content. Was doing the title and the damn bus went over a dip or a pothole too hard causing me to whiplash a bit and my thumb slipping to the post button.

    Damn bus… XD

  7. SUCK IT WALZ, THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!!!!!!!! I also second the “where is Parrish?” talk. Parrish is my favorite on screen and on radio personality for sure.

  8. LaPanta got some questions on season preview Worst Seats episode and gave a lot of details. Seems like the bankruptcy restructuring changed a lot. Internally, they are siloed more by sport now. But this also means less people doing more. For instance, he mentioned one guy is doing all of FanDuel’s graphics now instead of one per market. He expects some mistakes and hiccups at the beginning. They also plan to leverage their network more and have look-ins or interviews from other games that are live at the same time. He mentioned Gorg might do an interview hit for another market occasionally.

Another thing he mentioned was pre/post game staff traveling with them on the road to create more “connection” with the game.

He mentioned Mike Kelly and Sportlogiq are going to be more visible on broadcasts too.
