Mariners are ‘ROLLING’ 🔱 Big Papi, A-Rod & Derek Jeter react to Cal Raleigh & Game 3 win vs Tigers

There was another game even though it was delayed by 3 hours by rain, we know that the Mariners and Tigers finally played a game, right? So they rolled out their MVP Miggy, Miguel Cabrera threw out the first pitch and that’s where the good feelings were left because Jack Flaherty was on the mound and it did not go well. JP Crawford will base it the other way and Riley Green, 00, quote D train clank the clank clank. He’s in Roblela slides in. That wasn’t particularly great, so Mariners will take advantage of that for the early lead. All right, let’s go to the 4th. Mariners are up 2-0 at this point. A Suarez big trade deadline acquisition had yet to check in. he checked in now. That was a bomb. Wow wow ouch, 30 gives the hearts to Seattle fans and loves it. Yeah, they’re feeling good because Logan Gilbert guys was really good. You know we’re talking about that split with Weo on the pregame show. Well, enjoy that. That is no joke. Spencer Torkelson Hills. That is dirty. Is that a splitter? Yeah, Gilbert, 1 run, 6 innings, 7 strikeouts, and then there’s this guy, by the way, Cal Riley, big dumper. Oh my. He’s dumping all right. Oh wow, he’s having a heck of a playoff season. How do you do it so easy. First homer of the postseason, but the ball bounces to a Kyle Riley fan. We showed him in the pregame, to dump it here, who then changed his shirt. To say dump 62 here you got 61. That’s awesome. It’s pretty great, right? Uh, so the Mariners were up big. Tiger scored a couple late. Bottom line is Seattle wins it 8 to 4. Cal Riley is on fire. He’s batting nearly 500 this postseason, and after the game, he spoke with our Tom Berducci. Come on. Thanks, Cal Riley some fun facts for you because that was home run number 1 for you this postseason. You become only the 4th player to hit 60 homers in the regular season and homer in the same postseason, joining Aaron Judge, Roger Maris, and Babe Ruth. And oh by the way, don’t know if you saw it, that home run was caught by a Mariners fan wearing number 61. What’s most impressive for you? That’s crazy. I mean, what are the odds of that? So, um. Yeah, we were able to get it one time. It was, it was a big one for sure. How good was Logan Gilbert tonight, especially setting the tone early? Yeah, he was awesome, you know, he, he came out, you know, gave him a few hits early, but he never wavered, you know, he’s still attacking the hitters. He was able to get a good mix there going, um, you know, uh, I think only one walk really. So, you know, like I said, he was attacking hitters all night and you know, give him credit, he made pitches when he had to. Cal, tomorrow, you and your club will come to the ballpark one win away from a chance to play for the American League pennant. Tell me how you believe this team will handle that opportunity in game 4. Yeah, you know, I think we enjoyed tonight, you know, great, but you know, show up to the ballpark ready to go tomorrow, kind of job not finished kind of mentality, you know. I know these guys are hungry still, so we still got a lot of work to do and we know we’re getting a tough pitcher tomorrow. So, you know, come focused and ready to go tomorrow for sure. Thanks so much, Cal. We’ll see you in game 4. Thank you. Thank you. All right, Cal, Tom, appreciate that and a big win for the M’s. They are one win away from going to the LCS and, uh, yeah, captain of the sea, see what we did there? I love that headline by Tones. That is pretty sweet because look what he’s done in the playoffs to make that 462, his OPS is over 1200. I mean that’s, that’s a heck of a series against the Tigers, you know, we’ve talked about him on the pregame show about the MVP and how good he is, but. I mean when you’re when your best player is setting the tone like that Derek what he’s done for that Seattle team it just feels like they’ve got a ton of confidence right now. They’ve been relying on him all season long and he’s delivering in the biggest moments for them, but I tell you. You have Suarez checking in now if he gets hot and then what I like to see was JP Crawford, the longest tenured mariner with two hits, hitting a home run, couldn’t be happier for him, but this team is starting to get rolling. I know they’ve been good all year, but you want everyone to get hot at the same time and that time of year is now and uh you get Suarez swinging the bat like that, then they’re gonna be tough. Well, you had the big guys taking the pressure away from the little guy when that happened. And then this is what what what you get going on. Julio doesn’t have a good night tonight, but the rest of the team did. What that tells you, well, tomorrow I gotta come in and do something to continue helping the ball club to win game, but this guy Car Carl is, is just, he just, he impressed me every day the way he called the game, his approach at the play, he is stick with what with what you give him. He let the game come to him. When he hit, he don’t even look like he’s worried about hitting a home run. He just wanna put a good swing on the ball, let the ball get deep and put a good swing on it. That is professional hitting right there. You know, when you hear his interviews and we’ve seen him, he was on with us yesterday and now today again, he reminds me of another C R, you know, Cal Ripken that we came up looking. Uh, he’s a very humble guy, very monotone, is the same way he has an approach at the plate. I mean, he’s been carrying them there to your point all year long. He did it again tonight and we’ve been ringing the same bell, right? You need your big superstars to step up like Judge to win big in these moments. Oh, and by the way, he also caught a gem of Logan Gilbert, right? I mean, just by the way, he’s gotta be tired, man. Do the, do the mariners have any other catcher? What’s that? Do the mariners have any other catcher? You won’t see it. Never seen him Dave Bley Dan Wilson, that’s a great, right? Wilson, your former teammate, that’s maybe the, that’s like the greatest, the greatest gig in the world, the Mariners backup. Listen, he does he had during the regular season DH a little bit, but to your point, the guy’s a, the guy’s a beast, plays every night being a backup quarterback to Tom Brady. That’s, you know, it’s a good gig if you can get it. It’s a good gig if you can get it.

Alex Rodriguez compared Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh to Baltimore Orioles legend Cal Ripken Jr. for their similar style and demeanor. Additionally, David Ortiz, Derek Jeter and Kevin Burkhardt broke down the Mariners dominant win over the Detroit Tigers.

  1. Both A-Rod and Jeter said they belive that Judge is the MVP this year but as Yankees, what else are they going to say? I do hope the Mariner's and Yankees face each other. That would be fun.

  2. cant wait for mitch garver to hit a homerun next game and hopefully be winning to see harry ford secure the final out. that would be almost as sweet as seeing the guy with a dump 61/62 "on my chest" here shirts!
