[The Athletic] Sabres are planning some subtle changes to the broadcast that they hope will give it a fresh feel. An inside look at what they have planned from having Meghan Chayka on the broadcast, in-game interviews and yes, shots on goal on the score bug:

> Bellas and Maas also want to give the broadcast more depth regarding analysis. They now have a contract with hockey analytics firm Stathletes, something no other team or regional broadcast has. That will allow them to include some more in-depth data in both their graphics and analysis in-game and during intermission. As part of that agreement, Meghan Chayka, one of the co-founders of Stathletes, will appear on 15 Sabres broadcasts this season during intermissions. Chayka has appeared on TSN and ESPN, but this will be her first regular spot on a team broadcast.
This is an amazing development
I just hope we can hear Everytime We Touch by Cascada clearly on the mix
As long as I get my Rob Ray hot takes, I’m all for it 😏
Are they going to try winning more?
Underrated that stats are finally being added to the score bug
As long as they keep calling the play
This is awesome, more Rayzor, more Marty, more mic’d up players, more stats on the screen.
Happy for Maas to be able to stay in hockey after the yotes relocated and looking forward to see what Bellas, he and Chayka have in store for us. Free streams after the MSG deal expires in ‘28?
I just wish they had separate tv and radio teams… I know it won’t happen but when you are someone that drives during the game and you get the TV feed it’s not as descriptive as a radio team would be..tadio guys will give the score regularly and the tv guys assume you see it so no exaggeration it can go 10 minutes without the score… there are distinct differences between radio calls and tv calls…the other night they had the penguins radio guys and it was very enjoyable because they did alot of details that tv guys just don’t feel they need to…. I know this team is too cheap to ever go back but most teams have it split
It’s time to move on from Ray. Welcome the announced changes
Better still be talking to Matty Ellis between periods.
I look forward to enjoying these, hopefully alongside more Sabres wins.
Actually something good
I just wish they’d stop making Marty talk about parlays every game.
