🚨BREAKING: How This MAJOR NFL News Impacts The 49ers + 49ers Workouts, Eddy Pineiro, Maxx Crosby

[Music] Coming up here on the San Francisco 49ers report, how this breaking NFL news today impacts the NerS moving forward. Could Max Crosby be a Niner? What a dream trade target that would be. The 49ers today worked out several players. Is a signing on the horizon? And I want to get into a move that has helped to save the 49ers 2025 season. Before we get into all of that, earlier today I put up a 30 minute Niners Buccaneers preview here for this great week six matchup inside the NFC. Everything that you need to know about this game going into it. It’s all broken down on the program. So be sure to check that show out after, of course, you watch this show. We’re 349 people away from 176,000 subscribers. Let’s get to that next milestone. And let’s begin here with topic number one. How this breaking news impacts the 49ers. Chase, what are you talking about? I don’t know about any breaking news that happened today. There was a trade. In fact, there were multiple traits, but this one specifically can impact the ners here over the next few weeks and the plan that they might have as an organization and as a front office. The Browns trading away quarterback Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals. They get a 2026 fifth round pick. The Bengals get Flaco, the elder statesman who started the first few games for Cleveland and then got benched for Dylan Gabriel. The Bengals also get a 2026 sixround pick. So in turn, Flacco to the Bengals and then they swap some late round selections in the 2026 draft. Now why did the Cleveland Browns elect to do this? They have Dylan Gabriel. Shador Sanders was also drafted in the 2025 draft after Gabriel. Gabriel third round, Shadura fifth round. And they just bench Flaco for Gabriel before losing in the final seconds to the Minnesota Vikings in London. Why did the Bengals make this move on their end? Joe Burrow was out until December with a bad form of turf toe which required surgery. Jake Browning was his backup. He got elevated into a starting role and over the last three games he has been absolutely awful. I’m talking dreadful. One of the worst, probably the worst starting quarterback in the National Football League. And so the Bengals are making this move as Flaco, I imagine, is going to become the starter soon as a lastditch effort to try to save and salvage the season. And the Bengals are feeling a little bit of pressure as far as timing goes because the schedule coming up, it features some really big games for Cincinnati if they have any hopes of trying to make the playoffs and contend in the AFC North. They’re on the road against the Packers here in week six. Then they host the Pittsburgh Steelers. They host the New York Jets. They host the Chicago Bears. And then they play the Steelers again a second time over the span of four games. And so there are some big AFC North matchups here between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. Always great rivalry games. There’s a very difficult test against a Packers team that’s motivated because they lost to Cleveland a few weeks ago. Then they tied with the Dallas Cowboys recently, right? And then you have a winnable game against the Jets. if Cincinnati can salvage some of these games and maybe split with Pittsburgh, their hopes of making the playoffs are alive. Now, it’s not a consistent heartbeat, but at least it’s a heartbeat, right? Because nobody has really separated themselves within the AFC North. You have the Steelers at 3 and one, the Bengals at two and three. They’re one game back in the win column of being in first place in this division. And if they can continue to fight to stay a top or near the top of this division, if they get Joe Burrow back in December, maybe they have a fighting chance. Another thing that’s huge inside this division is that the Ravens, surprisingly, this has shocked everybody, 1 and four to begin the 2025 campaign, and they have had a litany of injuries to so many important players. their season might be done, but they’re also still kind of in the mix because nobody has run away with this division. Then you have the Cleveland Browns there at one and four. And from the Browns standpoint, it’s like we’re going to go with Dylan Gabriel anyway. We’ll get a look at him. We’ll get a look at Shadore. Joe Flacco no longer in our plants. He was the placeholder all along for our young quarterbacks. So, we’ll send him to Cincinnati. Now, how all of this impacts the Niners? I’m sure a lot of you have that question. Some of you have pieced it together. Some of you still haven’t. That’s why I’m here for you. The Bengals here in making this trade want to see if they can improve the quarterback spot and improve their quarterback play, win some games to see if they can get into the playoffs or at least be competitive until Joe Barl comes back from that turf toe surgery. So, they’re bad and I don’t think that this move is really going to help them, but this is their desperation effort to see if it can help them. And so either way, this delays the possibility of the Niners trading for Trey Hendrickson soon. Now, the NFL trade deadline is after week nine going into week 10. So, the Niners still have some time and some wiggle room to try to find a pass rusher to fulfill the shoes of Nick Bosa to make this pass rush better and improve it because the last two games without Bosa, they’ve really struggled. But if we were hoping for the Niners to trade for Hendrickson here in the next couple of weeks in the hopes that the Bengals also continue to lose games, they’re making this trade to see if they can keep their heads above water and it delays the possibility of a Hendrickson trade soon. And I think the Niners need to make a trade soon. I mean, you look at their pass rush production by week, right? And Nick Bosa started these three games and then he was lost early in this week three affair with Arizona. In week one against Seattle, the team had 10 pressures, a sack, two hits. In week two, 22 pressures, three sacks, two hits. Week three, 22 pressures, a sack, and three hits. In the two games without Nick