John Harbaugh on the Odafe Oweh Trade | Baltimore Ravens
definitive uh thoughts on him. Right. Right. Uh yeah, same with all the all the guys that are dealing with the different injuries. I think it’ll be uh indicative as the week goes along, you know, what their status will be going forward. Now, what can you say about the adap trade and Gilman being here? Yeah. Uh it’s uh happened fast. I can tell you that. You know, and uh I didn’t talk to Jim about it until after it went down. So, it wasn’t anything that we were talking about. It was between Eric and Joe and the personnel departments on both sides, but uh we had a chance to uh consider it in terms of what was best big picture for our for our uh for our team, for our for our defense, you know, uh all the pieces together, moving together, trying to build the best defense we can for the rest of the season, you know, and and also, you know, in some ways what’s best uh possibly for the player too, you know, for Adaf and uh go out there and uh you know his contract year and have a chance to to make a statement maybe you know I think that’s good for him and obviously have a lot of respect for them and how they operate there in in LA with the Chargers but u alo aloh he’s going to give us a lot you know he’s going to it’s a it’s a veteran safety he’s in a very similar system he’s he’s a proven player had a good really good practice today uh I think he’s a good he’s a good fit for us right now what we’re looking for so u it’s a piece that we’ve kind of been looking for as we’ve went here through the last really throughout the season so far. So, for that to happen is a good thing for our defense. You often talk about you often talk about like guys need to get up to speed, get up to speed. We know he’s in shape. He’s been playing. Do you anticipate him being right on the field Sunday? I think he could play Sunday. Yeah. Yeah, I believe that. John, is part of the equation there being able to have the flexibility to free up Kyle Hamilton a little bit more, get him back maybe playing closer to the line of scrimmage a little more. I mean, I think there’s a lot that goes with it. you know, it’s a just kind of put it together and set up the scheme. I mean, you’re playing the Rams. We’ve got to consider what they’re doing, what our game plan’s going to be against them. Uh, we’ve got that plan put together. We’re trying to practice it now and we’ll see where it takes us. Do you see something like this maybe guys straighten up more, more of a wakeup call if anything can go to do anything to try to improve this roster? We have a trade like that that might be surprising to some of the guys in the locker room, right? Yeah. Uh, it’s a good good question. I think guys uh guys understand that it’s pro football. I I believe they do. And uh this is this is how it works and uh it’s always uh there’s always moving parts, opportunities are created and uh I think they understand that. John, what type of stresses this Rams offense put on? You know, how dynamic they are in the pass game, but Kron Williams, they seem to still lean on him in the run game and the pass game as well. Yeah. Yeah. Kron Williams is is a really good back. I mean, you know, um and they got a you know, you know, the backup’s a Maryland guy, you know, St. Francis product from Michigan. Um, but they are downhill hard charging backs. I mean, they put a foot in the ground and they get north, you know, and they can cut back, they can take it all the way back, they can bounce outside. It’s a it’s a very very physical run game. Uh, but it’s very fast-paced offense. Uh, they get to the line, they get out of the huddle, they they quick snap you, uh, they attack play you, they speed break you, they do all the things that try to put pressure, a lot of motion, a lot of shifts. uh run, play action, boot, um drop back pass, you know, uh some some run game out of the drop back pass and just try to kind of get you off balance yet. They do what they do and they they try to do it well. So, uh it’s kind of in that system. You know, Shawn comes from the the Shanahan, then the Kubiaak background. Uh it’s in that system and he’s, you know, they got all those branches now and of course uh you know, Sean’s done a great job uh making making his branch of it what it is and his personality. So it’s tough to defend. John, you mentioned on Monday, you know, pass rush has to be better. Obviously moves on as part of that deal. So that’s something more of an Eric question, I realize, but that’s something you guys will continue to look at in terms of maybe who’s available and how I know you’ve got guys obviously you’ll put in there and that you that you’re confident, but that you’ll continue to look at that the next few weeks. I think so. You know, those guys, like you said, it’s twofold. the guys will be in there and uh their their ramp reps will ramp up, see how they handle it and see if they can get to the quarterback and then um I’m sure until the trade deadline, those are going to be conversations that’ll be had. You mentioned adopting your chance maybe to go and make a statement out there contract here. What do you think prevented him from doing that here this this year the season? Yeah, you know, I definitely thought about that too much other than the fact that I think he was playing well, you know, coming down the stretch here. He was he he he was real intentional about being really direct with his pass rush and his run defense and being physical with it off the edge. And I thought he was rushing the passer well. Uh probably why the why the Chargers wanted him. I think if you look at the tape, you’ll say, “Hey, he’s playing good football.” So, it’s not something that we didn’t take lightly. You know, we understand that we this is a good player. I mean, a really good player who was a first round pick who was playing well and uh just had to weigh it out all things considered. There’s there’s three or four other factors involved in it too, but uh it does give us a piece in the secondary uh who’s a really good guy and a really good player who we think brings something to the table for us that can help us. John, you talked about specifically Gardenner Johnson. What do you what do you like about what he did? Yeah, thanks for bringing that up, too. Uh yeah, he’s a he’s a I’ve always liked the way he played, you know. I’ve always liked the way he played. He’s a he he brings it. He’s a bring it attitude guy. He’s a physical player. a lot of juice, a lot of energy, a veteran guy, knows how to play the game. So, that’s another one that was kind of parallel kind of conversation really. Maybe him first. We were talking about probably been talking to him for a little while. So, uh, having him here is exciting as well. So, yeah, I think our team is better because of that. You anticipate it’ll take him very long to get caught up. No, I really don’t. I mean, I think he’d pick it up just like that. You