Several options he could’ve targeted, a clear opportunity to step up in the pocket, but he ran in circles for 10 seconds and chucked the ball to nobody. And some of you here still think he’s the guy.

  1. It’s like going to a restaurant and the server offers you a free item off the menu and you end up picking an extra napkin cause your brain is overstimulated with options.

    Yeah we ass.

  2. He’s scared to get hit. It’s why he crumbles the moment anyone gets a hand on him, it’s why he starts running for his life the moment his first read isn’t open…

Some Ls aren’t “his fault” like this last week, but this type of play from your qb isn’t gonna win you any big games.

  3. He’s far from perfect, but it’s easy to critique these screenshots from our phones. Especially when the o line isn’t consistent. Rarely do these screenshots tell the whole story.

  4. I honestly suggest people watch Kurt Warner’s week 4 breakdown. He’s pretty generous to Kyler and does point out some scheme issues along with receiver issues, but even with that it’s clear Kyler is afraid to let the ball loose, especially over the middle/in traffic. And that’s not even to mention his knock for bailing clean pockets.

  5. Was his worst play of the game, didn’t cost us the game. Made tons of great plays and throws. Keep nit-picking

  6. > And some of you here still think he’s the guy

I think he’s the best option we currently have. I’m not on team Brissett. I’m at the point where I think this franchise can make most QBs fail lol.

  7. “He could have stepped up in the pocket” sure if he wants less field vision than he already has. Dude can’t see over the line. If a receiver is not visible between his blockers he has to revert to scrambling. Messy situation we are in with this guy. He is not terrible but the struggle is real in many situations as we all see.

  8. I gotta say even looking at this screenshot, there aren’t a lot of “open” receivers downfield. The coverage is decent and defenders are closing fast. We’ve got five guys downfield covered by seven. Doesn’t seem to be any great open pass play all here. O line is collapsing. A QB run was probably our best option for yards. Gotta be frustrating for Murray

  9. So to be fair this screenshot is misleading. That right side is already lost, and he’s about to scramble away from a sack as you can already see the defender has blown past the RT and is about to get in his face. Once he starts that scramble he doesn’t get a chance to end it as the rest of the line collapses. He never really had proper time to do a full motion.

Yes, it looks like he had options but that was a VERY fast moving situation. He should have thrown it away during the scramble out of bounds, but this screenshot is taken during .2 seconds of time as everything immediately collapses around and he’s 1/4 of a second from having a defender in his grill already.

I have my issues with his poor choice of a pseudo shovel pass / grounding on this play vs a proper throw away, but this play was a collapse from the get go and when he was scrambling he shifted directions multiple times leading to almost no options to actually throw except a mid pivot “pray for it” toss possibly.

  10. People say it’s a Petzing issue so much but here’s a play with a pocket that held for 3 seconds and two open receivers. How in the world is Murray not responsible for the bad offense?

  11. You should post the video of the whole play. Half a second later the defender is on top of Murray who somehow feels him coming and spins away.

I’d like to see what this looked like a second sooner to know who was open, because at this point there’s very little chance for him to make a safe throw on this part of the field.

Also, the grounding was stupid, but when you look at the replay the defender tackles him right at the goal line so there’s a decent chance this is a safety if he holds onto the ball.

  12. One thing we as fans do not know tho, is his reads. We don’t know where he is supposed to be looking first. First read could be covered at the same time 3rd and 4th reads could be open. Playing couch coach is super easy from a single screen grab of a game

  13. I think any sensible fan, even those of us that like K1, understand he is flawed. Is the play calling horrific? Yes. Is K1 also making some bad decisions and/or not seeing some good opportunities? Also yes.

This is part of why I would be ok with the nuclear option this off season.

  14. I think when things are going as bad as they are, it’s never one issue. We have a lacklustre OL, WR core, a QB who needs a relatively good group players around him to succeed if not he great players, and OC/HC stuck in there ways. It’s pretty much a combination of bs. This is screaming rebuild mode ( yes again… ) I think it has to be burned down. Which sucks cuz as fans we really thought we had something going. But this is typical cardinals football. We don’t draft the best and we’re cheap. Our owner wants to make money off of amenities and not winning. He definitely goes to sleep perfectly fine at night whether we’re 0-4, 2-2, or 4-0. He’s just happy to be rich as fuck. I was a huge Kyler fan, I was 16 when we drafted him and I was a kid who was honestly close to one of his biggest fans I absolutely LOVED the dude. I loved him over the years and seeing him grow into a mature player with his emotions on and off the field had been great. But just like a relationship with a girl who just keeps doing the wrong things eventually you stop giving your all whether it’s intentional or mentally. He just isn’t gonna do much in AZ, and it’s part to the fact we’re just one of worst franchises in NFL history. We all know he would most likely ball somewhere else and if not hey at least he got his shot. But nothing is working here and it’s gotten to the point where even the worst / bad teams look more competent than us. I watch more NFL games this year and I’ve noticed that most teams have this entertaining/ fun to watch even when they’re losing aspect to them. We however look like a blooper real for 2 and a half hours straight…. It’s a shame to even call us an NFL team man. It really is sad but I’m no longer putting any energy/ emotion into this team. Not buying any jerseys, not gonna watch this year. I’ll peep the stats EOY. I’m gonna stick to watching red zone and MNF, SNF, TNF. At least I get a good kick out of every other NFL team play 🙃 the cardinals have become pure blasphemy!

  15. I thought Jonah didn’t do terrible job blocking Simmons. Kyler had more than enough time to get rid of the ball. How many times have we seen browning or sweat get free within 1 second and the qb gets rid of the ball before the sack. Kyler doesn’t do that.

  16. That’s actually a really well designed play, the corner on the near side is in a real pickle. If we had a qb who could see over the o line and go through a progression that could work very well.

  17. I don’t know about KM being “the guy”, but it’s clear that we have many other positions to improve on before thinking about replacing QB for some reason. He’s part of the problem. But just because there are a ton of rabid KM stans, it doesn’t mean we should swing heavily in the extreme opposite.

  18. I have been a Kyler supporter because he has alot of upside, but im starting to waiver because of plays like these. Guess we should draft a QB.

  19. Always love the screenshot of a play posts. Really tells you what level of football knowledge you’re dealing with from op upfront.