Bosa, full games without Nick Bosa, the Niners have one sack and one combined quarterback hit. Not a sustainable way to play defensive football. Now, the 16 pressures against the Rams was a step up from the only five pressures that the Niners got against Jacksonville. But there’s certainly an alarming trend here, and that goes to show you how great and how dominant Nick Bosa is as a player. And you also think about what he did within this time frame, right? He pushed Abraham Lucas into the lap of Sam Darnold, forced that fumble, ball out, Niners recover, game over. Week two, he had a massive sack that helped to decide the game. And so I think San Francisco needs to make a move. We’ll see if it’s for Hendrickson or somebody else. And speaking of that, let’s talk about another trade target. I was thinking about this earlier. Should the 49ers go allin, put their nuts on the table, and try to trade for Max Crosby? Here are my thoughts on this. I think that Max Crosby should demand a trade. He’s wasting away his career with the Las Vegas Raiders. That organization is a joke. And somehow from last year to this year, even though they fired Antonio Pierce and they hired Pete Carol, they look worse. And us as football fans, given how great of a player Max Crosby is, how much he cares about his craft, we deserve to see him play meaningful football. He can’t do it with the Raiders. And I think that Crosby in this wide nine with some of the talent on this roster could thrive in this scheme under Robert Sal and Chris Koserk. And obviously the ners badly need a defensive end and they need to upgrade their pass rush after the Nick Bosa torn ACL which ended his season. And according to reports the ners in the past have shown some interest in Max Crosby. They’ve at least gauged what it would cost to bring him into the ners. Crosby once again having a terrific season being the allpro and the Pro Bowl stud that he is. Overall PFF grade of 84.6, a run defense grade of 78.6. six pass rush grade of 76.8, two sacks, and then he has 16 pressures and four hits. Tim Kawakami had reported this the other week, and that’s that report that I was alluding to that the 49ers have liked Trey Hendrickson for a while. He said, “I don’t think the Bengals were picking up the phone the last few years, but if they did, the 49ers would have talked to them. They like him a lot. Miles Garrett, Max Crosby, and Trey Hendrickson are the guys I’ve always heard that if they were going to get another big-time defensive end, they would like to get one of those guys. Now, it would not be cheap. Crosby is still at the peak of his powers. He’s in his prime in his late 20s. And if the Raiders do deal him away, they deal him away to get back draft capital to help them rebuild. And so the 49ers at the very least would have to give up a first round pick. But if they think that they can really contend, I’d make a call to see what it would cost because Max Crosby would really help out this defense. Still to come here on the show, the NerS today at the SAP performance facility worked out several players. Does that indicate they’re going to sign somebody soon? Usually it does. And I want to talk about a move that has saved the 49er season. But how about our sponsor? This product is a gamecher and a lifecher. It’s the Tushy luxury bedet. All right, these six players working out for the 49ers today and some familiar names who have been with the ners before. John Joiner is probably the most intriguing name on this list, notably played for the Las Vegas Raiders. Other players working out for the ners, Michael Dwumor who spent some time with the team, Jonathan Garvin did as well, Bruce Hector, Shaquel Brown also spent some time with San Francisco. And let’s try to do this together. The other player working out for the ners today. Tommy Aing Bot. I think I got that right. If I didn’t, you let me know and you can say it phonetically for me down in the comments section. The Niners also did make a roster move today as they released defensive back Jaylen Mahoney from the practice squad with this team during the summer. Didn’t make the initial 53. Brought back to the practice squad. Let go. Brought back. Let go. A body who they trust clearly on that taxi squad, but he has been let go. Wouldn’t surprise me if he does come back. All right, let me round out with this. The 49ers decision to get rid of Jake Moody and sign Eddie Pinero has been a season saver. That’s not a hyperbolic statement. I mean that quite literally. And you think about Eddie Diero Pierro’s big-time clutch kicks this year for San Francisco. They’ve come in big spots. They’ve helped to decide games and they’ve helped the NerS win a lot of close games against the Saints. Two plus two 40 plus yarders right down the pipe. He had the gamewinner as the clock bled out against Arizona. The celebration was awesome. He had the 59yder a career long and the overtime kick against the Los Angeles Rams. And he’s brought this team a lot of juice and a lot of swagger. And you don’t think of kickers as having swag. Kyle Shanahan has acknowledged that. This guy has a lot of intensity to his game. And it’s pretty incredible that he wasn’t with the team considering the fact he’s a top five most accurate kicker of all time. And we’ve seen that happen in reality for the NerS, right? This year he has been awesome. He’s a perfect 11 of 11 on his field goal makes and attempts. Three of three from 20 to 29 yards. Three of three on kicks of 30 to 39 yards. Three of three on kicks of 40 to 49 yards. And how about this? Jake Moody would never two of two on kicks of 50 plus yards going into this year. Obviously Jake Moody was on rocky ground, but did anybody think that Eddie Diero Pinero would help to save the Niner season? As far as EPA goes, he’s also top five among kickers. What a pickup for San Francisco. They got this one right and hopefully he can be the kicker for this team for a long haul. And hopefully the Niners learn their lesson. Never draft a kicker in the third round. Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button here on the show. I appreciate all of you for rocking here with me and we’ll catch you soon. [Music]