know, he’s he’s smart. He knows the game and had a good day today. So, those are conversations we’ll be having. John, what what impressed you about pass rush? High energy, you know, high energy pass rush. Obviously, uh know number eight, you know, he’s pretty good. Number zero is really good, too. And number 10’s really good, too. Then the the inside guys are high energy players as well. They do a little bit of blitzing. They do a little bit of moving off the edges, but uh it’s really those four guys, uh with energy and power, and uh we’re going to have to be have to be ready for that. You mentioned um you know trying to find that rhythm in the offense how it really hasn’t been to your guys’ liking. Um how do you how do you kind of do that? Obviously you know Lamar status up in the air but establishing the ground game and offensive line and how important is that to to try to as part of that picture? Well I mean the game planning is part of that you know how we put that together. Uh we’re going to we’ve worked hard at that this week but uh for against this defense and you got to block them. I mean it comes down to blocking people. So hopefully we’ll create situations where we’ll create a little bit of space here and there. Uh but we got to do better on first down, especially uh first and second down being more manageable third down. We’re not opposed to getting the first down and first and second down either, you know. So that would be good. But uh but you got to block them. You have to get the play started against any defense, but against the Rams, against the Texans, against the defenses we’ve been playing and the style of defenses we really played all year since the Browns game. All these defenses, you have to get the play started and that comes down to blocking. John, I know you guys want to win every week, but is there any extra motivation to try to, you know, go into the bye with a win as opposed to obviously the alternative of being one of five? It’s hard for me to measure motivation like to say it’s extra motivation because I just think I think we are all and the guys are all about as highly motivated as you can be every single week to get a win. So, they’re completely motivated to get the win this week, you know, but the main thing you got to focus on is how to do it. You got to go play a certain way and getting prepared to do that and to play the way we can play given whatever circumstances we have. We have we have a lot of skilled players on offense. We got uh we got plenty of guys to make plays and go play well. So, uh let’s go do it. Let’s go find a way to win the game. You know, you got to go play the game and compete and uh win one play at a time, you know, and that’s what we’ll be trying to do. And I think we can I know we can do it. We just got to get out there and and uh and and do it, but the motivation level is high. Thanks,
Head coach John Harbaugh on the additions of safeties C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Alohi Gilman, preparing for the Rams and more.

Wtf
Why is he still the coach ?
He couldnt wait for the opportunity to laugh as if this makes fans quiet or the team better. Dude is useless!
Coach
It’s pro football so fire harbaugh
He needs a better coach
I want to know how many of you went through your careers without making mistakes? I’m behind this team 100%, good or bad and I trust them to get this team right.
This guy is a joke…PLEASE Fire Mr Can't Get it Done without Ray
lol the way he lies so hard to our face make me wanna punch him in that face but violence is not the answer I must pray 🙏🏾
Fire John harbaugh.. I hope we get beat by 35 maybe they would finally make a change damn

JOHN YOUR TOO LATE
Fire harbum
We need pass rusher and O Line help
Why is he still HC? The defense is last in the league and Orr is still there. Time to clean house!
FIRE HARBAUGH
Ravens fans are so annoying with this whole "Fire Harbaugh " stuff. Shut up and stop beating a dead horse. Its toxic and makes everything 10x less enjoyable. Be a fan and move on- when/if it happens, stop invading every post with the same BS. What are you contributing besides negativity?
Fire Harbaugh
I dont like how harbs been getting treated yea we playing bad but dang man…yall borderline being disrespectful
Shouldve traded john
Still my coach, I'm tired of the ungrateful a$$ fans FR 😐
FIRE HARBAUGH!!!!!! FIRE HARBAUGH fire harbaugh
we are about to be 1-5 bra this is insane
no pass rush and the safety is a good fit for us lmao
the more and more i listen to him he sounds like an special team coach
They really need to trade you
Harbaugh is a politician not a coach. It’s time for him to go join his brothers staff.
Everyone calling for Harbs firing agree KC Reid should also be let go after chiefs rough start
😂😂😂he's talking like he's outta hot water….no buddy! Fans still want you outta there!
Rush isn’t the answer
But on the real I think once the bye is over it's gonna get betta!! Hopefully Patrick Ricard will be back soon once he back da king gonna have a lotta open gaps! 💯
They have to go 9-3, the rest of the way to get in the playoffs…season is over.
For all those who keep talking about “ who you going to get to replace him with”???? Like that’s ever stopped anyone from being fired when under preforming as a coach. Bill was in NE and nobody said who you going to get when was getting the damn boot. It’s a lazy take at best. He will be replaced with young new blood, his message has dried up.
This dude is garbage..BS questions from the media
Sometimes the game passes you by! The 3 oldest coaches are all struggling! Harbaugh, Carroll and Reid! Plus look at Belechick. Its just time for a fresh young voice!
Nobody cares John, your Pride and Ego has made the air in the building Toxic is beyond disgusting 🤮 – people at the end of the bar aren’t blind. Excuses have never won a SB.!
One thing that's interesting he always finds a way to make sure that he wasn't behind the decision or he wasn't behind the bad play calling ECT ECT ECT and it is always easy to talk a good game but we got to see it, then we got to see if it was really any changes made on the o line as well. I have seen so many people pull up the film and look at number 77 getting blown up off the line of scrimmage.
His offensive coordinator is garbage
His offensive coordinator act like he is still in college 🙄. You got to feed henry 25 carry a game
Trade Lamar we need a qb who won't quit on the team
This dude dont even sound convincing 😂 he sound like a scammer calling with the same number
If the ravens had Jim harbaugh instead they would won multiple Superbowl
Fired harbaugh, why trade oweh hell o no but this is a brother thing, and even if he thinks the season is over don't trade nobody defense went down when they got rid of Patrick Queen,Kevin clowney i knew we was done up, and when harbaugh was leaving the stadium after the game the way they was booing him embarrassment situation right now
