[Patriots] It only takes 45 seconds to see the culture Mike Vrabel’s established in New England.

  1. He did the same thing the week before on Hunters TD, he came up to him and said “pop sprung you”

  2. Vrabs building such a great team and org.

Players want to play for him!

Wait till next year’s FA class!

  3. I know the hate in this sub for Rhamodre was at a fever pitch sunday, but look at how his teammates rally around him. He didn’t even make a crazy play, just kinda waltzed in, and the response is overwhelmingly supportive.

I think if you read between the lines, Vrabel knows that punishing him/cutting him over the fumbling may do more harm to the locker room than good.

  4. I like that we got a few “I love you, man” in there.

Real men give hugs and say I love you!

  5. Something I don’t see on tv, but noticed while in attendance in buffalo on Sunday is how Vrabel would be running all over the place to give high 5s to players subbing in and out. Gave me the warm fuzzies to see it … love that culture.

  6. Shit makes me tear up. Reminds me of pop warner with all my buddies. Exactly how the game should be played.

  7. Jared Wilson was hyped after a rushing TD against the dolphins I think as well. Literally jumping and screaming. Something you don’t see all to often with linemen.

Loving his energy thus far, and am pleasantly surprised with how he’s coming along in what isn’t his natural position.

One of the few “draft day steal” players we’ve gotten that seems to be right so far.

Edit : also notice Vrabel telling him to praise Henry? He did the same thing last week to Henry with Pop’s huge block to spring him. Love that energy he’s building, getting the players to praise and build each other up.

  8. They seem to all like each other instead of weird bitter personal grudges that are allowed to fester

Guess a team really does take their coaches personality into account

  9. It’s moments like these where you see Vrabel walking the talk. I think it was in the locker room after the win in the Miami where he emphasized that it’s the players who win games and he makes sure that they’re recognized and their effort doesn’t go unnoticed. That’s a sign of a great leader.

  10. I’m obviously biased, but I can’t help but think of the video clip from the Dolphins game 2-3 weeks ago that was covered on Good Morning Football in depth. The team was struggling and a defender made two key plays in a row. Excited, he jumped up and not a single teammate reacted after the first sack. He just got back in the huddle. Then, he made a stop on the sidelines and nothing…again.

Culture in a team is vital. In a league of inches, culture absolutely wins games.

  11. “Tell Hunter great block” is great leadership. Give acknowledgment as the coach and also promote connections between the teammates

  12. If this is the play I’m thinking of, Mack had such a monster block on that play. He and Hunter created that touchdown there.

  13. Really helps having Hollins in there too. From everything I’ve seen and heard, he’s a huge culture guy.

  14. Mack Hollins has been a surprising great addition. Has that winning attitude and does what he needs on the play.

  15. This is the shit I like to see. I was ready to launch Mondre into the sun on Sunday, and to see Vrabel encouraging him and building him up is so, so different than *any* Patriots coach I’ve ever seen in my many years watching this team. Bill would’ve ripped him a new one, or just taken him out of the game to send him a message, or made him block for the rest of the night (and don’t pretend we didn’t all want that, I saw the game thread). Vrabel trusted him not once but twice with scoring touchdowns in a primetime nail biter against the best team in our division, shit the best team in the AFC right now. This team is becoming so cohesive, and the amount of love the other players showed Mondre speaks volumes. I love this and I can’t wait to see what’s to come this year and beyond.

I like the positive tone of this so much better. ~~nobody bring up my custom “do your job” embroidery on one of my hats~~