  1. If Crosby becomes a Niner, I'll buy his jersey. But, I don't have to worry about that because they will never trade with the Niners. The Niners could offer them 42 first round picks and they would still probably say no.

  2. Ya, Max is waisting his career on the Raiders. Only way we get him is if he feels the same way. We will see. 9ers are going to sign someone and it’s exciting to see who it will be.

  3. Thanks Chase. I can't see Maxx coming to the Niners. He wants to retire a Raider and wants that team to do better. Trey would be the most viable candidate. But the Bengals move shows that they believe they still have a chance. The defense is bad now and would be abysmal without Trey Hendrikson. Eddy has already won more games for us that Moody had dreamed about in his 3 seasons. Huge additional. 🫔🫔🫔

  4. You'd have to trade the farm to get Crosby. What would the raiders want in return? They aren't contenders. I would ask for Mac Jones and give the niners a wide receiver. And Gina Smith as the backup.? That's a crazy scenario but I can't imagine the raiders going to let Crosby go for nothing. A first and second round pick.

  5. @49ersTv
Niners need to trade for a great pass rusher! Not just make a trade! They are getting nothing for pressure on passing downs. Since Bosa went down. Every team in NFL knows this. Need a Rusher that offense worry about come game day.

  6. I want Max Crosby just as bad as any. Niner fan. But Chase you gotta talk about the difference between Hendrickson and Crosby. Crosby is a high level rental kind of like we intended with Chase Young but better. Crosby has three years left on his contract and one of the most expensive address and contracts along with Bosa. If we get Crosby that means we have to either trade him at the end of the season or trade Bosa for coming off the injury trade value. Unless you know something about the salary cap that I know but I've never seen a team have two of the most expensive edge contracts along with a quarterback who just got His second contract as a starter. We still have to pay Lenoire. It's possible I guess if we trade Aiyuk And retain Jennings. Finally like a lot of people were saying I just don't think David Centership is gonna trade their top player to the 49ers. Can you remember the last time we had a significant trade with the Raiders? Mark Davis will have to sell the rest of his ownership to Tom Brady and flee Las Vegas if he sends the most beloved Raiders to the 49ers on a down year. Also side note crosbys Deep metric show he's having one of his worst years in his career. I think he has a 10% pass rush wouldn't rate this year which is pretty bad for him

  7. If there ever was a trade for Crosby, I think Allegiant Stadium would have all no Raider fans left. Even as a Niner fan, I like Crosby, but man, that Raider's team is wasting his talent, and eventually, Crosby will force Mark Davis' hand for a trade……..

  8. 9ers gona have to pull off a 3 team trade for Maxx Crosby. Simple Jack don’t wana give the 9ers a damn thing. 9ers make an unrelated trade with Vikings n Vikings make trade for Maxx n then deal him to 9ers for some picks and a high5.

  9. Ain't nothing breaking about this news so tired of the what ifs or what could be ain't never gonna happen I have a better chance on making the Niners then them getting Crosby

  10. Chase quit putting pictures of these players you KNOW we aren't going after or even considering! You usually give good insight down stray away from that chasing clicks.

  11. Max would be filthy on any team. He’s a top pass rusher in the league. Of course they would like to trade for him. None of this is news. The only way they are getting a good pass rusher is high draft capitol and Mac jones to a qb needy team.
