New England Patriots vs New Orleans Saints | Week 6 Game Preview

New Orleans is at home this week and you can go ahead and add the S back to their name. They ain’t a winless team no more. Nowhere to go. Throws incomplete and that should do it from New Orleans. Making it two in a row will be a challenge with New England in town. The Patriots may have just shown they’ve officially arrived. And the Patriots take the lead with 15 seconds remaining. Guess that means they’ve rearrived. I think they were here before. But now folks are wondering just how good might they beating the 4 and0 Bills juggernaut on their turf. And did you see this Drake May kid? One of the most impressive zero TD games you’ll ever see. Over 270 yards, no interceptions, a 101 rate over nine yards per attempt. Dimes and dots all night. And his pass right before the two-minute warning in the fourth akin to Clark Griswald’s Christmas lighting after the lights came on. He is in a stiff armed battle. And not only did he get the ball off, he got it completed. A real be, Drake. It was a real be led to a respectable 23-point night. That’s 23 plus points in three of their last four. Patriots looking for the lead. Raandre Stevenson pounds it into the end zone. Pat’s defense helped quite a bit, too. They’d like to do better than three for nine on third down. Whether they do depends on if their offense is more like San Francisco’s, Seattle’s, and Buffaloos, who New Orleans defense gave up 26 or more points to, or more like Arizona’s and New Yorks, who they held under 21 after keeping the Giants to 14 last week, three for 10 on third down, sealed the game with a fumble recovery touchdown. One of five takeaways they came up with. And going the other way, that’s the third turnover of the game for the Giants. That showing brought their season average down to 27 points per game. The secondary May faces just came up with two Jackson Dart passes. Held him to 5.1 per attempt, a sub 75 rate, only 202 yds. Dart intercepted again. Kool-Aid has his second. And that brought their season rating down to 106. Only sacked Dart once for three yards, 40 pass attempts. May threw 30 times. He took four sacks. May taking off here. He is tied up and brought down. May only lost six yards, so minimized the damage. Even under duress, he still helped Stfan Diggs deliver the perfect revenge game. 146 yards. Had that fire you sort of thought Buffalo might be missing. Back-to-back cenote outings for Diggs. The moxy, the energy, the want to. I’m ready. I waited all week for it. We know Stfan digs booty and so does Drake. And so does May. Who doesn’t? I guess Kahan chipped in 43 yards in that win. Firing sideline. It’s caught. That is Kan Booty bringing it in. Hunter Henry with 46. He’s been relevant in four of their five matches. Duren firing down the middle. Hung on to that is Hunter Henry. New Orleans DBs did give up 52 yards to tight end Daniel Bellinger and two touchdowns to tight end Theo Johnson. Nothing major to white outs, but 45 to running back Cam Scataboo. though they held him as a runner to 3.9 a carry. Gatibu running and can he get there? He’s going to be about a yard shy. They had problems with Dart’s legs though. 55 rush yards, 7.9 per run. May can run, didn’t Buffalo much. Their rush attack only good for 71 yards on 3.2 per attempt. Raandre Stevenson scored a couple times, but also lost another fumble, his third this year. Stevenson with the catch and he loses the ball. The man has had a lot of fumbling problems. Again, that Saints defense recovered three fumbles last week, too. New Orleans offense, on the other hand, didn’t turn it over once in their win. Spencer Rattler’s on the board, 1 and 10 in his career now. TD, no interceptions, 100 rate. His second game this year with a triple-digit rating. Rattler has another completion and another first down. 225 yards was his season high and 87 of them came on one pass. And New Orleans offense was only able to put up 19 points. Seven gifted by the defense as we mentioned. 0 for three in the red zone. It’s an offense that has yet to put up 22 points. Over the middle, it’s dropped. Chimera took his eye off it. Patriots defense isn’t easy to score on either. Held the Bills who were good for 30 plus each game to 20 points. Took the ball away three times have now held their opponents under 22 four of five games. Oh, mishandled there. That’s Patriots ball. This is borderline unbelievable. The start to this game. New England secondary rattler squares off with picked off Josh Allen once. Also gave up over 250 yards to him, two TDs, and a plus 100 rate. They reside in the bottom third of all key passing categories after 5 weeks. Allen fires endzone Coleman touchdown. Tight end gave them the most trouble last week. Gave up over a 100 yards to Dalton Concaid. No wide receiver with 50 plus. It was a wide out who hauled in Rattler’s bomb. 87 yarder as part of a 114 yard for Rasheed Shahed. Down the field. Shahed’s got great speed. He’s got him. Shahed down the sideline. Rattlers go to Chris Olive who saw 11 targets. Caught seven for 59 yds. 54 to 59 yds now and four of five. Rattler gets rid of it quickly. Olave’s got some space. Olideline. Alvin Chimera usually sees his fair share of passes. Four catches, only 28 yards. Only 27 rush yards on just 3.4 a run. Kendre Miller led the team in attempts and yards with 41. Miller again. And Kendre Miller is still going 11 yd run. New England just got done holding the previously hot James Cook to 49 yardds on 3.3 per try. Gave up 53 yards to Allen 5.9 a carry. Pats Saints 10 and six in favor of New England who won the first five meetings between the two. None as fine as their 1983 showdown. Though the season final home game found the playoff hungry New Orleans Saints in Foxboro for a game which was unforgettable right from the opening kickoff to ace return man Ricky Smith. The 4550 all the way down to the right sideline. still on the run, going down by the 20, the 10, and he circles. Some of the more astute observers of the pro football scene were at times reminded of moments in New England’s recent history. Collins wide to the left side and he punches it in. The Patriots recorded their second shutout and closed out their home schedule, having won five of their eight home games. Hey. Hey. Hey. [Music]

  1. If the pats underestimate the saints it’s a loss for them. The saints are still figuring everything out and it’s starting to come together slowly, but they’ve been very competitive in every game they’ve been in minus the Seahawks. They have a good oline, rattler hasn’t made many mistakes, he’s been very solid, and they have a good pass defense with young guys that are hungry to keep up the momentum from last week. The dline can be good but inconsistent…chase young will greatly enhance that though if he’s back. Offensively they also got back taysom hill who could be a game changer alone. It’s a sleeper team who is figuring it out as they go…you sleep, You bite the dust. I think they can pull it off

  2. Saints will win. Patriots aren't that good. Got real lucky against Bills
Bills made uncharacteristic mistakes and the crooked Shawn Hoculi ref really helped them. Saints are much better than their record

  3. I am calling myself a nervously optimistic Patriots fan. Here's hoping for a say, 24-10 win over the New Orleans Saints, if we don't eat too much Gumbo and Jambalaya.
