At what point does a Freiermuth trade become a legitimate discussion?

Can’t believe we paid $50m for this dude. I know he’s loved by this sub but he is a JAG on the field
It’s 4 games guys, different players shine at different points in the season, you don’t give up anything if you’re trying to make a run this year, everybody needs to chill with the Muth/Highsmith complaining.
Who’d want him? Maybe in the offseason an opportunity would arise, but our best hope is he sorts out whatever is going on and starts playing well for us.
It really says a lot when Freirmuth is the third best tight end on the depth chart and he’s by far the highest paid
If we could get a legit wr 2 for him I would make that trade asap
Was thinking about this today. I don’t think he’s washed, just underutilized in this offense. Maybe that changes but I think he’s a good trade candidate but good luck finding a team to take on that salary.
Freiermuth hasn’t been good, but these trade posts are so dumb.
Has anyone looked at Jonnu Smith’s ref page? He’s also not doing shit. They don’t even ask him to run actual routes, he just gets screens called for him and does nothing with them. His ADoT is .4 yards for gods sake.
i wanna see him as a big slot WR, instead of TE, at this point
What makes you think we could get anything for him?
Dude wouldn’t get us more than a 6th
He had 650 yards and 7 tds last year. That’s pretty good production out of a TE on a bad offensive team. I think people should cool it.
Or, and try to follow me on this one, we actually throw him the damn ball?!? There have been plenty of instances when we have faced two high safeties and Pat is just sitting there in the middle able to draw circles in the dirt because no one thinks the Steelers use the middle of the field.
It doesn’t
Probably not in-season, but I hope it happens in the offseason, unless we transition to a new OC and new offensive scheme. That seems very unlikely as long as Tomlin remains, so I’d be completely fine with trading Muth to the highest bidder.
Cuz jonnu Smith and Washington are doing so well receiving. Relax a bit. This team is working out the kinks with rodgers. Maybe in the offseason. But theres no reason to get rid of pass catchers. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Especially at their lowest value.
This is misleading. He is not in the game as much as he use to be and even then they are not targeting him. He is still our best route running tight end in my opinion, need to use all our tight ends in more packages besides running plays for blocking. The real problem is our offensive play calling has no creativity. We have a lot of pass catchers but they are not being utilized.
That’s fine but y’all can’t complain when little Heyward starts getting more snaps. With the amount of 12 and 13 personnel we run I’m not upset with having 3 solid TEs. I’m gonna guess we see in an increase passing to the TEs if the run game improves.
At Tomlin’s press conference he said Pat and Jonny were told in advance that they likely wouldn’t see many snaps because they were using Darnell and Spencer Anderson to help block against the Vikings. He said for any 4-3 defensive front they face that he likes to have at least an extra guy on the line to help protect and block.
So it’s not that Pat all of a sudden sucks. He just wasn’t part of the scheme.
He’s not going anywhere guys. Especially after just being extended in the offseason and us being 4 games in.
Tomlin said if we play 4-3 defenses that Pat and Jonnu will get less snaps. Pat is a great receiving TE, we just haven’t given him any volume this year. Arthur Smith loves 3 TEs so there’s no way he gets traded.
No one is trading for this guy or his salary lol get real
